red axes is niv arzi and dori sadovnik, two young men who have always lived in tel-aviv and have been making music together since the noughties. ballad of the ice is their debut album. their artistic travels have taken them from the rock scene to the dancefloors, and to creating an album. more than a summary, this lp is an invitation to discover a singular musical identity: a ballad of the ice, a song as light as love and cold as a tunnel, springy as a dance step and deep as nostalgia.

maeve is the record label run by three close friends, mano le tough, the drifter and baikal. maeve 04 is the drifter s debut on the label, and his first original music since late 2012 for permanent vacation. again showcases a tougher side to his productions. the again ep consists of 2 tracks, both aimed firmly at the dancefloor. again is a rolling 10 minute trip, with some twists and turns along the way. blocks with its tougher, ahem, blockier beats and soaring synths is a more upfront affair.

andy meecham is a man of many musical incarnations and has been since the early 90s. following on from projects like the now dormant bizarre inc and revived dub-disco duo chicken lips, it is as the emperor machine that he explores his most experimental sounds. to date there have been three full length albums on dc recordings after the project was initially started with the idea of creating music using just one synth, the roland sh-3a. the results lay out the staffordshire mans love of vintage synthesisers for all to see, and combine tough edged disco beats with more cerebral cosmic melodies into alluring soundscapes that bend your mind and drive your feet. as well as a slew of 12s and lps, the emperor machine has also turned his hand to remixes of giants like moby, daft punk and royksopp, and has previously taken a live and inspiringly psychedelic incarnation of the project to clubs and festivals across the planet.
