moon harbour are delighted to welcome a huge summer signing for their next ep: foremost uk producer huxley turns out three club rocking tunes that all make the big impressions he is known for.
over the last decade, huxley has produced a number of huge hits that fuse myriad four four styles into exciting and arresting new forms. his diverse lp from 2014 showed off a range of styles from peak time to downtempo to jungle and came on aus, while other labels like hypercolour have also showcased his ever subtly evolving style. here he is in fine form once more.

a new group strut their way down the bordello boardwalk. the chameleon outfit of yellocat, emblazoned with colour, arrive with dans la boutique and are true to their debut 12- title. a deep wardrobe of styles has been raided for this four track ep. first comes the latin funk of -mi hermano-, a lust laden duet of sweet chords and dancefloor desires, before the lounge romance of -tout a&#768,,, moi.- language is played with, spanish shimmies into french before english takes over the flip. -rivals of mars- is brash interplanetary battle. synthlines glisten against vocoder lyrics in an epic struggle between our world and theirs. the pop-scented warmth of -chasing the light- leads the 12- out, a ballad of late night excess amidst the glass and steel of the city.

hand numbered vinyl only! frits wentink s next release on his own bobby donny label finds him editing some tracks he has been playing on his radio show for a while. they are originally by vertiqua, a german lo-fi hip hop producer that remains unknown. the vinyl only record is limited to 500 copies. all four of these tracks have been edited to make them more suited to the dance floor. the a side comes as an edit that is all about woozy chords and loose, bumpy drums with a rapped vocal stitched deep into the arrangement. it s warm and intake for cosy dance floors. the b1 has organic boom bap drums and kicks, more tape delayed chords and a nice analogue feel all finished with a wordless but beautifully soul-infused vocal. last of all, the louche drums of on b2 are coated in vinyl crackle and laced up with more intoxicating and imperfect chords. this is a perfectly aged combination of hip hop and house that will get any floor bouncing.

tom flynn marks his first appearance on exit strategy, starting off with a strong package of four tracks. each of them tends towards a slightly different side of his ecstatic and clean production style - making this a very coherent well balanced collection of killers.

after a short hiatus, ownlife’s tenth release has been revealed. presented as crossover, this project merges the ideas of the artist behind it. well known producers in the scene due to make their appearances in other renowned imprints. hardware jams, sharp arrangements and out of the four-to-the-floor land excursions, are some of the characteristics of this episode, where the combination of preterite reminiscences with the actual formulas, achieves an interesting balance in both sides of this new maxi-single.

rekids celebrates 10 years of radio slave’s ‘grindhouse’ with remixes from len faki, slam, obscure shape & shdw, vatican shadow, markus suckut, lady starlight and special request. first appearing on a release as part of radio slave’s iconic ‘no sleep’ series, ‘grindhouse’ spawned multiple remixes from the likes of dubfire, danton eeprom, terrance fixmer and nic fanciulli to become one of the biggest techno records since its original release. to commemorate this fact, len faki has produced two different reinterpretations in the first of four heavyweight remix packages.
“i didn’t plan to go back to grindhouse. it’s a monster of a record and undoubtedly the biggest release we’ve had on the label, but after 10 years it seems right to revisit the track and also add some new versions from some of my favourite techno producers.- – radio slave with danton eeprom’s vocal resonating throughout, faki’s first remix features crunchy snares, ominous chords and shuffling effects before piercing synths come into effect in the latter half. meanwhile, the second version rumbles forward with its undulating bassline, soaring atmospherics and echoing elements to round up two solid productions exemplary of the figure founder’s seasoned abilities in the studio.

delsin records inertia series is back with a powerful four tracker from yan cook. the producer from ukraine has also released delsin s main label and associated ann aimee, as well as planet rhythm and cooked. he makes straight up techno that arrests your attention and does just that again here. toucan is first and is a spangled, underwater techno track with gurgling lines wrapping round shuffling percussion and insistent drums. it s one to get into your head, while puffin is more physical, with more warped synths and paddy drums woven together into a fluid, rippling groove that never lets up. the drums on dialogue are deep and land with real resonance while dubby chords rattling out to the horizon. last of all flamingo is the most manic of the lot, with hi speed synths and booming drums all coming together to make for powerful, sub shaking and room filling techno madness.

after launching into memory box with aplomb on the deadly acid stomp 12inch, robin ball steps up on the london-based imprint once again with the saucy tones of his latest four track ep. drop it down low and its accompanying dub mix are classy twists on the tech house formula that lean towards old-skool methods while keeping the sleaze factor ramped up high. remember takes a more tripped out tribal approach, with the vibes mix providing a more subtle twist to the warm, melodic undulations of the full fat version. it s an ep loaded with personality and flair for sophisticated dancefloors.

we are happy to welcome on this release one of the freshest and talented spanish producer, kasun. his four track vinyl is characterized by typical fat and vibrating basslines, thin and cleverly placed hi-hat patterns and unexpected bubbling delayed bleeps.

french producer okain has long been entrenched in the minimal house movement, from time spent on four:twenty and tsuba through to memoria, no fit state and now shoring up on dogmatik. babylon is a sharply focused workout with playful organ trills darting in and out of the mix, while radio therapy gets into a light-headed, bubbly state of mind thanks to some shimmering synth work. permeable drops a little dubby magic on the track and r4r5r6 finishes the ep off with a more muscular groover for when you need to keep the energy up on the dancefloor.

forgot 001 is the debut release from london based record label forgot. the compilation is comprised of four tracks by four different artists: harry orso, aka ratomagoson, was last year picked up by gilles peterson’s future bubblers project and has gone on to drop a succession of well received releases on labels such as twosixtysix, polyop and tru thoughts. forgot residents hoffy and joe s both come from beat-making backgrounds while phillip russel aka pila boasts an impressive catalog of material online. since its release campaign launched earlier this year, the forgot 001 compilation has received a wealth of positive feedback from a number of revered and respected djs such as dom servini, adam scrimshire and david hanke aka renegades of jazz. the release gained considerable airplay during the summer: dom servini on soho radio, risha on radar radio, selassie tbc & amy frenchum on worldwide fm, toshio maatsura on tokyo moon and adam scrimshire on balamii radio.

this engaging four tracker features three originals by brussels-based talent damaskin after a string of brilliant releases including an ep for drvg cvltvre’s new york haunted, and a remix by the young portuguese cindy, whose rapid growth has seen him release music on vent and plat at berlin’s techno mecca, tresor.

brooklyn s effective weapons return with another useful weapon for your record box, -tear gas- includes four relentless tracks bristling with techno-industrial carnage. dark s&m flavor abounds on the lead track -controversy-, a powerful- slow motion burner with super sleazy samples and ultra-heavy rave sounds. 909 workout techno makes up -dominator- which is based around an extraction from the klinik. the b side includes -bun hope!- and -take a pil- which also edit freely from industrial 80s jams and inject them with the ew flavour.

next up on bucharest’s raw tools label is börft co-founder, johan sturesson, also known to be part of the swedish electronic trio, frak. the four-track ep consists in music from the private vaults of the producer, that has been kept secret for almost 20 years. rough and gritty, his analogue approach and stripped down sound define the record. starting with the rave sounding “uncle owl” and then moving to a more darkly atmospheric title track, kord shows his muscles on the flipside with some more techno infused and bass driven dancefloor cuts.
always under the radar, johan has been operating raw electronics since the late 80’s, developing his distinctive sound. as kord, he has released on several swedish labels, including his own imprint. together with jan svensson and björn isgren as frak, they have released music on labels such as kontra musik, lux rec and midlight records.

hollands house & techno kingpin de sluwe vos kept his best work until today to be released on his patron imprint. a four tracker which combines low tempo sharp synths as well as dancefloor shakers with rolling snares and undeniable claps for a dark and sweaty night club setting. as he is equipped with a deeply rooted understanding of club music, de sluwe vos raised the bar with this release for the future releases on the patron records imprint.

this june session victim returned to delusions of grandeur imprint with their third studio album. listen to your heart is the result of a year of cross-continental scripting, started in their hamburg studio and wrapped up stateside in san francisco’s room g studios where the duo had worked on their 2014 lp see you when you get there. here we present the third of three lp samplers containing four tracks each, cut nice and loud for the vinyl crew.

astrophonica welcomes lewis james to the fold with the shapeshifter ep. a professional sound designer and life long musician, london-based lewis james first appeared on the label via the gradients compilation in early 2017. with this ep he celebrates his love of jungle and drum & bass across four tracks that combine analogue and digital processes to create what he calls, -a spaced out identity, somewhere between science fiction and the dancefloor.-

this is the kind of house music that disco built! bons records is back with an ep full of soul. in the ninth release, the catalan label is nourished by four first-rate artists in an album full of disco and funk samples. slide a is for not me, a young catalan producer who performs a club version of one of the all-time essential soul records. on the other hand, madrid-based javi frías has made another of his sought after trips through disco music. on the b-side, dj bruce lee, one of the best and most active selectors in town, presents a dj-tool of house music with samples of a very well-known disco track. do you know which one it is? doc l junior, artist of label rosters as sex tags mania or music for freaks, presents a classic house track with 80 s feel to close a round ep.

has underground house really run out of ideas? the aesthetic is no doubt getting worn out: you can barely move for tounge-in-cheek dj aliases, palm-tree emojis and vhs screen grabs of 90s a-listers. against that backdrop, helter cuts through like a rough-edged asteroid. -polaris ep-, the london producer s debut vinyl release after a few leaked tracks created a buss on soundcloud, hits the reset button on the hackneyed discourse that surrounds decayed house music. the four tracks on offer cascade between blasts of tectonic rhythm, colour and melody, and washed-out ambience, intertwining and soaking into each other. the deck is still broken, but it punches in all the right places. a sun-warped, boards of canada sequel pumped full of adrenaline and grit. the soundtrack to a broken ecstasy, sure to leave half the kids in a trance and the other with shit dripping down their legs. helter is pushing the genre of misshapen house music into a new dimension - one with more energy, and through a truly shattered lens.

sam kdcs latest offering for auxiliary takes the listener on a deep and spiritual journey. of myth & mercury consists of four intricate pieces that tell a ritualistic tale drenched in a mystical atmosphere. all four tracks flow are grey area in design, and set about proving what can be done with the template. atmospheric pressure from one of electronic musics unsung heroes.

after the first successful record, danish label front man gaze ill pursues another excursion through the ever-growing dubstep-spectrum. he returns to his own physical outline of cue line records with four hefty cuts that surely make up another stellar record, however he s not alone. last time it was his partner in crime rdg, this time its frontline support from the dutchman & bass mammoth tmsv, who’s given space-time a completely different spin.

blue hawaii is the songwriting, production, and dj project of raphaelle ‘ra’ standell and alexander ‘agor’ kerby. after some four years apart, the duo rekindled their creative flame in 2016 and begun writing music about an intimate relationship ra was experiencing mostly over instant messaging, sparking ideas about the meaning of closeness in our highly connected world. tenderness is a concept album which brings forth the challenges of handling relationships online. maintaining closeness over distance and a need for more tenderness between each other - both in real and virtual life - are important themes in the album s progression. the album draws upon influence from 90 s dance tracks and deep disco cuts, often mixed with ra’s acoustic guitar playing. it unfolds like a play and each song being supported by shorter interlude pieces: skits, phone calls, acoustic demos, real life samples and quiet left-turns.

alter is the new album from belgium-based double bass player and electronic producer otto lindholm. divided into four colour-inspired, long-form movements, alter takes off from lindholms previous work a self-titled album released in 2015 on icarus records, and pushes the already abundant palette of sounds even further. this new work is more brooding and hypnotic. a deep, resonating bass is present - hinting at the likes of greek, chamber-doom merchants mohammad but perhaps with more attention placed upon textures and melody. the record moves at a funereal pace and opener fauve hits abyssal depths from the outset. a bowed melody is coaxed through the throbbing bass with dissonant harmonics drawing you in and holding you close. the ghostly beginnings of alyscamps create an overwhelmingly tense atmosphere where acoustic and electronic elements collide and evolve into a heaving, ceremonious drone. shafts of light emerge through the fog but the tone remains a haunted one. closer, heliotrope, strikes a more hopeful note. a lighter, more open feel emerges - bringing to mind early work of the rachels or perhaps deaf center.

the first ep from mouse on mars since their anniversary recording 21 again (2014) is clearly connected to their recent club gigs. in fact, synaptics sees the berlin duo embrace their love of juke, footwork and chopped up house music like never before. on its three tracks, andi toma and jan st. werner reinforce the collaborative idea of 21 again: eight different artists have been involved in the making of these tracks, which deliberately depart from a characteristic mouse on mars sound, creating a more organized vibe while still maintaining links to their previous work. there are two directions of research in andi and jan s sonic laboratory: one is focused on experimental club music, the other is in search of music without ties to specific genres. though heavily leaning towards the club, synaptics is caught in between. from the duo s perspective, it even touches pop territory. all three tracks came into existence during the past four years. opener „jack is out- with its pounding lazer stabs is an obvious link to their current club sets as well as a clue on future productions. after months of redesigning and rearranging, it found its final form through an edit by bon iver producer ryan olson aka arson only at his wisconsin studio, where andi and jan also recored for their next album. „bluescreen- was born out of a berlin session with jessy lanza and junior boys and was completed some year later with support from modeselektor. and the tropical funk of „sensitive person-, based on a studio jam with sepalcure, also needed some aging and refinement after a couple of months.

50% deal - spazio disponibile welcomes yet another new artist to their realm. this time the label welcomes producer grand river for its 11th release, and one that marks something of a new direction where ambient and experimental music will sit next to more dance floor fare. it s a direction already hinted at with marco shuttles full album earlier this year, and is now realised once more by aimee portioli. she is a multi instrumentalist, soundtrack composer and known for her deep and atmospheric sound and debuts on donato dozzy and neel s label with four lush ambient explorations. across the course of the tracks, fizzing, grainy ambiance makes way for dark atmospheres, then brighter synths arrive late on to bring some light to the shadows. elsewhere, undulating rhythms sway down low as muted keys and strings ripple in the distance. it makes for a cavernous world that keeps you in blissful suspense and overall this ep is a trip through a dark underground cavern with a spring day high up above. as well as this brilliantly cerebral ep, the future will also bring more spazio label nights across the world starting in 2018.

when we launched our digital imprint in 2013, one of our explicit reasons for doing so was to fund a vinyl label. it may have taken us four years to get to this point, but we’re finally here - fkofv001 is upon us. the debut fatkidonfire physical release sees new artists join our roster. taiko’s untitled grime has been blowing up the dances for a hot minute, championed by the likes of truth, spooky and many more. spooky even named the tune in his fact mag top ten most prized dubplates list! we linked taiko up with mancunian wordsmith skittles (currently smashing it with the levelz crew), and “don’t be stoopid” is the anthemic result. fkof fam and producer extraordinaire district adds an industrial grime-esque flavour to his remix for a killer one-two punch. the two producers collaborate, for the first time ever, on the b-side, entitled “yokai”. it’s a tune that demonstrates why we signed both musicians incredible atmospheres, depth and weight. beau at ten eight seven, as ever, has mastered the tunes to perfection. we’re proud of this release and, on first listen, we hope you’ll hear why...
