for hardway bros first ep for throne of blood, sean looked back to the late 80s belgian new beat scene as well as chicagos storied wax trax imprint for inspiration, turning in two walloping originals that could just as easily soundtrack a gothic club night instead of an acid house rave. on the a-side, a/b musique kicks off the proceedings with a steady lurching rhythm, driving the dancefloor to ecstacy thanks to densely layered synths and the contributions of timothy j. fairplay of the asphodells fame. the flipside features the absolutely devasting rhythms of shorty backed by an utterly epic nine-minute remix by scott fraser which manages to fuse the disparate sounds of new beat and the lush analog house vibes of classic mr. fingers even as it name checks the latters legendary above the clouds lp.

martin landsky needs little introduction his services to the cause of house and techno have been well documented, particularly through his long and fruitful collaboration with steve bugs poker flat label. always willing to take chances, landsky continues this legacy with what might be the fiercest assault of the dancefloor of the year get ready for ekko trax.

trikk follows up last years debut release on manmakemusic with a second offering of shimmering bass heavy house music aimed squarely at the dance floor. the ep itself has already been getting some heavy rotation from manmake label boss george fitzgerald, appearing on his recent boiler room and radio one essential mixes. on basement traxx we see the darker side of trikks musical personality as he gives us a stuttering techno drum workout with demented pads and ominous stabs. rounded is trademark trikk featuring rolling subbass alongside drifting chords and swinging drums. lando (formerly lando kal) completes the ep with a guttural techno rework of the aside rounding off a stellar dancefloor centric release from the manmakemusic camp.

the guys from audision are back with their next release in coloured vinyl! they produced chimes 1 for their live-set and it was much appreciated by the crowd. their new syntie roland jd 800 sounded crystal clear in their studio, but when they practiced for their live set in frankurt last year, all of a sudden it played a different sound … this was a magic moment which had to be recorded at once. the typcial audision device is: let the machines do the talking. and that is the also the story of chimes 2 *away* was the beatless track from their last years release up & away. so no one else but gez varley aka g-man created a dancefloor monster out of it. where can we start, when we talk about such a genius like gez varley. he was co-founder of the legendary lfo (warp records) duo. he wrote music history with his partner mark bell. under his solo project g-man, he released on labels like wir, i220, force inc or swim. *quo vadis* is still one of the most important all-time favourite techno tracks. last but not least a typical rough and deep house mix came out of christopher raus machines. the smallville member released on labels like, pampa, derive, aim, mule… and delivered a great track for this wonderful release. all in all - a must have!

another storming, ranging ep from the new yorkers: heavy-duty machine funk for the dancefloor, charged and swinging with old-school chicago vibes. the a-side house bobs from tearaway to discofied to rawly jaunty, the techno on the flip from dug-in and twisted to a more wide-open excursiveness. to start, the soulful rug-cutter down runs a sublimated tribalism beneath lovely, dubwise kick drums and sultry female vocal, heavy skies is lo-fi funk, a stand-out, the bass and brilliant percussion-work of the title track crosses us garage with new uk styles (a little joy o to its bottom end). discreet time meshes vintage chicago drum programming with the filtered house of someone like i:cube, and to close, plateau, a widescreen, experimental bubblers, with reaching fxd synths and shuffling snares and hi-hats... perhaps their best yet.

on the last various artists ep, we were seduced by the dutchmens music, it was clear for us to invite them for an exclusive ep. ivano is no doubt a one of the hottest new comers of the year, and were very happy to release his partner alex jansens 1st appearances on vinyl. 3 personal, inventive, emotional tracks, great work on textures of the sound definitely groovy as hell. varoslav gives here a more housy version for the dancefloor. expect to hear more from the guys in 2013!

from the tropics comes whiskey disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from latent disco perpetrators. its loosely connected to sleazy mcqueen and his assorted cohorts. whiskey disco #18, cut me gently by beard in dust comes from behind the iron curtain. on a recent tour of russia, sleazy mcqueen had the fortune of meeting a friendly moscovite with an excellent selection of re-edits gathering dust on the hard drive. from the stab- centric *it shouldnt work, but it does* re-edit of grapevine to the cosmic groover, revolution in morder, the straight up boogie of highest mountain and the laidback ease of cant get enough-- more than most, this really does offer something for all (groovy) dancefloors.

after a little break we are back on track with a definitive collectors item: a special double a-sided twelve inch with two catalogue numbers, featuring four artists. the first side starts with in a dark garage, a dancefloor stomper by okee ru, followed by an untitled track delivered by solidsoul (kevin kipfer & dzanin gabirovic), retouched and tube-amped by the enterbt crew. on the flip side we proudly introduce our new label mate, donato capozzi, with his vinyl-debut. two special gems, not only for the floor. watch out for more!

on the fourth unterton release the black dog present a new sound somewhere between house and techno that the black dog call darkhaus. the original version of * council flat emptiness* is an infectious, futuristic, disco-tinged version of a progressive dancefloor workout bathed in strings, mellow melancholia and heavy bass. this is preceeded by a straight to the point stripped down version that multiplies the hypnotic elements of the original. on the b-side a 9-minute-30-something remix from luke slaters l.b.dub corp project drives the original into classic slater territory where techno and groove marry and electrify each other.

off the back of his second club-shaking ep for cvss dirtybird imprint, paris ghetto mastermind producer is back for his 3rd outing on his own label clekclekboom. after dropping their inaugural release, the stellar *champagne / hugz (ft. bambounou)*, at the end of 2011 it seems fitting that french fries return to kick-off 2013 with the labels 9th release. the use of bold, futuristic effects and percussive subtleties combined with an astute aptitude for clarity and fullness of sound makes for yet another destructive french fries and clekclekboom ep. this shrewd blend of experimentalism and dancefloor bass-weight means ccb009 is likely to turn up in a wide range of record bags.

two great friends, and exciting young talents, reunite for their second outing on real tone. the transatlantic partnership between leeds-born burnski and new yorks m a n i k has already produced one special creation – the dancefloor smash *you know what its like*. full of funk and relentless energy, the track was a great fusion of the contemporary styles of two well-respected producers.

the unifying atmosphere of the latest prruk 12inch by andreas florin is a hazardous one. with sublime high pitched tones and soaring sidechained beats, this is a top notch dancefloor record with elevating elements which gradually blend into a perfect package. with the dominant sound being reminiscent and yet thumping this is an all round venture into techno music. something for the collection as the sophomore package thats coming up is just as exciting as the first one.

one more heavy hitter on credo, and this time we could even say two tracks that form an ep as strond as the so far most sold credo-release from 2007 - bullet in your heart. the name tells already some connection to australia and indeed the basic idea came up during alex tour down under in fall 2012 where he played three cities within three days and a total of 9h playtime for which he travelled 64h in total. sydney acid is the main track of the ep, no doubt and hard to describe. it is a pure, driven technotrack with a fierce, no blubby, but very powerful acid bassline aiming at riots on the dancefloor. melbourne dub tells exactly what the track is all about and by the way featuring the sound of the local traffic lights that made alex thinking about creating some tracks related to it.

the french producer is back with a new ep and starts his own label, rutilance! specially designed for the dancefloor, this release is a three deep house tracks, with powerful and melodic flavors.

originally produced in 1997, this ep from this chicago producer finally gets a proper release. here he drops four dirty, deep house tracks that are heavy on the samples, loose with the drums, and serious with the dancefloor action.

flying bodies are beta evers and charles kent. they produced only three tracks together of which only one was released on vinyl before. here are the other two tracks. one is a dancefloor smasher and the other one perfect for night drives on the highway... dark, minimal elektro to energize and sooth you. limited to 150 copies.

limited reissue of this incredible and highly sought-after futuristic 12 from 1981. released on west african music, a tiny label from the ivory coast, and finding a spiritual home on the italian eclectic cosmic scene, both tracks on this 12 are brilliantly innovative and exhibit a minimal techno-esque aesthetic way ahead of their time. side as closer is a chugging sinuous flow punctuated by jerking monotone vocals, horn stabs and synth arpeggios with a strong dancefloor sensibility. flip over for stunningly weird electronic percussion workout tam tam - a crazed sparse soundscape of strange falsetto tribal chants, funky hand claps and drums, synth wobbles, spasms and tweaks. mystery surrounds the identity of the elusive artist codek but evidence points to it being an offshoot project of french new wave producer john marieux.

azimuth ep showcases this producers fresh take on electronic music across a range of tempos. dmarc cantu remixes the eps most dancefloor-friendly track, azimuth, lending it a deeper and more brooding edge. alis is the new project from italo-bulgarian londoner, sabina plamenova (formerly subeena). this new pseudonym reflects a more personal and vocal-lead endeavour, in her own words, not just a music about music approach but also an outlet for her own personality. a big name for 2013 and beyond.
