shortly after aussteiger s successful debut on dub disco we knew exactly that we wanted our long time friends s&w on board for our second release. these guys have been a huge influence on us for a long time now. first we fell in love with their eclectic and powerful dj sets and when we heard the demos of these hardware nerds we were truly blown away. when we asked them to produce our second release they handcrafted this ep full of lovely analogue sounds for us. it surely stands in contrast to the first record and by that underlines exactly what dub disco is about: a journey through the vastness of electronic music.

best records own luminary claudio casalini was at the helm for this one-shot studio project that captures italo disco at its most exuberant and organic. originally released in 1984, the bassline on -stop your lies- is a quintessential slice of synthetic throb from a golden era, but the electronic elements are wonderfully offset by rich instrumentation and a brilliantly camp vocal performance from the unnamed boy-girl combo. the vocal mix on the a side is strong enough for a single-sided cut, but the instrumental on the flip widens out the reach of the record and really lets casalini s superb production shine through

aesthete obfuscation (computer club) computer club presents aesthete (aka thom barnett) with his debut release obfuscation. a 4 track ep of bass-heavy minimalism. micro-precise percussion bursting through minimal electronics with chattering industrial machines, the 4 tracks take an experimental approach directly to the dance floor. we first encountered the unique aesthete sound in a dark former ballroom in sheffield in early 2016 and were mesmerised by his sonic assault. as the name suggests, barnett s skill isn t confined to audio. a talented designer, he runs mamnick, an internationally renowned brand sold online and via outlets including a flagship store in tokyo. mamnick clothes and items blend sheffield craftsmanship with a love of cycling and a sharp aesthetic eye. everything barnett turns his attention to is expertly crafted and this debut ep on computer club is no exception.
