with the track *time machine*, dj and producer michael nielebock provided us with a fantastic debut on our deep circus label. his first success came for the berlin resident with the track pure visionson the treibstoff label, which entered the charts and the record cases of many international djs. his productions all are characterized by a driving groove, mixed with spherical elements, strings and synth-sounds. with *time machine* he also managed to bring this mixture to perfection in cooperation with his studio buddy leevey, thus creating a track which will make the day and caress the ears of many outdoor dancers this summer.
the second track on the ep is a wonderful remix by burak sar aka sis, who recently released his second album *confidance* on his label cocolino. the sis remix stays close to the original track, but reduces the spherical sounds and puts a greater focus on the basses, resulting in a great piece with a lot of deepness. nice!

the ever elusive duo, flight facilities, will release their new single i didnt believe on may 7th (north america) & may 8th (australia & rest of world) 2013. alongside the tandem production outfit, alexander burnett (of sparkadia) & marcus browne share songwriting credits and bring a silky pop feeling to the song. it comes complete with a remix package, including another world-renowned secretive disco duo tiger & woods, new york based label owner lou teti (tigers on a leash) and studio buddy light year.

wilde calm records is proud to present some say, a recently discovered song from the archive of arthur russell. the track was produced and mixed by arthur in 1985 for a solo project of steven halls that was originally intended for release on rough trade records. legendary disco producer bob blank recorded and engineered the project at his connecticut-based studio. some say features arthurs classic cello basslines, cracking boom bap drums and stevens floating vocals and synth pads. in true arthur fashion, the song abrubtly stutters, slinks and lurches halfway through for steven to complete his buddhist pop mantra. the b-side features an extended rework of some say by pocketknife using arthurs boss dr. rhythm dr-55 drum machine.

cavaan is the alter ego of a rather well known berlin producer and his fellow from milan. the duo debuts with their very much loved project. they feature a studio-recorded wonderful vocal on this hypnotically modern percussive house affair titled black snow. the original track grooves on some free swinging retro percussions and beats from the 80s machinery and a softly moving house-beat making this a very subtle killer for any dancefloor. while the vocals carry the track as light as a feather it is after the breakdown that things get really musical - you will hear yourself while listening the melodies and sequences. for the remixes turdjr has aligned a high-quality and diverse array of a current top producer. one of heidelbergs coolest kids on the block, lopazz knows that every track gets better with a lot of handmade music-and he sure is right in his interpretation of black snow. last not least i is under on the flip which is one of these tracks that sucks the listener in so deep that there is simply no escape: repetitive yet constantly changing and constantly grooving while remaining very pure! this release is filled with tracks that will long echo on the dancefloor!

discovery recordings is proud to release coule ba by analog players society, a collective melting pot of musicians lead by amon. couleba draws from west african influences and features the incredible missia saran diabate of guinea on lead vocals. we came across couleba while finishing the catalano ep at the hook studio last summer. amon was doing his final mix-down of the track and we fell in love with the song immediately. shortly after we lined up the release, the studio and surrounding areas endured hurricane sandy. with the red hook initiative, amon and his family began helping out wherever they could. when power finally returned and the debris was cleared, it seemed only appropriate that the record should benefit the organization that did so much for red hook during that time.

2013 edition in bonbon marbled unique ltd re-press. one day in 2008, two close friends were sitting together, probably they were working at the studio to finish some tracks. and while they talked about music, they came across this song again and again. perhaps its tanitas voice, perhaps the melody attended by that doleful bassoon pipe. anyway, it is just one of those musical moments from the late eighties that have remained in thought since childhood.
