ltd nice price - twenty years after the 5th chapter, the story continues. chapter vi celebrates the very best of todays underground. limited edition 3xlp. twenty years is a long time. when xl recordings released the 5th chapter in 1995, the world was a very different place. tupac shakur was still alive, america was yet to elect a black president and the internet was just something youd read about. ecstasy, jungle and hardcore were shaping club culture in the uk and defining the way that a generation of youth moved, sounded and looked.

the debut album by frankie goes to hollywood was released in 1984 after the runaway success of the singles relax and two tribes. it had orders of over a million copies and went straight in at number one in the uk album chart. produced by trevor horn, it was seen as a ground-breaking release and helped define pop music production in the eighties.

1994’s “flava in ya ear” captures one of those moments in hip hop that can be called career defining for nearly all involved. of course this was craig mack’s biggest selling single, landing at number 9 on the billboard hot 100 and hitting platinum status.

on initial release, this ep was overshadowed by the two released on either side of it – how could it not be? both the journey and gotta believe were huge anthems all over the rave scene. but time has shown that this excellent ep deserves a second chance – both tunes are wicked glimpses of a bygone era, yet both stand proud in the history of hardcore, and now they have been beautifully remastered and rereleased!

this ep was absolutely huge when originally released, and the same is expected for this wonderful remaster and repress. much sought after, and deservedly so, a big ep from back in the day is finally on its way….

repress !! students red axes are very excited to present the first part of their new project called: trips, a multi media venture combining music, film and travelling across the globe in pursuit of extra ordinary collaborations. niv arzi and dori sadovnik are seeking to discover new grounds and sounds, and to record local musicians, indigenous instruments and present workshops for youth music schools. in march of 2017, the israeli duo touched down in africa for the first time, and set up camp in both ethiopia and ivory coast, yielding in africa, a triple header ep which features three slices of contemporary body music, with both east and west african musical motifs. the project will always present a musical release, on vinyl and digital, that was created on the trip, accompanied with a documentary, showing the whole journey.
