From his Mixmag >future hero< tag, to his EFX1000 tutorial videos for Pioneer (he has been likened to James Zabiela but with bigger bass lines) and his ongoing residency at the Dirty Disco in Leeds (The Northern Light was the original home for the club night which the EP title pays homage to), the only piece missing from his jigsaw was the production side of things, until now. He recently teamed up with Spektre to launch their new Respekt label with the >Cuernos Cubanos< collaboration, and now we are very proud to present Matts first ever solo productions, brought together as >The Northern Light EP<. >Pack Your Trunks< is dark twisted statement of intent, with a Hearthrob-esque hook giving off the feeling that the track is ever so slightly on the brink of loosing it, before that tough gloomy groove reminds you just why you were listening in the first place, and why you have to listen to it just that one more time... >Triptup< attacks with a driving upbeat vibe that also arrives with a crazy tinged edge to it, keeping the dance floor bouncing off the walls, this has never failed to receive anything less than devastating reactions during its many roadtests on our travels. >The Swinger< rounds off the EP with a kinky tech houser that swaps the power of its 2 harder brothers for some chirpy tomfoolery, without compromising on its absolute effectiveness to well and truly rock the party whilst getting completely stuck in your head. And dont forget the breakdown...
