the yore captain returns to his own yore imprint on the labels 21st release. shadow city presents different visions of funky house grooves. the a sides the y theme gets deeply moving with a funky house pulse before stoking the fire with the addition of speaking voices (trippingly intoning the q&a what are we doing this for? and the music), a move which single-handedly jumpstarts the track. after the voices appear, the grooves intensity escalates and plunges deeper, its gyroscopic house swing becoming more dizzying and torrential with each passing bar before coming to an acidy storming end. in its opening moments, shadow city opts for a deeper and more serenading vibe by comparison, but thats traded in for a slinkier attack at the three-minute mark that grows progressively more ferocious as the track makes its drastic upwards ascent. a trippin dangerous murder weapon to say the least. watch your heads! the b sides b2 track, mumbai dweller keeps the focus primarily on the bottom end, specifically a strutting tribal-house funk groove thats dragged even deeper by a throbbing bass undertow, adding dark chords to it, giving this ep a darker feeling towards the end. to sum it all up: this is raw house music at its best!

the remixes come from prominent producers around europe, so starting chronological from a2 to b2: sian has appeared on a lot on raves and parties with his surf board. he is an international traveller who loves to be reminded of the times when surfing farmers left their houses with door frames and no doors. his remix works in a way a countdown functions. building up tension at an incredible speed, this track is set out to explode... but sian would not be sian if he had not developed a club friendly torture . sian rides the wave of superfatt basslines and adds a sequence that sounds as if someone had replaced his teeth with thin pieces of metal, creating a humming voice comparable to one of a jaws harp. sian keeps the tension going with very few elements and shows he is a true masterof techno.
secret cinema has been accompanying us since his first releases mid of the 90ies and we truly believe quality prevails, not to mention his mayor chart hit just 3 months ago with “shake ur tech-ass”. well secret cinema is unbelievably massive in his production. we dont see how anyone can fatten up the sound more than he can. but it is not only about tuning and pimping and pimping and tuning... his remix is a masters piece of perfectionbecause it creates something rare... deep emotional hydraulic strength. this is like diving head on into a pool of silicone and getting sucked into it. this track has an hypnotic feel to it that is comparable to radiohead.

for the 5th installment of adultnappers illustrious ransom note, we welcome into the fray paul kominek, otherwise known as pawel (dial/orphan ear) with two sublimely beautiful compositions of modern electronic music. there is not many words to describe the feeling of these pieces. they run deep into the soul of house and techno. moving, yet intelligent, pawels plaintive take on dance music is unique in sound, but profoundly universal in feeling, connecting to emotions that seem rare these days on the dance floor. with powerful peak time remixes by new yorks alexi delano and brendon moeller, ransom note part five should make some noise in the coming months. from the desk of adultnapper, as inspired by lines and curves… as you well know, parallel paths are foreordained entities of diversity. as they travel further away from their origins, the more attraction tends to set in, not as a spiritual mechanism, but, rather, as a physical replication or limitless mimicry. one trajectory makes reference to the other, leading to a barrier, a zero crossing, some sort of cessation of thought. lines become curves and act as waking agents for the soul as it approaches its limit. sometimes this process is disrupted, as is the case this time. i have lost something on the way and i seem to be stuck in the place where i lost it. i feel anchored here and need to find a way to move again. there is not much time.

as a point of no return is referred in different contexts the date from which a return to the starting point is no longer possible. johnny ds oslo 014 confirms this with a truly musical climax. johnny d. presents after his hit >orbitalife< last year >point of no return<- a house track, which again emphasise the special feeling of that producer to tremble the dancefloor. here re playful vocals and a sexy groove on the program. also gardaness on the b side is a title not to be sneezed at. the nearly nine- minute tool is characterized by the impulsive bass line, which is highlighted by atmospheric vocals.

feeling lucky? stockholms high plains drifters jackpot show their cards for our 9th (and 2nd to last) installment in the rvng of the nrds 12inch series. on the a-side, the duo cuts a disco diamond to pieces with handclap slapback and string stabs a plenty. the b-side gets ahead of the beat on a sure bet of dreamy arpeggiation and rolls the bones on an early house classic. this is an ace up a (record) sleeve if we ever saw one.

releasing >jeffer< as the first single is quite unsual regarding other power tracks that feature robot voices but who cares really anyway? berlin buddies modeselektor made their version of >jeffer< and themself say it sounds like the good days of audion when he is not so minimal - and they make it to the point. mdslktrs remix is a full on techno mix but playable for house or new rave djs as well. it extends every genres bouderies and presents a sound that everybody can meet at. on the flip you get para ones epic version which shows that he is still top of his game. after his classic remix for boys noize >my head< he answers >jeffer< with this banger. para one is pushing the good feeling of the original track to another level by adding new melodies and an epic breakdown in the middle of his mix. 2 killer remixes!

we are proud to announce that no one less than greeks firstrate techno artist, axel karakasis, is featured with a huge track on technopassion number six. >buggy< is, as you d expect, a quite funky track that s packed with a ton of rhythm and cool synth lines with a oldschool feeling. another must have from axel that will please every crowd! on the flipside are two tracks from austrias uprising techno hero george le nagelaux. >steam engine< goes unstoppable forward like a steamroller. the baseline is really monstrous and accompanied by a catchy synthline. surely a number one prime time burner! >industrialisation< gots a proper base too and mystic sounds mixed with driving beats: dark, atmospheric and well donne. >industrialisation ep< is a solid, highly playable three tracker that no one should miss out!

polytone remains in deep territories and has signed two of the most exciting tracks of drei farben house (brut!) so far. on final call the berlin resident succeeds in building a bridge between minimal aesthetics and the musicality of deep house which has rarely been heard in this form. in this 8-minute track a whole series of musical themes are flashing yet held together by a lot of instinctive feeling. on looking back to control drei farben house is just as deep and melodically interesting and again relies on unusual track structures. in his remix matthias vogt from motorcitysoul works out the chords and melody themes of the original even more and turns final call into an exciting, swelling affair whereas newcomer baldo (dubhe) transforms the original track into a brilliant and wonderfully classic piece of dubtechno.

this project started during the 2007 winter music conference when mr. marquez dropped there a selfmade bootleg of michael jacksons billie jean called mikelata and it was a pure happiness feeling on the dancefloors. 1 year later rocco, danny marques & dj fudge got together for a serious studio session with the perfect voice for this production: ricky galliano, a swiss based party and nightlife personality. the project was ready months before one of the sadest day of musics history happened: michael jackson passed away. now we changed the project in a tribute for the king of pop.

pong musiq presents sven schienhammer aka quantec! he grew up in the 80s and have been working on electronic music since 1995. he maintains a fruitful relationship with the styrax label and produced a plethora of dub tech gems over the recent years in labels like echocord, millions of moments, meanwhile, smallfish and francois ks wavetec label. he s been considered the natural successor of moritz von oswald and mark ernestus (basic channel). this 3rd ep on pong musiq records contains 4 absolutely massive tracks for all the dub-techno fans out there. sven proves his amazing talent and moves his sound to the next level. floating music with hovering chords and his characteristic kick-drum shuffle, shimmering keys edging into the mix for a truly tripped out excursion from the deepest recesses of berlins techno dub vault. it is very hard to capture the feeling arising from this great music in words.
