the release kicks off with title track find my way which features exciting young vocalist, ria morans heartfelt tones. cade opts for swinging 909 drums and a hooky bass-lick as the driving force, while morans voice sporadically eases in and out of the groove and understated chord stabs and tension building strings fuel the musicality, resulting in a classy, deep-house workout. up next is dr. fox, embracing a similar deep, contemporary house aesthetic, with saw-wave bass hits, cosseting pads and hooky vocal snippets acting as the fundamental elements of the cut, cade then plays on subtle variations in the groove throughout its near seven minute duration, to maintain an evolving dynamism and enticement. entering the latter half of the single we have ghostryder up first, cade opts for a more upfront approach this time, bringing busy drum programming to the forefront, alongside sweeping synth tones, a tom-driven bass line and dubbed out vocal licks.

krasnodar, located around 1500km due south of moscow is where aleksander tochilkin (kott) calls home. from this city, deep in the south of the giant russian state, kott crafts and creates even deeper cuts of house music.
this, his debut ep for italian imprint dabit, is made up of three original tracks and remix by dave scott. *physics* is firmly rooted in the classic house ethos, chopped vocals and glorious strings build an impressive backdrop for the swinging hats and off beat snares. it is hard to listen to this track without thinking about the sun.

after a string of successful releases on labels such as diapham and local talk, greek producer kindimmer joins forces with instinkt to deliver a deep and tasteful slice of heavy dance floor funk. already respected for his trademark tech-infused sounds, kindimmer goes one further on this ep with swinging percussion and infectious bass hooks.

cavaan is the alter ego of a rather well known berlin producer and his fellow from milan. the duo debuts with their very much loved project. they feature a studio-recorded wonderful vocal on this hypnotically modern percussive house affair titled black snow. the original track grooves on some free swinging retro percussions and beats from the 80s machinery and a softly moving house-beat making this a very subtle killer for any dancefloor. while the vocals carry the track as light as a feather it is after the breakdown that things get really musical - you will hear yourself while listening the melodies and sequences. for the remixes turdjr has aligned a high-quality and diverse array of a current top producer. one of heidelbergs coolest kids on the block, lopazz knows that every track gets better with a lot of handmade music-and he sure is right in his interpretation of black snow. last not least i is under on the flip which is one of these tracks that sucks the listener in so deep that there is simply no escape: repetitive yet constantly changing and constantly grooving while remaining very pure! this release is filled with tracks that will long echo on the dancefloor!

two giants in dance music, totally enormous extinct dinosaurs (aka teed) & eats everything, join forces for a beast of a release on crosstown rebels. the exclusive track on the forthcoming get lost vi mixed by teed, lion, the lion is a ferocious dance-floor destroyer with a crackling, tough exterior pierced by rave fx and suspended by deeper elements creeping into the mix. remixes come courtesy of dutch producer and 4lux boss, gerd, who turns in a more swinging and suitably bass heavy sub-tech mix with added synth-line as well as a deep dub version.

3 chairs, omar s and patrice scott. this limited ep is testament to the wild basement energy that has culminated from these nights, beautifully pressed on wax for this first ever vinyl outing. remember is a swinging downbeat vocal track based around a superb vocal improvisation from newcomer chris raine. an ambitious opener, this is fine uk hip soul with warehouse dancefloor swagger to boot. next track, the benji b endorsed cookie strips the vocals right down into a swirling motif of sunrise energy. this track sounds great on the radio, but will also find favour on the more discerning soulful floors. for a contrast flip over for the kraftwerkian micro-tech of contact to hear what a werk party sounds like at a hazy-eyed 3am and finally, as if all this wasnt enough check out the dubby, spaced-out brawn of u&me which sees second outing for vocalist chris.... on this ep which rounds things off nicely. for fans of firecracker, exit records and prime numbers, this exciting and multi-faceted ep marries uk and detroit influences with consumate ease. one to watch... plays/ supported by benji b, rahaan, kev beadle, burnski, kevin reynolds etc.

after their sure-fire succession of great releases dam swindle end up on the excellent freerange imprint. and if you like the words deep along with atmospheric then this will most definitely appeal to you. from the opening title track with its lush, moody nu-groove styled pads and thunderous hand-claps these three productions simply ooze class and intensity in abundance. next is >gotta know< which rewinds back to classic house sounds and injects a sense of melody into the already swinging rhythms and punchy, detroit bass. which is then followed by >brotherman< and yet more in-depth moods, this time accompanied by jazzy, scat styled vocals for added diversity. finally we have wolf music main man krl stepping up to remix brotherman and a rather sterling job he does to. making great use of the vocal krl brings us a slowed down version with his trademark shuffling drums and a dynamic arrangement. piano stabs and a cheeky boogie synth sample all help bring his own sound to the track and round off the package perfectly.

praterei returns with their 5th instalment and so do those twins with their second successive offering to the vienna stable! the ingredients on this one are similar to the last but the result is no less stirring. the rough and ready side of the 12 belongs to the aptly entitled >house< and youll see why. never straying too far from the old school... shuffling beats and rims keep things swinging. each layer of the melody is deep in youll be whistling this later territory and intermittent vocal shouts remind us exactly what it is we are listening to. the flip beckons for you to walk with me and that you must. the beat saunters along but always with a sanguine skip and our seductive protagonist guides us through the warm textures of rich pads and stabs. this is one of those records where, for both tracks, the message could not be more perfectly translated. every aspect contributes to a common goal, and thats a rare and quite special thing.

nice price deal !!! nice price deal !!! slams rtm project starts with a bang! the pimp convention is packed with the swinging percussion that slam do so well. winding around this rhythm is a hypnotic hook and swaggering vocal sample that adds a delicate touch of uneasy tension, while chest thumping sub bass underpins all. slam are back in the house. the sides collide slows the tempo and darkens the groove. an underlying disco influence can be heard in the track, but is brought back down to the undergrowth by a super heavy bassline and creepy, pitched vocal.

tony ollivierras issued a generous number of singles and eps under the ibex moniker on rushhour, planet e, yore, and his own ibex music, and now follows up his 2010 yore release, meltdown, with absolution, though this time under his birth name. no matter: ollivierras music sounds great, whether issued under his real name or an alias, and absolution is no exception. the infectious title cut gets things moving with a bass-powered blend of claps and funky rhythms before chunky house chords and silken synth figures add to the tracks multi-layered splendour. a jazzier dimension rises to the surface of quick release when the tunes churning hi-hats are joined by royally swinging electric piano playing and luscious synth pads.phase down opts for a purer deep house sound in its focus on kick drums, claps, and futuristic synths, though the track proves that ollivierras naturally funky side cant help but emerge, here as it does elsewhere.

new kanada enters the third season with two white hot electronic tracks. >white mouse< is an acidic stormer which winds its way from old-school house - into serious dark club territory. with a shifting, swinging bassline, tough metallic toms and some killer drops - this one is a weapon in the mix. sounds like tevo howard meets luke slater. kind of. >spectrum< is deep, digital radio dub floats freely - somewhere between baby ford and a broken fm receiver. drifting melodies, haunted white noise and serious house beat. a track for late night driving, and early morning warmth.

jay west from argentina has been releasing quality deep house (the real sort that is) for the past decade, last years smile ep on bebr got some serious playlist and chart action from everybody who knows their shit, and were please to welcome him to the moodmusic family. the ep starts with blame the music, the sort of feel-good house music we used to get loads of in the early to mid 90s from the big apple. swinging beats, almost disco bass and a sunshine filled vocal are the ingredients for a tune, and jay has delivered one. this will probably not be belted by the kids house community, but real heads knows what to do with this weapon. down continues the journey with victor simonelli style keys and a bouncy bassline, making place for the low-slung in & out tune which have some serious west coast mushroom influences. we love it! to end the ep the catchy little mean machine finally brings the smile to your face.

following his release on peter van hoesens time to express late last year, sp-x drops his third ep for komisch. fans of >signal path experiments< and >field lines never end< will not be disappointed as the brussels - based producer serves up three more slices of uncompromising warehouse techno. lead track <the escape< has all the sp-x hallmarks - rock hard beats, thundering claps and a swinging groove that underpins eerie riffs and clanking metallic drums >stalker< reveals a more musical slant to sp-xs sound. it starts off with unsettling riffs, but soon the rolling drum-led arrangement changes tact and provides the backdrop for a growling chord climax. there is a similar concession on >attack pattern< bruising doubled-up drums and that unmistakably snappy sp-x percussion combine with subtle snare rolls to create a peak time arrangement. but once again an insistent chord sequence gives it the edge over functional techno. make sure to hunt this killer release down

ferdinando apicella aka kernel key adds to his extensive discography with pass it on backed with a remix by sebastian leger the release will drop on italian imprint loose records this december. a sound engineer by trade, apicellas work as kernel key is inspired by detroit techno but sounds entirely his own man. having released his first release on mkt rec, a close affiliate of loose, last year his productions are solidly growing in stature.pass it on not only marks kernel keys debut for loose but also the first remix for the imprint from the irrepressible sebastien leger, whose version of pass it on opens the ep.frenetic, swinging and massively infections, legers version is pure dancefloor mayhem and sees the revered producer inject fun and funk into the original.kernel kes original pass it on is relentless groove with short melodic loops and nagging bass doing all the required work while bizarre filtered keys cut through the tracks nicely judged breakdown for maximum build.lady red rounds off the ep with yet another squarely aimed dancefloor cut. as tight and urgent as pass it on but with slightly detuned stabs and a freakier feel, its a peak time animal of a tune.

next amazing thoughtless moover by stare5 aka bryan zentz with a huge remix of noah pred. known for his distinctive productions over the years as barada, cyan and under his own name on seminal techno labels such as primate, tronic, jericho, plus 8 and cmyk, bryan zentz reprises his stare5 role for thoughtless with three tracks of dub-fueled deepness. pushing ever outward on tides of subsonic bass, >the sprawl< emerges from cover of night, a vast expanse of sleepless chords illuminating the darkness as ripples of reverberant effects reach toward the stars. label boss noah pred adds another layer to the low end to imbue his remix with a swinging pulse, then intensifies the hypnosis with a sinuous synth that snakes its way through a winding labyrinth built from the materials of the original. >frozen fog< opens with cold yet insistent stabs that keep pace atop a bouncing dub bass line, responsive chords building pressure amidst gradually rising vapors. with equal nods to detroit and berlin, bryan zentz successfully presents his own unique vision of a classic form with >the sprawl< - solidifying his reputation as a master of the style in the process.

after keeping quiet for a year the mysterious story label proves with in 3 chapters that there still remain fresh and exciting yarns in house music worth to be told. and while the story-teller remains anonymous as always he certainly doesnt lack in distinctive style and bravura as he carves out with rich imagination and pointed quill slightly fragile sounding yet carefully interlaced swinging beat structures masterfully lined and intervowen with melancholic organ chordes and sketches of blissed out rhodes melodies.

information ghetto, also known as clapan, has had numerous releases on labels like broque, manual, dars records and multi vitamins. sometimes compared to dominik eulberg, he lives literally in the woods, where he has set up his music lab full of strange self-built sound devices. his first 12 inch on pro-tez sports a dense atmospheric deep house tune (apartment 808) together with the swinging >forest dreams< built around a marky flute solo on the a side. backed up by a fine remix of >forest dreams< from jonas bering on the flip! three hits for the coming spring.

following his successful >tears in vain 12inch< on perspectiv, promising new producer simon garcia continues his quest for the holy-grail of modern house and techno as we set forth into >cavern<. and indeed >cavern< is a breathtaking ride - a warm pulsating synth pattern is coaxed along by a dusty, filtered kick before we are greeted with rushing bright percussion and a thunderous lead kick. wild fx open up the floor with the first ecstatic break and from there on the track runs with a mind of its own, exploding with rapturous drama and tasteful restraint. bringing us back down to earth at least for a moment. ‚bass ii bass‘ treads more swinging, groovy territories in a classic ny styled house track, updated for 2012. freaky, pitching vocals swirl around a tight bass-led rhythm section, telling a futuristic story of hopeless hedonism. the emotive-piano house vibes of ‚options‘ will likely raise a few tingling hairs for those well acquainted with steve bug‘s recent dj sets. the perfect blinded-by-the-morning-sun moment, mr. garcia really shows of his classy production skills with this slinky, moody slice of classic house.

after some time spent entertaining from distant lands, the circus company brings it all back home with a release purposefully written to pay tribute to the breeding ground for their unique strain of house music, paris. seuil stands proud as one of her most cherished creations, a man ever evolving as an artist from the structure and function of minimalist dancefloor music through to the esoteric expression and ambience of jazz, channelling that same swinging spirit that has characterised much of the work on circus company. the release of his -chamaeleonidae- album proved to the world that there was a strange musical spirit in seuil that manifested itself in live drums and languid keys, character traits you could associate with his fellow parisians dop. the collaborations between them have been many in recent years, and once again they come together to both complement and test each others styles in a surprising vision of what pop music could sound like if crafted with soul and imagination. the beats stay tight and steady throughout the three tracks that make up -fluctuat nec mergitur-, driving a foggy brew of strings, synths and drones into a commanding groove. meanwhile the composition gently rises and falls on waves of melody, as particular harmonies swell in to carry you away to a very blue kind of euphoria. such drama and passion captures the essence of both seuil and his beloved city in one heady brew of dancefloor excellence.

alberto pascual analytic trail after anagrams ep in 2010, releases for the second time a project of one of the most internationally famous spanish producers, alberto pascual. his works have been played by richie hawtin, dubfire, markantonio, adam beyer, cristian varela, joseph capriati and others techno giants. bailando, is a creative and tasteful ep formed by four track, including a remix of manuel anos a.k.a. psyk, already reached the success with is project released on richie hawtins minus label. the first track is bailando, it has a powerful charge with its massive groove and obstinate synth that flies hasty on a swarm of rides. no breaks in this tune, techno device. bailando continues to leave its mark through another spanish producer, his name is manuel anos a.k.a. psyk. he creates an amazing remix made by a weighty kick and a compressed bassline, this compact but hard beat is surrounded by acid sounds and increasing effects that make of this track a dark techno wave of course.amok has a rousing modulation that directs the track in a swinging vibe with linear claps and hihats. but is just the beginning, after few minutes something changes, a dirty synth in background starts to support an hurry beat that goes on till the break. here everything seems to quiet till the restart, where the ride rules and nobody cant avoid its rage. final lap with homonymous track of this ep. this artist on this tune can show his eclecticism using a techno unbreakable step with electronic cyclic string. wonderful underground soundtrack. so young, so strong, so techno. this is another quality touch for analytic trail, good music must be appreciated.

from the estrela archives of exactly that period comes the original, which was crafted by portuguese calapez at the time, as well as the newly edited pyjamas remix. calapez builds the theme monkeymonkey on top of a playful piano roll and swinging beats – simple and pure. with a wink the pyjamas remix carries that approach and the minimalist melody on, while adding a nice portion of acid. but the absolute highlight of this release, as already alluded in the incoming quote is definitively the more than cutting edge house remix of sacco vanzetti duo. funk, power, tempo and lightness: its got the ground formula to spin itself into the perpetual hunting grounds of the absolute house purist.

say hello to rest! ...the new label of herb lf (westpark unit, gush collective, draft recordings, supafeed) and phil decker (sensual touch recordings)! for a start the two labelrunners are entering their brand new stage in person as their project discoshit. after recently having taken part on the rhythm kings compilation by traveller records, next to ooft, nicholas or leonidas, they now present their debut ep strike a pose! heavy bass dub meets deep disco on the starter strike a pose! with its dubby vibe it stands for the spirit of the time. sound of... raises the pressure with a symbiosis of 80s funk and pure housesound. its getting hot,baby! breakers and househeads agree on deep chords and swinging handclaps on the dancefloor. if roy ayers would do slomo house, it might sound like biwak. crackling jazz warms up the cold club or serves up the perfect pick for a sunrise set. filtermadness and sample patchwork, in the end number one sneaks into the prime time with finesse and pop appeal. on top of that strike a pose! is presented in a stylish cover artwork by elinasolomonov(arte tv).

having played host to the first two daphni edits 12 inches, resista return with the label debut of one tom croose.
one half of ny duo worst friends, toms previous discographic output was a limited & stamped 7 inch that featured a killer edit of the macs >never going back again<. for resista no. 3 he delves into territories brazilian, with >cho chua<, a faultless rework of a certain tropicalista, designed for discerning dancefloors, circa ad 2011. he loops up the swinging guitar intro, which combined with the vocal hook makes for a heady mix. its an uplifting, joyous ode to all things tropical!
on the flip the >dukes dub< is a subtler more restrained version that makes greater use of effects and surprisingly brings the songs percussive elements to the fore... not quite as direct as its sibling on the a-side but definitely as effective!
