this will make album number four to feature steve morse on guitar and the third with keyboardist don airey. as previously reported, concrete information on the album title is, shall we say, up in the air. theres a big question mark over the name at the moment. and possibly an exclamation mark as well. vocalist ian gillan told classic rock magazine.

taking charge of the first release is lucy, who has evolved his distinct sound signature by reconciling the deeply personal with the esoteric, and by harmonizing the spheres of technology and biology. whether he is acting in the role of producer, dj, performer, or stroboscopic artefacts curator, lucys clear passion for creative evolution and mutation is something that continues to attract new listeners, and keeps giving his current supporters new reasons to continue tuning in. ep opener the hermit is eight minutes of spacious and cerebral techno. rolling drums are buried deep as little flecks of sound design peel off the groove. occasional bell hits bring a sombre and languid feel despite the drive of the drums, and it is the sort of perfectly absorbing track that will suck you down a 5am rabbit hole. on the flip, the high priestess is a similarly mental work out that is empty and eerie, with distant drones and yawning pads outlining a vast underground space. the drums here are again rubbery and rolling, but a little more prominent, and the whole thing manages to be both soothing and unsettling. after this fine ep starts the label in style, a remix ep from blawan will follow.

optimo music are delighted to present the second full-length from the golden filter, still / alone. after relocating to london and playing shows around europe for a year and a half, self-imposed pariahs penelope trappes and stephen hindman delved into creating a two-sided existential opus by renting out old studio spaces around the uk and using mostly analog 80 s instruments, machines and effects. an album about being in love with pure solitude, when still // alone is separated into two distinct sides, record one, still, is a hypnotic meditation for the nightclub. wavy patterns of sound and light bounce off of penelopes literary vocal bursts, layered over the ominous deep synths and arpeggiators, held together only by a strict 4/4 beat. the rhythm, ironically forcing the body to move, however internally focused and mindful, still. record two, alone, takes the club offline and into the fringes of raw, odd pop.

label boss spartaque delivers a massive 3 tracker on the first codex vinyl release. in the beginning sets forth a commanding bassline while acidic synths move fluidly with the rhythm and distinct arpeggios come together to take you into the darkness. amber room stomps through the room with an elastic groove, hi hats sessions and deep basslines, while clearing the path for growling synths and melodic overtones layered with a sexy diva vocal sample. the ep closes with a track titled berliner goes the rave collaboration with spartaque s good friend greenjack, which delivers a grinding bassline in combination with the hypnotic male vocals of the haunting kind, eerie notes and a mysterious vibe throughout.

after an ep on creme organization off-shoot jericho one as dj plant texture, dona basile now assumes his dona alias for a new ep on the main label. entitled the v.g.p sessions, it features four new cuts from the italian, with three of them being dj pt mixes. up first is a live cut version of energia , a bristling electro track with globular bass and coarse hits. turbulent but full of synth based serenity, it is a fine start. cigarettes (djpt mix) is rugged and broken, with glossy idm synths and corrugated drums all loosely arranged into something prickly and unsettling. the deads at twelve (djpt mix) then gets even more fucked up, with rusty synths and blown out drums making for a dystopian house groove that will likely soundtrack the apocalypse. last but not least, nr. 13 (djpt mix) mixes up detroit synths, wild acid, heavenly chords and chopped up, buried deep vocal samples into something that will fire every synapse in your body. this is outlier stuff from dona that sounds like little else.

3 years ago, superpitcher made this mesmerizing remix of joakim s cover of neil young s on the beach. the buzz was instant, with djs from dixon to tim sweeney, dj tennis to mike simonetti asking us for the files of this extended deep techno cut. 3 years later we re finally releasing it as a joint crowdspacer / hippie dance release with an additional 20min long (!!) incredible ambient mix.

dj t-1000 drops 4 classic hard-edged cuts of pure detroit techno on third ear. born and raised in detroit and based in berlin dj t-1000 is alan oldham, owner of detroit labels generator and pure sonik, and a gifted techno dj. also an accomplished graphic illustrator, known globally for his iconic artwork for djax-up-beats, +8 records, transmat, astralwerks and many other electronic music labels, including third ear. alan did the artwork for the defenders of the deep house world ep curated by mike huckaby, and he has done the artwork for his third ear ep also.

the eleventh release of tiefenrausch sets the start for the third cycle of five deep techno releases. coming up with a four track ep by upwellings who contributes his duby tales from the underworld to the tiefenrausch catalogue. with echoes from the past upwellings brings the entrance into this musical journey. the immersive groove of stones lullaby takes us into the deepness of this laid-back dubtechno sound. when the lights fade away is the dancefloor focused tune on the b-side of the vinyl while hearing the solar wind covers the ambient side of the genre and brings us back to the shore. the release is designed by alex ketzer who joins in for a collaboration with the illustrators magdalena paz and florian gassmann for the next five releases of the tiefenrausch label. the audio is mastered by salz music and the ep comes shrink wrapped.
andy compton, under his kick squad and the rurals aliases, delivers an ep of late 90s and early 2000s house jams for temporary state. modern sounding deep house vibes with deep undercurrents of dub and timeless house all merge together to form an essential slab of wax.
