he is young, he is from bulgaria and he has a big passion for music. having previously released music only on his own label, this is his first venture into the outside world. genial gladly welcomes on board stefan dichev.
his desert brothers ep, consists of 3 tracks, hide, withdrawal and, of course, desert brothers. it’s not easy to classify the ep in a specific music genre. all 3 tracks have a very distinctive drums programming and groovy bass. they could be easily played in a big club during the peak time of a set or at a dark basement during the after hours. they have this strange deepness that calms you down but at the same time the first kick after the break easily gets your fist up.
here at the genial headquarters, we always try to find the balance between things, people, relationships, music and maybe stefan dichev has just done that with his desert brothers ep… he found the balance!

we dig deep into trax s vaults to unearth some unreleased super rare versions of some trax classics. vol. 1 contains two ron hardy reel to reel edit s of jamie principle & frankie knuckles classics -bad boy- and -baby wants to ride-. very different to the final released versions these are personal edits ron made to play at the music box, chicago in the mid-late 80 s. released in conjunction with trax 2015.

the mysterious dream lovers arrive on uber with the super mellow brasil. a tropical reggae disco tinged balearic shuffler, all loose percussion and soft guitars. reminiscent of studio in their heyday. abel from the redlight records crew dims the lights and strips the og back. layback and feel the sunshine on your eyelids. the second remix comes from maciek sienkiewicz of very polish cut-outs. a quirky almost off beat stripped back version bringing out the guitars and adding extra synths pads. uber warming us up with some balearic heat.

limited information on this release, it contains two super edits that have been heavily road tested on a certain soundsytem that is currently doing the rounds. not much information beyond that but the music speaks for itself. slow mo with impact and energy. more soon.

edit & dub record tokyo presents tee scott unreleased. these cuts were championed by larry levan at paradise garage. the well known sergio mendes “i’ll tell you” unheard extended version & the abstract tee scott “diamond dub” surely never existed until now. super limited, only available now!

two paris legends reunite for the latest outing on the always fresh adult only label. owner chris carrier links up with his old pal dan ghenacia for this three-track ep, which includes a remix from german talent, diego krause. chris and dan last got together for adult only back in 2007, with their ‘tumble blur’ ep and they recently hit the studio together again to roll out two super dope slices of heads-down dance floor funk. as you might expect from two highly experienced veterans, the tracks on offer are both crisp, epitomising that classic house flow with a sprinkling of contemporary flavour. the 2nd degree bounces, whirrs and chirps all over the place while the 4x4 beat keeps the energy levels high. just a sin is a more serious cut, with a solemn presence and stuttered beats together with a hushed vocals giving it a mysterious feel. unison wax bossman diego krause powers up just a sin with his remix, putting a firm emphasis on the bassline, which is strong, murky and unrelenting. a deep, dark slice of groovy house for the after-hours crew

our 11th release comes from hamburg duo suburb. after solid releases on quarter notes or thema the german duo delivers this 4 tracker release luv is common. a side goes into a deep journey through sweet chords and melodies with raw beats. b side goes into a more classic house feeling with two super groovy tracks with shaking samples. luv is common is a beautiful piece of modern house music.

super hot reissue of the in-demand original clear vinyl 12inch version of ‘give me a dance by kym released on the small but collectable baltimore label award records. with its electro / proto house groove, it became an anthem on chicagos wbmx in the early eighties and with a sexy vocal, killer synths and phat analogue b-line, this delicious slice of boogie goodness has recently found its way to the top of many a wants list since being championed by dj harvey. superb!

carl finlow could be regarded as one of the cornerstones of not only 20/20 vision, but also of british electronic music. his boundary pushing, electro-tinged productions under the random factor alias make for essential 20/20 listening, as does his work as 1/4 of 2020soundsystem. while this year has been about looking to the future of the label, we also felt it was important that we looked deep into our history and revisited one of our all time classic records: random factor – broken mirror. on the a side carl has prepared a new ‘revisted’ version for this release and this is accompanied by the original version from 1999. for the remixer we thought long and hard about someone we felt would be suitable. someone with pedigree in the electro scene, who would feel as passionate as we do about making this release something truly special. there was only really one person we wanted and luckily when we contacted legowelt he was a big fan of the original track and was super keen to get onboard the project. we hope you enjoy these two pioneers of the electro scene going head to head x

embezzlement society takes us back to the early days of 80s hip-hop with his ‘rough quarters ep. on his record the man from belfast heavily relies on funk-based drum loops as were popular in the glorious days of old school hip-hop. the results are two super casual tracks with a cool hip-house attitude just perfect for hip-house lover drei farben house who took the chance to contribute a remix in his slick and smooth style, merging the raw drums with some tender rhodes. tenderpark regular roman rauch finishes off the ep and slows down the tempo in his remix concentrating on the originals of the samples and displaying his mastery with the mpc once more. as always all tracks have been mastered and cut by helmut erler at dubplates & mastering.

throw is the 1st track here, which manages to loop a refrain and bass that candy staton anthem, all the while sounding like a forgotten moodymann mpc jam. vocals, skipping snares, a bouncing tambourine & one of the finest bassline ever written (by someone else) compell you to dance. need your love is a heads down sample house jam. it’s looping vocal, super tight drums, woozy chord stabs and sirens make it feel like the result of a studio session between a 90’s dubbed out louie vega & man-like switch (before he went feral).

soak up the sound of sunshine with this fantastic ep of super hot caribbean disco delights

a black, very black, vinyl record which stands out compared to previous releases on limited. the sixth chapter of andrea belluzzi’s label is titled black series because its objective is to devastate the ordinary lines of techno and let loose the dark black wings which are the base of the project. on side a, mike storm and transientx4 lead us through a gradual scale of mysterious and mechanical loops capable of hypnotizing while increasing the level of pathos. this culminates the gradual build up to the third track, produced by andrea belluzzi, with a perfect balance between dark techno and ambient in a mental voyage which seems to never lose itself during the entire 7 minutes with the perfect energy for the dancefloor. the record ends with the work of ken karter which, although is strictly mental and super hypnotic, manages to offer a distinct danceable rhythm marked by low frequencies which remain slow but captivating with a wide array of sounds which grow without boring the listener.

ep starts with my m my s track which was edited with a monoplay voice and collaboration, a classy melodic deep and box track to start the set with. the extended play continue with a «give me love» bomb - groovy and super foxy house track like a colorful kaleidoscope of sounds. no time for regrets is tribal colored and groovy tech house track to be liked by a producers with a thin smooth taste. nehundredandninthizm is ode to a one of most famous synthesizers in a world containing the sounds of it spicy beats and bright percussion line.
