three killer tracks by mr.tophat, art alfie, adam stromstedt on their own junk yard connections label. openings track is straight away a huge track that will make them bounce like crazy. bakey usti the swedisch way. great fresh approach by these young producers. vinyl only affair!
its been a long time coming but house sound is back with its fourth release. nicholas label brings together five emerging talents for a huge 12 inch release. mat chiavaroli and massimo di lina take care of the a side with two low down deep house grooves. the b-side is a funky affair with tracks from jordan peak, bubbin dub and yuri shulgin. absolute killer!
last time out, much love impressed djs and record buyers the world over with a sought-after 12 inch featuring tracks from james johnston, bartellow, roman rauch and label owners alkalino & alphabet city.
for the label s third release, much loves bossmen take a backseat and hand the reigns over to a quartet of emerging and up-and-coming production talents. the results are, thankfully, every bit as intoxicating as previous releases.
four tracks, four hot talents, four killers. much love all round.
from the tropics comes whiskey disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from latent disco perpetrators. its loosely connected to sleazy mcqueen and his assorted cohorts. whiskey disco no.13, ruff n stuff, can hardly be contained on a single plate of wax. all four tracks have been tested and audience approved! on the a, deep&discos rework of i wanna dance with somebody and alkalinos ruff n stuff are both stripped back and bass laden grooves. the b has two mid-tempo grooves from newcomer, debonair and portuguese duo, johnwaynes.
a medley of immortally, electrifying, sonic gems assembled to manipulate time and secure a permanent space in your record box. drivetrains this toxic tempest starts the clock with a classic detroit-tronic wave of pads and beats accompanied by the unconscious spoken word of poet/vocalist goddess stephanie. cloudmasterweeds love showcases impassioned vocal samples atop a thunderous bass with keyboard melodies sprinkled throughout in abysmal syncopation. j garcias fireside warm-up is finely tuned deepness with no compromise to the dance floor. an apprentice to the masters of authentic detroit electronic soul, garcia has come of age. with their debut release, the dual jay ramsey and jennifer xerri comprise in2itive motion. subliminal is a smooth expedition through the deep channels of audio seduction. time stands still as rumbling subs cut through rich chords.
this is part two of senseless records synesthesia series, celebrating their 5th birthday. limited edition vinyl with a hand printed sleeve and art poster insert.
mak & pastemans contribution is a high tech bass bomb built around a carefully chosen sample that devastates right from the start.
elsewhere you will find nkc, who matches up ballroom house attitude with a huge siren-like bassline and a stuttering 4×4 beat and jtrp, who build rattling percussion around their signature tech-atmosphere into a deadly drop that comes out of nowhere. artwork comes from brighton based katie scott.
artwork comes from brighton based katie scott who is arresting and varied work is intricate and detailed, balancing technical ability with a wild creative streak.
well, the deep, raw and real series has come to an end with volume 4, but quintessentials keep these lovely compilations coming. the thank you freaks series is about hot tunes from hot producers. and part 1 is offering a lot of them: andy ash, uncle deep, chicago damn and marcos cabral! quite essential!
dont be afraid present spargel trax, a two part series of vinyl-only, coloured, hand-stamped 12 inches designed to celebrate the dual themes of great seasonal music and great seasonal spargel. contributing tracks across the two 12 inches are some of our favourite artists currently making house music. from established artists like disco nihilist, andy blake, sound species and james duncan to up and coming artists like david joseph from cologne, hodge from bristol, untitled-w from st. petersburg, for whom this is the first outing on wax, and scott fraser from glasgow. no clues though as to which is which, you will have to just listen to the tracks and hear for yourself! proof that 2012 is a great time for music, a great time for wax and a great time for spargel.
FORMAT B RESTLESS REMIXES SESSION 3 (UTO KAREM, DJ MADSKILLZ, F.TESSIS REMIXES)
12 Inch 29.05.12
the third and last format:b vinyl-package is adjusted! subject matter still is the current album restless which has been taken on by big name artists of the international surroundings of the two. in pole position a1 this time is the italian uto karem. he took a shot at piano man and hits the keys just like we are used to from format:b. with his version of socks & sandals the dutch dj madskillz comes around the corner. its his second pounding release on formatik records after his carnival chaos ep. a debut however is given by the also italian artist fernando tessis who keep his eyes upon warped and who went into the remix battle with trumpets and timpani giving no less attention to his demonstration of his garland of corn on b2.
early support from: adam beyer, laurent garnier, luciano, agoria, dj t, seth troxler, magda, oxia, mr. g, spedy j, shaun reeves, danny tenaglia, alex niggermann, tim green, rodriguez jr, mihai popoviciu, toni rios, fabrizio maurizi, cesare vs disorder, mikael stavostrand, daniel sanchez..
the prism is an aluminum cube, small enough to fit in your palm. it was designed by nicolas jaar as a new medium for releasing music. the first release - csa001 - features twelve (mostly) unreleased songs from jaar and other clown & sunset collaborators. the prism is a piece of art in and of itself, its contents beg to be shared. twin headphone outlets encourage connections to the object and between the two listeners. the prism tries to restore physicality to the listening experience. the medium and the method are as important as the music itself. the prism makes you consider how the music is being heard, the way the object feels in your hands, and its potential to foster intimacy between listeners. when the prism is unplugged, a beam of light passes through the empty center, revealing a void. someone is missing.
keeping up their ethos of dancefloor >edits with the love left in< hmd bounce back on a1 with monster from their 3rd compilation. never before released as a 12 inch and much in demand from djs who have heard it in hmd sets, its a whole horse meat disco original track laid out underneath the original vocal acapella. playable peak time or at the end of the night its as deep as disco gets! on b1 a majestic and imperial take on a classic one more time the hmders push the way too short original track and lengthen it into a luscious, euphoric anthem. hmd take all responsibility for end of the night spontaneous dancefloor hug-ins. on b2 the boys have taken the squelchy synths of a real underground track and turned up the intensity that they felt seem to disapated in the original. keeping the vocals pretty much as they are including all the whoops and yelps that make the track so exciting hmd have stayed true to the original but have just given it the horse meat touch. a bit of added percusion and a whole lotta love.
a concept taken from an old book of charles darwin,
,where he theorized the existence of a brain in plant roots, in order to feature a stylistic evolution from ambient to techno. a free way of thinking without schemes, as we move into territory that we love, in the boundless fields of electronic music. vinyls are limited and numbered with stencil artwork printed on the cover made to create a unique piece of each copy.
sun is shining, people smiling! just in time for the spring/summer stranjjur delivers a nice sweet sampler made for open airs. maya jane coles, nic fanciulli, sasha, droog, m a n i k and my favorite robot already supporting. nycs stranjjur imprint serves up an eclectic, assorted variety of dancefloor candy from its forthcoming mix compilation, featuring some of the hottest artists around at the moment. whether it be the melodic and climatic >visions< from lula circus, or the party rockin >so fine< from hot creations and no.19 artist miguel puente, the a-side is sure to rock the party proper. the b-side aims toward the tougher dancefloors, as bass cultures john dimas drops the acid-tinged dancefloor bomb, >dont stress me<, and the release is capped off by the deep and chugging >down from earth< from cosmic cowboys.early support coming from maya jane coles, sasha, nic fanciulli, manik, dave seaman, and more.
ben sun kicks off the ep with some glorious grass roots house vibes. after releases on wolf music and under the shade melbournes francis inferno orchestra s make their debut for vr with classy, lo-slung but urgent take on deep house. legendary australian dj hmc joins in with some p-funk flavoured starr trax and last tyson ballard with some warm, spacious sunday-vibe piece of house music that is my house . touched by the magic that is linkwood for the mixdown, it s an infectious piece that draws a fitting end to a superb ep. another great release on this cool label.
j.a.m. traxx is a vinyl only label inspired by synth and analog machines, spacey- hypnotic atmospheres and everything is showing a genuine passion for complex rhythm and going against! limited to 250 copies.
BEST OF PERCEPTION AND TODAY RECORDS PART 2 (2X12)
2x12 Inch LP 18.05.12
perception productions, a new york based label that ran from the late 60s through until 1974, was a strangely eclectic affair. its roster stretched from a radical afro-american poet through to the pop band king harvest whose hit ‘dancing in the moonlight’ became a massive hit for the uk band toploader a couple of decades later. the inbetween points covered jazz, funk, vocal harmony soul and proto-disco.
super digital traffik recordings of various artists ... the label is growing rapidly by offering great artists both on vinyl and digital. this ep demonstrates it with 4 big artists .. every track has a story .. and all make up this beautiful vinyl which moreover is supported by: laurent garnier, butch, david penn, michel cleis, paco osuna, hermanez, matt brown, rob mello, robert owens, rasmus faber, king britt, benji candelario, etienne de crecy, soul avenger, and many others
disco ball stars vol 1 is the first in a new series by disco deviance show casing some of their favourite new editors on the scene. kicking things off in style is new yorks deep & disco with the heavily groovy knock me out. while irish masters of cut n paste business, get down edits, take more of a disco funk path with the highly infectious make your body move. finally, all the way from monte carlo, rocco raimundo (the man behind the massive we love dreams from last year) threatens to tear up the dance floor with the ecstatic must be love. lovingly edited and re-mastered for 100% disco action. enjoy the music!
dikso reach the ripe old age of 10 releases in fine style with fresh new tracks by nhan solo, huxley & daniel solar, balcazar & sordo and satin jackets feat. natalie conway
for some time now the bar25 label has wanted to put out a release with all of our swiss musician friends – the many folks who came to the swiss weekends at the bar and generally made a habit of visiting us in berlin. the bar always had a deep swiss connection, manifested not least in the legendary swiss cabin, home away from home to larger groups of visiting friends and monday evening after-hour hotspot. alpenglühen – feines aus der schweiz (alp glow – swiss bliss) is a swanky double vinyl of high-quality production art made in switzerland. on vinyl 1, animal trainer from hive audio share a side with andri, the zurich native. techno gladiator wandler and live artist canson play the other side, while vinyl 2 lets two matadors from the new zurich club friedas büxe – don ramon and san marco – steer for a while. and the two music geniuses from galoppierende zuversicht are also here, fittingly, using sounds recorded live at friedas büxe for their track. the sampler concludes with the exceptionally talented mastra, who contributed a special song to this swiss musical collage. the digital release also comes with a bonus live track by sublime stage band rizzoknor. even the cover was designed in switzerland, during a bar25 night at the legendary cabaret in zurich. were all excited about this release since its a special one for the 25 label. marked both by good old times and new horizons, this record is a musical compilation representing the very special kind of artist that will always be welcome in wild berlin!
part 2/3! deep house – uh killer?! dear gorge just like we know him. hardly anyone puts so much energy into a yet so low key appearing track and this is what we love him for. gorge was a history witness for our biggest light installation and the most oppulent feast, as is his right. certified ass-shaking tune with a joyous organ going hand in hand with a female vocal. there is no more to say about this track as it speaks for itself. reminiscing igors 10 minute intro in combat gear at the treibgut deluxe. some push did jonas put into this few minute collaboration track with mz sunday luv. it has to be loud, it has to run – it has to take its place on this compilation. homebased in frankfurt jonas was so fond of hannover at a time that he almost moved north. but we could not afford the hotel room for such a long time. deep house making you get rid of your jacket and shake your hips together. get yourself a drink at the bar and head for the dancefloor. nicely smooth this track is driving you into the night. the only night we actually had champagne and still could all make it to the train to hamburg in the morning.
part 3/3! close your eyes and let go. born in hannover daso enchanted us with this track. it is constantly building up until sunrise. this is how we got to know daso when he was playing his first gig at a treibgut getting our guests up and going. in hannover this night is known as the topless-party-animals-night. not many are as familiar with the treibgut sound as mario aureo proving with this tune. a year ago it was all hands up at treibgut but know we set it free to be passionately celebrated at other parties. leave the orchestra in rehearsals – until they have finished we keep on celebrating to the deep bassline for the plane has just landed. moritz approached this tune verytooly. we just remember him setting up stage for the party, ordering pizza and watching football. frieder, our youngest member, never looses the concept of time and spaces but this track has so much atmosphere in it that you can imagine which cloud he is on. the track comes in easy-going leaving you floating to the end
tabernacle is more than a release, we just feeling it as a religious idolatry, and religion is music or better club music. if the club we mind is belonging to past or future it doesn’t matter, what we know is that it seems not belonging to present cause present seems not to exist anymore: we are all enmeshed in an immediate availabilty of what has been, we are all trapped in a geography of eternal availabilty”.
well this compilation, built of three eps, will be just enough available: on vinyl. yes friends there will be some huge singles extacted from the whole work but the origin of the idea with different artists, friends, styles, attitudes, moods will be on vinyl only… so start to fill the cart of your fav portal, remove the dust from your turntable and enjoy this timeless clubby sound.
ep1 is out now, featuring billy bogus vs soneek mx, mushrooms project, soupaczar, space ranger, loudtone.
here we go with the second edition of our new limited vinyl series - the purple music allstars - this time we feature 4 purple music gems all on one vinyl!
the purple veteran dario dattis along with the latin vibe by jack & the jerk as well as the debut of the russian talent dj slider with the trio nightrhymes. what else? enjoy!
