magical, mystical and straight from the heart: after -until then, goodbye- and -a day in the life- the hamburg based art curator, dj and producer lawrence releases yoyogi park - the third part of an album trilogy for mule musiq in collaboration with artist stefan marx. the album explores unknowingly relations between his very own ambient productions, acoustic sound experiments and the driving force of the dancefloor. the artwork is showing a 360 degree view of the yoyogi park in the heart of tokyo, that stefan marx created for a fanzine for the printed matter nyc book fair in 2015.

walter gas ep from marcos coya is the first release of gas grabaciones, vinyl-only label from the small south american country uruguay. contains two original tracks and a blasting electro-techno remix from argentinian artist franco cinelli aka psynote. analog machines were used on making this tracks and an excelent mastering work, ensuring great sound at playing it. it’s a 300 limited copies release, with cover art from uruguaian artist carlos paez vilaro.

two years ago i played at studio 9 in vilnius, lithuania. the following day i missed my flight home and ended up spending an extra day, which gave me a chance to explore the city with my friend linus, who took me to the contemporary art centre. it was there i spotted a book named ‘rojus’, that linus told me translated as ‘paradise’. the word and striking cover of the book stuck in my mind. a few days after returning home, i turned on to a national geographic documentary named ‘designed to dance’, explaining the courtship rituals of birds of paradise. as i watched, i jokingly began drawing similarities between these birds’ attempts to captivate and impress the opposite sex with dance, and the way strangers try to attract one another in clubs and interact on the dance floor. this gave me the idea of creating a record of functional club music, sequenced as if it were a club night, from doors to closing, using samples of these birds of paradise and their habitat. thus, rojus. leon vynehall 2016

aether series is home for bass heavy and dj-friendly experimental music and sound art. the first release of the series is ikolas mini-lp titled *core*, originally recorded for *machine soul - the documentary film* soundtrack. the film focuses on pioneering finnish electronic music artists such as mika vainio, jori hulkkonen and jimi tenor. the score is composed as a tribute to their work and is now released as an independent piece on vinyl.

traditional folk music from belgium, performed by swedish youngsters, met by art music with inspiration from the dj-culture. during the fall of 2015, guf (gävleborgs ungdoms folkband) released an album called guf4life where one of its songs got the dj & composer slim vic to react. the rain drenched sounds in the original composition worked as the fundament for two different musical journeys, signed by slim vic. part 1, is a varying composition that take the listener in and out of club music, ambient and the original tracks folk music. part 2, is a very dystopic world of sounds clearly on the border of art music.

the new local happening in tulum comunite launches its very own imprint featuring a mexican unknown entity, providing two dubbed-out house workouts in addition to a remix by one of romania’s front runners, vid. through an accordion-like melody “untitled a” takes the listener to a melancholic journey into the latin bathed beatwork of the producer, while “untitled b” explores the mystical approach of the artist through gregorian chants over a techno drum base – this clearly portraying the dynamism that both the label/gathering and the producer offers its audience. vid steps up on the remix duties with a power-up version of “untitled b”, exploring and experimenting with the rhythmical narrative the original mix offers. overall, comunite’s debut pressing is clearly a demonstration of a new wave of producers and ideals coming from one of latin america’s hotbeds for art.

crash course in science are a post punk band that formed in 1979 in philadelphia. the band members, dale feliciello, mallory yago and michael zodorozny, met while attending art school, where they began to experiment with crude electronics and off-beat lyrics. ccis avoided conventional instrumentation by using toy instruments and kitchen appliances to augment the distorted guitar, drums and synthesized beats.

mexican duo 4004 and sebastian vorhaus aka soul of hex have had a great few years under their various monikers with releases for dirt crew, vicario ltd and of course cvmr where they return to here following their debut ‘lip reading’. this inaugural release was accompanied by remixes from larry heard and put soul of hex on the map for the duo, with support coming from the likes of dj sneak, art department, sebo k, breach, shadow child and huxley to name but a few.

cromby is an exciting addition to the london house music scene: originally hailing from belfast he has made camp in the british capital and brought his mpc 2000 xl with him. the young man who has grown up listening to chez damier and moodymann makes use of the japanese sampler from akai in a highly fresh and creative way combining raw drums with sweet and melancholic pads and chords. on his * planets and parks ep* cromby displays a very nice balance between a traditional deep house understanding and a forward thinking attitude and is thus just perfect for tenderparks’s idea of musicality. as far as the artwork of the record is concerned the beautiful black and white image is the last part of tenderparks current series concieved by art director till sperrle and photographer magdalena bichler. and as you ve come to expect from tenderpark all tracks have been mastered and cut by helmut erler at dubplates & mastering once more.
