opener equilibrium two from buitendijk is a perfectly streamlined and serene bit of spaced out, hypnotic techno. gentle synth pulses roam about the airwaves, left and right, up and down, as ethereal pads glow behind. it s heady dancing music, whilst liem s contact is also perfectly aimed at both head and heel. it is full of lick synth pulses that bubble and boil as watery droplets and ticking hits also colour the most subliminal groove. closer this is all you need is a more textured, frazzled cut with frosty lines and rickety pads working you into a trance. rich drums and clever bass filtration add dynamics and tension and so like everything else here the end result is hugely captivating.

dub-ito is a new label born from the long time friendship of the southern italian duo claudio mate and francesco mazocco (defrag). the funny name of the label is a mix coming from playing with a few words from different languages while talking about music, giving a unique outcome. straight uncompromised beats meet proper dub-techno landscapes, with a special deeper remix version by fabrizio lapiana.

rubber is new label from the hague with a motley mixture of off-radar electronix for both the experimental clubber and home listener. rubber001 is a bold three-tracker. mannequin records head-honcho alessandro adriani hits the nail on the head with his secret weapons. secondly, reigning from finland, 0.5w (halvtrak and stak etop) pans across the room like running with titanium scissors. the cherry on top is this piece of dutch drum-laden poetry, probably on illegal medication, about a bicycle mechanic from the hague by legends unit moebius, reverend cor gout and salo mentale. all on 180 grams of white vinyl in a white jacket.

andrea martello and giulio spagnuolo are known in their homeland as producers who are passionate about learning the intricate of house and techno sound. their releases are kept, with a minimum of melodic aspects, but sound definitely good and accurate. luminér doesn t deviate from that principles with their three new tracks for artreform. orbita , calendula (the titles refer us to slavic languages) and pressant’ is a meditative dry deep techno which, however, works well on the dancefloors. support from: adriatique, slam, broxgaard, noah pred, 2000 and one, luciano esse, satoshi fumi, alessio mereu, vince watson, simon garcia samuel l session and many more!

in april of this year, donato dozzy took a set of mouth harps back to his parents house in the italian countryside and set about exploring the possibilities of that most basic of instruments. the mouth harp had been calling to dozzy ever since childhood, when he had discovered the marranzano on a holiday in sicily with this parents at the tail end of the 1970s. almost four decades later, dozzy had begun to see in this peculiar, ancient sound, the roots of the music hed been making and playing in clubs all these years. it was time to find out how far he could trace it all back. the loud silence is the result of those explorations, an accompanied deep-dive into childhood memory, social history and the roots of psychedelia.

after a series of mesmerising (and massive) eps under his more disco orientated yse saint laur ant moniker pressed for time label head ant plate is back in his deep house mode with an ep of yse goodness no messing about with the opener this loves the same yse goes straight in there with some dancefloor heat that has enough quirk to counteract the house swing. 9828 is all badboy garridge wonk with some excellent detuned chords and a catchy, nagging vocal refrain - swag. on the flip, i gave you my is proper deep house (as in it s actually deep) with some trademark yse chords, blissed out vocal samples and great drum programming. night prescription rounds things off with a homage to the classic us house sound. think chuggles i remember dance but with an east midlands twist.

2019 repress! the pan-american highway is a network of roads measuring about 48.000 kilometres (30.000 mi) in total length. except for a rainforest break of approximately 100 km (60 mi), called the darién gap, the road links almost all of the mainland nations of the americas in a connected highway system. according to guinness world records, the pan-american highway is the world s longest -motorable road-. however, because of the darién gap, it is not possible to cross between south america and central america by road. the pan-american highway passes through many diverse climates and ecological types, from dense jungles, to arid deserts, some of which are passable only during the dry season, and in many regions driving is occasionally hazardous. jake silverstein, writing in 2006, described the pan-american highway as -a system so vast, so incomplete, and so incomprehensible it is not so much a road as it is the idea of pan-americanism itself-.

we started the classic series featuring tracks that we love, bought, played out and which we have the feeling more people should know about them. for this third, it is a great honor for us to welcome such a living legend, a pioneer from kalamazoo, michigan (city right in the middle between chicago and detroit): jay denham aka fade ii black. his style is a unique blend of these two worlds - chicago house and detroit techno, with a kalamazoo touch. he stays true to the underground, makes the music for the art of it and always remembers where he comes from.

throwing rave parties since 2011, the bp collective has been founded with the objective of bringing a new breath to the french underground techno scene. in the bp tag und nacht” parties the visual universe tends to merge with the sound. each of the two stages has something different to tell: tag for the open air, nacht for the dark and smoky room. this project is based on the belief that the story told by sound depends on the visual atmosphere in which it is played. indeed this very first ep is built between those two atmospheres, the 4 tracks of the ep could be played in any of the two scenes tag or nacht with a totally different impact on the audience. on the tag stage, both of the tracks are colorful, atmospheric and dynamic whereas on the nacht stage, they become dark, trippy and powerful. this record is the first release of the two artists x1000 on the a side and vidock on the b side. both of them are part of the bp collective since the beginning, they draw their influences from the 90s detroit and belgium techno and trance scene. its difficult not to think about artists like the martian, model 500, robert leiner or the whole r&s label while listening to these 4 tracks.

resolutely electronic, ambient and experimental with a techno key, küjuu delivers an exploration jerked and pulled about, meeting distance universes behind melodic songs found in first titles. percussions and harmonic beats makes travelling alongside a tumultuous path and at the same time, melancholic and & deep. sincerity and compositional skill, this ep takes mystery under an overpowering and rough deep bass made listening and elastic, propelling an evocative and ethereal line.

for 07 ruff draft enlists twins who turns in a dark, dystopian, club sound scape that hits all the right spots. hayworth is another alias of a well known producer to us ruff drafters, here he creates a track with an intro that teases and teases you before the beat drops and things get all sweaty. cottam digs out some acid from the hard drive, an old forgotten about track that finally gets a release.

jose rico launches the le disque record stores project: ambiwa records, a label dedicated to abstract house music. * declaration of intent ep* is a collection of songs with a history, 4 pieces of his life talking about hypocrisy referred to poverty, the trivialisation of music as money source, the days in the studio with ron trent, and the night music-workers. beyond any related stories, here you can find all the jose ricos music standards: impossible mpc percussion patterns, black keys, vocal textures, distorted kicks and tons of suspence and tension. this just means… music for the most demanding dancefloors and open minds. as it could not be otherwise, masterd by jose rico.

max mcferren checks in for the third time (but first under his given name) on 1080p, taking risks and hittin’ on life over four tracks of weirded-out acid and funk-tinged elations on the “sipps” 12”. created in a time of complete uncertainty about the future in nyc’s chinatown, mcferren explores the purity of the break and acid ecologies, utilizing a “take me to your dealer” type of alien funk vocabulary in order to explore and push his own voice into a stranger place.

the second release on modern cathedrals includes an original mix by altstadt echo supplemented with remixes crafted by donor, luigi tozzi, and asop. the inclusion of donor’s remix represents a continued effort to link together the detroit and brooklyn scenes, while the luigi tozzi remix connects modern cathedrals to the ghastly, dark styles of techno that italian artists have become so respected for. as a core member of the modern cathedrals team and a primary force behind the label’s event series, asop’s remix is the very first public release of work by this incredible new detroit-based artist. but while the artist names change from record to record, the philosophy does not. we continue in a desperate attempt to generate meaning during the short spasm of a lifetime we are given in a world that seems to conspire to prevent this effort’s realization. this situation might be inescapable, but through the rejection of complacency and dogma, we can approach our end with the bitter comfort that we were at least willing to be honest about our situation.

deep dark industrial ambient. a slowly evolving soundscape with boiling buzzing sounds, resonating through the dark world.the berserk was perhaps one of the world s best fighters, which in old norse time sworn allegiance to the norse god odin. before a battle berserkers excited each other up and occurred in bearskin or wolf skin, hence the word berserk. in the beginning of the battle they performed exceptionally talented, indifferent battlers, but in close combat they fell into berserk. then they howled like wild beasts, probably to frighten the enemy and incite their comrades and themselves, and then get into rages. a berserk in battle were said not to bother about any injuries, and was therefore until the enemy, or they died.

mikael strömbergs alter ego igor has created the album *fast & slow* who is an aspiring masterpiece in the ambient genre, the references are very clear to the 70s iconic ambient school, including satie-cage-eno-soundart, but at the same time a modern touch and a sense of the present. the story behind this album is the least frightening and fascinating as the composer strömberg was seconds away from losing his lives when the aorta ruptured all the way from top to bottom with the diagnosis: acute aortic dissection. the music became a part of his rescue and the record *fast and slow* came about as part of his healing process.
