2 tracks of deep techno inspired house from 17 yr old music enthusiast alfie. born in the village of oxted, home to a number of electronic dignitaries, alfie has been raised on a balanced diet of garage, dubstep, jungle, dnb, and hip hop which he has further infused with his personal love for old school ska and jazz. taking key elements from each of these styles alfies music is deftly relevant in your ear and on the floor. lead track uncomfortably numb is a high energy throbbing slice of techno laced deep house, with a reverberating bassline driving an almost industrial main hook, whilst layers of clinical percussion and pads snap and swirl throughout the mix. about midday punches through the enveloping gloom with an inescapable rave inspired main hook which intensifies the tracks pulsating wall of manufactured sounds. having already played at fabric aged 16 and with a number of shows pencilled for 2012, including his glade debut and eastern electrics festival, this double a-side is set to eclipse the work of a number of his more senior peers.

with daughter & son on the b-side of the vinyl, the freiburg native presents a groovy, playful and impulsive sound that is guaranteed to let a summer feeling arise. set between classical techno and modern tech-house the title track daughter & son points consistently towards summer. patrick kunkel & dirk redmer refine their remix with a hypnotic bass line, but then let the track, with its dub elements and the choir parts, drift so incredibly beautiful into the sunrise, that one would wish for an infinite loop. the beach with its more playful harmony feeling and percussive gantry gives a first taste of the open-air season 2012.

jorge ciccioli shows up again on rrygular. with his new release >southern tool< the argentinian dives really deep into the minimal genre. by focussing on the most important elements he created three handy and driving dj tools. and although the tunes are already well arranged there is room to experiment while playing. the track >sinatsuma< comes with a nice signature phrase that might get stuck in your head. the whole b face is reserved for the remix by franco cinelli who turned the main track into a dubby techhouse tune of almost 10min. nice one.

steve bug drops a new outstanding 12inch on his own highly prolific poker flat recordings. those grooves is the perfect primer for his upcoming album (due out in autumn 2012), and sees the man in fine form - masterfully in control of his sound and producing tracks with a depth of dancefloor knowledge most other producers would die for. those grooves, the lead track locks into its exquisitely crafted groove early on, holding a taut balance between its individual elements. mid way through its 10 minutes, bug drops the tempo and lets the groove breath, before bringing it all back home - an audacious late night club weapon. the flip side is no less dramatic – tell me why creeps up, evolving slowing but surely – before an edgy, freaked out bass line drops over the crisp drums. a true peak time burner with enough energy and tension to smash any floor.

on her first ep, a.n.i.c.e. composed a track which is deep and full of emotions. >wait for me< is the official wake-up call for all the daydreamers and dally fairies. its marvelous vocals capture the listeners attention. dj le rois remix is more the four to the floor part of this ep. because of the driving bassline not even the last foot will stand still. >the dawn< is boosted by percussion elements and vocals that can only be sung by fairies underline this emotional track.
