piano day is an official body created in 2015 by berlin-based composer nils frahm and his closest friends to house various exciting, piano-related projects for everyone to participate in.
the first project revealed by the piano day team in 2015 was the building of what will be the world�s tallest piano: the klavins 450, designed by piano builder david klavins who also created nils�s upright stage piano, the una corda. with over 70 per cent of the 120.000 euro target reached, the piano building is already underway and fans can continue to donate via www.pianoday.org.
it was on the 3.7 meters high klavins m370 that nils recorded eight improvised piano motifs in one sitting, which formed his 2015 album, solo.

still hope is their second single and the follow up to motorway jam (their double a side with palms trax from late last year) which sees them collaborate with anthony anaxagorou, a british born cypriot award winning poet and essayist, whose poetry and fiction have appeared on bbc newsnight, bbc4, itv and vice. hearing his lyrics via their good friend simbad, secretsundaze connected with anthony and still hope is the fruit of their labour. the original is a potent and political spoken word piece delivered over a rolling house groove. definitely one for the deeper moments with its late night heady feel and full vocal not letting up. the poems in the heart floor version strips the vocal back and adds dramatic strings for a more direct dance floor approach. ex slum village detroit producer waajeed released a couple of killer eps in 2017 on his own dirt tech reck imprint so we had to get him aboard for the remix. his detroit hardcore dub does what is says on the tin and is a peak time slammer while his searching dub goes down a jazzier, spacey route with live sounding drums and dreamy pads.

dark entries is honored to re-issue one of the greatest and most overlooked albums of the 1970s. time actor was the result of a collaboration between legendary crazy world & kingdom come visionary arthur brown and german synthesizer and ambient genius klaus schulze, recording under the pseudonym of his alter-ego richard wahnfried. richard is the name of klaus son born in 1979, and the first name of the german composer wagner. wahnfried is the name of richard wagners house, from the german -wähnen frieden fand (that his search and hopes will find peace). the album was a unique fusion of brown s eccentric musical vision and schulze s mastery of synthesis. the album was originally released in 1979 on the german innovative communication label. time actor stands out amongst schulze s massive catalog as a masterwork of avant garde new age. schulze helms the project on electronics, and guests include michael shrieve on percussion, vincent crane on keyboards, and vocalist arthur brown, who sings � or should we say, speaks � on top of it all. schulze describes the wahnfried project in the liner notes as �the collective pseudonym of an idea: time-electronic, an experiment between avantgarde and muzak: utility-music for sound-covered environment, in which a new generation grows up: richard wahnfried is this generation: music between genius and nonsense: new ideas transported by an old medium to your ear.� this newly re-mastered reissue expands the original 60 minutes of music across a double lp to help with playback and distortion experienced on original pressings. we�ve added a bonus track in the form of a cosmic 12-minute extended remix by italian producer and dj maurizio delvecchio from 1983. all songs have been remastered for vinyl by george horn at fantasy studios in berkeley. housed in a gatefold jacket with original album artwork featuring a surreal painting by german artist peter nagel plus lyrics and notes. �i wish you plenty of time� - klaus schulze

the debut release on mule musiq by italian dj&producer toto chiavetta. i have keep on checking his releases since his release �become one� on osunlade�s yoruba records, it�s still my fav track to play. toto has been releasing eclectic house music from mighty innervisions and yoruba records in the last few years. magnus ep start from floor killer tropical tech house track �higher than a bird�,it will be instant summer anthem. on b side,�magnus�&�first day without her� is more dark techno for big room but we still can hear some musical elements.

across the �hidden paradise� lp demuja showcases his powerful and emotive production style with dusty, jazz-tinged cuts like �still do�, �hang on�, �you smile feat. ainy�, �hear that bassplayer� and �my jazzy wung� employing the producer�s signature style via soft rhodes, hooky horn samples, organic bass grooves and soaring vocal samples. �still do� and �keep doing� also explore a more dropped- tempo disco aesthetic on the project with funk-infused bass, infectious guitar licks and shuffled, loose drums.

after an excellent 12inch on rosten label sstrom drops his first full length otider, which is by far the most diverse offering of the project encompassing elements of different genres and putting them in woolen and dense sonic textures. otider could be loosely translated as un-times or non-times. it positions the tracks out of specific context and rather represents them as some rediscovered artifacts relating to personal experiences of the artist. otider slightly distances sstrom from techno label as the compositions elegantly drift between lush transparency and thick grooves of outsider/lo-fi house as in kronofobi or svvaren or sensitive, yet subtly monolith and mellow techno on damm and i huvudet. in modernisten we can even trace echoes of coldwave/synth aesthetics with melancholic guitars sweeping over hypnotic rhythmic patterns, while closer sov nu introduces something which reminds a darker form of garage music with light synthpads constantly surfacing among raw mechanical beats. all the tracks were created over a relatively long period between 2010 and 2017 by employing the process where he let his hands work automatically without interference from his head. this freedom could be felt across the release, which juggles with different musical forms so lightly and organically, but at the same time maintains a coherent vision, which illustrates the vast scope and diversity of the artist.

2018 repress ... well. where do we start with deep inside ? originally released in the golden nyc house era of 1993, this 5 tracker literally smashed everything in sight. and still does now! the epitome of an evergreen, all-time classic release. masters at work louie vega and kenny dope were on a major roll in this era, producing, remixing, dj-ing and everything in-between, these guys put in ridiculous work. they are joined on this ep by a roll-call of names and collaborators, erick morillo engineering the title track? check. maurice joshua on co-production duties? you got it. vocals by ms. barbara tucker? they re there. killer, rock hard drums? stacks of soul? masterfully chopped up disco samples? all present. serious stuff. sometimes a record just manages to capture and distill the true essence of what this is all about and deep inside is one such record, it bears all the hallmarks of golden era maw, all the signposts of what was happening in nyc s clubs in the early to mid 90 s were there within it s grooves. you know a record is good when it s still being, quite literally, hammered nearly 25 years later! now, remastered, and reissued with the full involvement of strictly rhythm this seminal piece of nyc house history is made available again with all original, full sleeve artwork intact as per the 1993 original. this one s a straight up essential for any self-respecting dance aficionado. you know what to do!

mike huckaby, bergqvist, dj sports, raam and lns remix �deep soundscapes�, takecha�s album recently released on sweden�s love potion. released in march, the album incorporates takeshi fukushima�s work between 1990 to 2013 and affirms why the producer is such a respected figure within japan�s electronic music scene. now his compositions have been remixed by some of house music�s best, featuring renditions from detroit�s mike huckaby, aniara�s henrik bergqvist, the elusive raam, firecracker and regelbau�s dj sports, as well as wania and freakout cult�s lns. mike huckaby inaugurates the release with his sultry take on �low sentiment�, blending deep synths with murmuring vocals to forge a proper deep house cut. bergqvist then remixes �rhodes deep� creating a bouncy minimal cut incorporating the original�s scintillating melody alongside meandering percussion and twisted effects, making way into dj sports� remix of �gradual atmosphere� with its intricate breakbeat drums and dreamlike atmospherics. raam then reinvents �calm imagination� taking it into subterranean territories complete with infectious keys, until lns ties it all together with her mesmerising beatless reimagining of �factory 141�.
