lonesome hero is the anonymous, vinyl-only project spawned from a love of technos vinyl purism by a collective of artists growing tired of technos current cult of celebrity. visit lonesomehero.net to read up on the lh philosophy. lonesome heros 3rd iteration introduces an entirely new artist project: campaign of love. col is the brainchild of an artist collective comprised of individuals perhaps atypical in modern dance music: a guitar-playing tattooist, a pianist cop, one, legendary mid-90s house producer, and a handful of analogue-minded individuals… with the mission of ignoring hype, col has chosen instead to focus on the joys of experimenting with sound in a room full of friends and analog hardware.

with our 9th release, the rasundas have graced lonesome hero with a double-sided ep of hypnotic, summer goodness. a proper, classic chugger, the a-sides feel the music fashions itself quite the speaker-warmer - an ideal weapon for crushing this summers lineup of open-air festivals. on the flip, wake the neighborhood fuses timeless funk bass with mesmeric string tones and jacking percussion to create a track reminiscent of a dj culture before the cult of personality.
their new ep by shadow moses is maybe a style breaker leaning more towards a techno vibe with detroit roots,spanning the years between basic channel and modern love. but still in the usual quality, which means solid releases aiming on the special moments on the dancefloor and not on the charts! shadow mosess most recent 2-tracker boasts textures befitting early springtimes emotional relief: tonal warmth permeates cold, floating atmospherics, while chugging drum tracks warm up bodies...and speaker stacks. full of energy and joy with the long winter finally being over.

this fine low-profile label (white labels/stampbizz) is slowly gaining momentum with a steady stream of fine (deep) house releases that are being played out by established names. here we have some fine detroit influenced house tracks. limited pressing.
the a side bonnino of this split maxi by campaign of love is a timeless techno track with a nice dub / detroit feel. almost everything is arranged live. battle call by ed shepherd has a kind of blues rhythm with a heavy moogbassline and an easy whistle.

one of the labels that caught our eye in the last months was lonesome hero. here their third release and its another quality one. a more then solid house track that kicks off with an intoxicating metalic bassline that hypnotically segues into the rasundas staple groove-heavy drums, with an achingly timeless piano peppered all over the top. on the flip-side, the boys over at campaign of love handle the remix duties. by tracking it out a bit, col have roughed up the original with a combination of strings and 909 snares, while keeping the spirit of the original mix alive with a snippet of its massive bassline.
