following on from killawatts bring down the walls ep at the tail end of last year osiris music continues to expand their sonic boundaries as they move in 2014, with their first release of the year coming in the form of sleepers simulation theory ep. experimenting for the very first time with fm synthesis, the ep features seven tracks of thunderous production the majority of sounds for which sleeper drew from a mere four oscillators in a bid to recalibrate his production skills. the resulting record is far more than the sum of its component parts and, save for the skulking, static soaked tension of meth, moves with relentless force and purpose throughout.the simulation theory ep sees sleeper taking his already deft grasp of both dubstep and techno production and fusing them to a body of pummelling forward momentum perfectly suited to set osiris music off on what promises to be a bold and progressive year.

graze minerals possess a superlative lustre, which is most notably seen in diamond. such frequencies are transparent or translucent in nature, and have a high refractive index. tones with a true adamantine lustre are uncommon, with examples being cerussite and zircon. mweapon minerals display luminous bass bands, which appear to move as the specimen is rotated. such frequencies are composed of parallel fibers, which reflect sound into a direction perpendicular to their orientation, thus forming narrow bands of light. the most famous examples are fm and subtractive, but the effect may also occur in other sound banding - such aquamarine, moonstone and tourmaline. scrap minerals consist of thin transparent co-planar sheets. light reflecting from these layers give them a lustre reminiscent of pearls. such minerals possess perfect cleavage, with examples including muscovite and moss opal.

concealed sounds return with a new 12 for 2014. this time around we have invited our friends from mysteries sylphe label to remix the title track by martinez, and they delivered a monster! on the a side we find >consolidation (sylphe lydlos dub)<, were we are taken a true journey thru sound and rhythms for about 13 minutes. the remix kicks off in a kind of tracky way, with a strong focus on the irresistible groove laid down by holdie gawn & micawber. after the first small breaks and manipulations to the groove, we are introduced to some very trippy modular sound design. these sounds takes the lead of the remix and forms into small melodies in a very organic way. while you can still sense the ingredient from the original track, sylphe takes a slightly different directions and offers a good opposite to the original with their own special twist. the original version of >consolidations< is presented on the b side of this 12. its a dirty groove ridden track that goes on for well over 10 minutes, developing from a broken groove into a more danceable techno pieces, with its shattering metallic sounds, bubbly baselines, deep layers of sub rhythms and lush pad chords to give it some more atmosphere. two very different version of modern instalment in techno music. we hope you enjoy it as much as we do� and as always there is a special hidden track on this 12.

when luke solomon got in touch and said he wanted to work with local talk we felt both honoured and happy, especially since we have been fans for a long time and mats actually booked him to his raw fusion club in the late 90s. he has been around long enough to be considered a legend within the scene. we couldnt agree more. lost channels, a 130 bpm piano driven and punk-dubby new york inspired house track comes in two versions. the raw & stripped version is exactly what the name says, sharp snares & hi-hats, piano chords, a driving rhythm with lukes trademark percussion sprinkled on top. the live piano version is actually the original version and is peppered with more of everything. bubbly fx, more of that staccato piano and of course that muscular bassline. for remix duties it is the return of an old local talk friend, wil maddams. it seems like wil has spent some time in detroit since last time. this remix sounds like something that would come straight out of the d, his clever drum programming holds this track together with its deep pads and bubbling bassline. it is a retro (but fresh) techno jam for 2014.
