iron curtis is back on hudd traxx with the second installment of his lights ep. much like the first round that dropped earlier in the year, the man like johannes paluka is on sterling form, dealing in the kind of refined yet earthen, deep but punchy house music hes built his name on to date. spectral is the consummate opener, deft piano chords and rock solid drums with additional dubby fx pulsing through the mix. well well well is a sunnier affair aiming for that euphoric terrace moment, while see ya brings a rough swing to the party with a cosy, intimate line in soulful sample licks. l&p finishes the ep off with a warm, acidic bassline and more of that deep diving beatdown business.

the lights, the eps title track is a profound and complex story, never forcing itself upon the listener but gently picking him up in real sophisticated (production) manner. the second original track, -blckout-, is based upon a more repetitive structure. a deep male vocal, intertwining with a mystical synth-line and driving percussions gives this track its compelling energy. the b-side of the release consists of two remixes by myny and echonomist giving it both clubby structure and a beautiful-warm atmosphere.

mike lundy was born and raised in nu�unau, on the island of oahu in hawaii. from an early age, lundy s original compositions caught the coveted attention of herb ono, the legendary owner of honolulu s sounds of hawaii recording studio. in 1980, lundy recorded a solo lp entitled the rhythm of life. unfortunately, he spent so much money on production that nothing was left for promotion. it went nowhere upon release.

sascha ciminiera is a familiar face from footjob, member of the labels own supergroup pallaspeople and also famous for his tasty bolognese sauce. with lights he created a dreamy balearic tune that found its way into gerd janson�s groove podcast. as a consequence, janson and his partner in crime phillip lauer aka tuff city kids played around with the 808 and turned it to a great dancefloor version. phonk d completed the jubilee release with a classic house rework and on top, the tuff city kids remix is added as a dub version. footjob german record label launched in 2014. run by phonk d - focussing on house music made for dancing
