pure emotion carried by cosmic soul in the guise of underground melodic techno is what justin zerbst offers us with his first release on metamorphic. justin might be considered up and coming despite having released his first record on the highly regarded australian label red ember in the 90s. since then the melbourne based producer has released only a handful but extremely sought after records on eklo, seekers, and red ember. now his music, deeply influenced by detroit and especially midwest techno finds a natural home on metamorphic. four tracks of pure analog machine soul, created in the 90 s but never released until now, capturing the raw energy and excitement of that era. robert feuchtel at fat of excellence production services cologne, bridges the divide between now and then with his unparalleled mastering skills.
embryonic ep by columbus, oh artist titonton is brought back to the forefront exactly 20 years after its original release on metamorphic recordings. 4 tracks of that warm and deep midwest techno like nobody else can do it. titonton s totally unique style has definitely withstood the test of time, and like most music created independently of trends it will always sound fresh. we re living in the times that this music was created for and later on down the road when space djs play these cuts from the orbital terrace, it will be for their times too. out of print since the initial pressing it has now been remastered from the original studio tapes for optimum sound quality.
hakim murphy has been on a roll these past couple of years. he is on a roll and on a mission to take the chicago house music he loves into the future in the hakim style, staying true to the jack, groove, and feeling of chicago while at the same time exploring new territory and his own inner space. after his last ep on metamorphic, wiggles, hakim has gone on to produce a string of releases on labels such as his own synapsis records and remixes including a stunning reinterpretation of the classic welcome to chicago by future forward feat. john simmons. now we are again proud to present a flollow up ep from hakim called black robots having sex with a very special remix by metro areas morgan geist! this 4 track ep shows hakim at his best covering the full range of his personality, deep melodies, jacking rhythms, and sexy funky robotics. morgans remix of jupiter poop is stripped down, thick and warm, focusing on the subtle pulsating sub bass of the original with teases of shimmering melody and solid crisp percussion throughout..
