belgiums most praised dubstep label duploc has been consistently releasing two-track singles since 2015. the imprint curated by platform duploc.com now announces the launch of a new 12inch vinyl release series. catalogued as duplocv001, the first ep features no one less than label resident hebbe. the dutch up-and-comer was introduced to duploc in the beginning of 2018 with duploc020, as he was signed to crucial recordings and artikal music uk short after. now he returns to the label for the first volume of the new dupplates series. watch out is one of hebbe’s most anticipated tracks as a chest-oppressive weighty sub bass rolls through a distorted landscape of cinematic samples and sinister melodies which are constantly progressing. of course resident enigma dubz has to be involved in this first instalment as he delivers an incredibly stunning remix, hitting you with pure bassweight and powerful synths. on the flip side, compatriot melle and the like-minded mr.k enthusiastically accompany hebbe to unleash both the bouncing wayside as well as the murky lemon twist, two highly overdue cuts. the dupplates vol. 1 is an essential in your record collection and marks a first much promising episode for the next to come on duplocs prestigious series.

vast, expansive and introspective works utilising place-specific found sound on this second cremation lily lp for alter. contemplating mortality, illness and the perennial bleakness of british winter in a seaside town we find zen zsigo experimenting with piano, violin, synthesiser and walkman tape players. layering field recordings of the hastings shoreline atop druggy, stretched out 303 basslines and snippets of spoken word there seems to be an overarching thematic of memory and reflection at play. from vignettes of crumbling glass and bittersweet drones through to sprawling, semi-rhythmical pieces (‘as a sea creature...’) it seems as if zsigo is trawling the coast for fragments of its former glory. the end result of his study manages to echo the work of yoran, leyland kirby and even jacob kirkegaard yet the rare moments where he lays bare his own vocal narrative seemingly transforms in england now, underwater into sonic diary territory. mixing salt-water soaked cassette loops with haunting, minimalist piano motifs and warped recordings of crashing waves and bird noise an intense atmosphere of ballards drowned world is evoked through sound.

studio one dub 2 is a second collection bringing together some of the finest dubs from the legendary studio one records, kingston, jamaica. dub music was the creation of a generation of brilliant recording studio engineers in jamaica. but although clement coxsone dodds studio one is hailed as the greatest of the jamaican recording labels, and although many talented engineers worked the board at dodds brentford road studio over the years (including sylvan morris, syd bucknor, overton scientist brown and dodd himself), studio one was never typically known as a centre for dub.

born in chile but raised in sweden, alexi delano, with fellow swedes like cari lekebusch, adam beyer, jesper dahlback, joel mull and others, became part of some of the first wave of swedish electronic music producers that made a name for themselves in the mid 90s, releasing on techno labels such as plus8, missile, primate, hybrid, svek and many more. his style dwells in the perfect balance between shiny minimalism and dark vivasious techno, which is exactly what you can expect from his brand new ep for leena >un do me<. as a long term friend of mobilee, and also an artist who’s productions fit well with many of our artists dj styles and tastes, its a great pleasure to finally release one of his productions on leena. both tracks on the ep >un do me< and >watch out< come with a powerful punch and high energy. with more than two decades on the stage, hes an artist that is certainly showing no intentions of slowing down. we hope you enjoy this!
