after leaving behind the somalian pirates, geiom is cruising the sunny waters of the indian ocean when he picks up a distress signal on his scanner. he follows the signal until he locates a tiny remote island and a guy called bowly, who said that he was on his way from france to the new world, but got totally lost. judging by the age of the map he was using its easy to see how. bowly spent his time on the island hanging out with the locals who amuse themselves by creating a unique style of music on some amazing handcrafted instruments. geiom helps bowly get on his way again, and leaves him with a more useful map. some months later, bowly beams over his music as a gift from his new found homeland in canada ? the tracks are like some strange mutation of those distant tropical players and the uk-based pirate radio transmissions that bowly has been tuning into ? geiom loves the result and decides to send them straight over to transition in london for mastering and release on berkane sol. this 12 has been getting played by selectors like ? subswara crew nyc (soul motive), brackles (rinsefm), grevious angel (soul jazz), martin kemp (blunted robots), cooly g (hyperdub), shortstuff (ramp), spamchop (wigflex), oneman (rinsefm)?

night slugs announce the latest installment in their white label series - the much-anticipated debut 12 inch of london producer jam city. on the a side, the psychedelic grime interplorer ecstasy refix glows with warmth at its analog core. a jubilant tribute to the art of the grime refix, the track simultaneously recalls two disparate by-gone eras, to devastating effect. on the b side, night slugs favourite >let me bang refix< drowns a gutter house classic in sheer beams of searing fluorescent synth. jam city borrows a vintage wiley meme on closing track >shut the lights off (devil mix)<, all but void of a drum kit it hangs in suspension, awash in sublime synths. this ep is available only on limited vinyl.

double a side release from a london based unknown artist on this dark dubstep label inspired by early 90s sampling culture. first tune up is a dark and heavy stepper with sinister vocals drenched in echo. mutated basslines sit nicely under face slap snares. flip side is a nice roller that never lets up, a chunky bassline plays off the relentless beats while paranoia samples bring on the thc induced psychosis.

producer and dj, richy pitch moved from uk to ghana, west africa and took on the challenge to record an lp which drew on his many musical experiences during his stay. his goal was to record with local stars and talent and fuse the classic sound of ghanaian music with his own production skills that he had already developed in london. two years later and back to london, richy knocked on bbe records door to deliver ye fre mi richy pitch. going home late one foggy night in london, i turn the corner to see my bus waiting at the bus stop, lights on, doors open, completely empty. i get on the bus and wait, a few minutes later the driver gets on, he was hiding behind a tree. now i always call it the ghostbus. stopping and starting, traveling along are the landscapes of sound recordings, perfectly balanced between synthetic and abstract layers of sounds. ghostbus invites you to travel along an electronic road of pulses and distortion, a travel between vintage and modern atmospheres, shifting into automatic vintage synthesis gears, a journey into the dark and cold nights of london. samp gives this music his trademark ambience in confined spaces sound, helped along by nax_acid both in collaboration and with his own edit version
