after firstly appearing on dials 2010 compilation, kassian troyer shows up with an adventure into wonderful sounddesigned technomusic. these four pieces of deeply grooving structures might r be influenced of early works by jan jelineks farben project, the swing of stl and the deep rooms of pole. that is no coincidence at all. kassian troyer who studied sound engineering and production has been responsible for the live mixing of stefan bethke aka pole and lots of other artists like andrew peckler and pantha du prince. while working on the mixing of efdemins chicago album he became related to dial records- his first demo tracks were an ingenious discovery for dials eccentric family.

piotr bejnar might still look like a freshman on the mos ferry label, but he convinced us with talent, devotion and a fascinating drive when performing his music live on stage. look up his name on youtube and you will know why ... one year after his surprising debut with the digital 3-tracker >janusz ep<, this follow up will also be released on vinyl. for piotr bejnar the >cracow fight< is not only a platform to present himself. he welcomes his friend and producer jackname trouble on board and finishes the 4-tracker with 2 excellent remixes. yapacc and patlac are definitely no unknown entities. the two german producers are highly acclaimed for their own releases and remixed the tracks with great respect to the originals.

with davidchristoph we have a fresh, fulminant dj battle, which stands for extravagant work behind the decks! feasting up to the point of ecstasy, dancing in great profusion and music that forces you to move your body, are just 3 maxims they act on. for patterns the boys show their diversity in styles, resulting in a more subttle techno style than you might know patterns for, but for sure this is an effective piece of vinyl! perfect dancefloor material.

something of a departure into uncharted territory for ostgut ton on the fiftieth single release of the label. following berghains hugely sucessful art exhibition alle which showcased the many visual artists among the members of staff at berghain/panorama bar, ostgut ton shows they cannot be pinned down easily to one genre by offering their anniversary release to two artists of the extended ostgut family who normally wouldnt be associated with what you might have come to expect from the label. shambhu the undisputed queen of the berghain bar ladies (she regulary holds court every saturday upstairs at her very own gitter bar) and rummelsnuff the germanic hulk of the berghain/laboratory bouncers come up with enchanting and surprising results. the release comes pressed as a 7 inch (a first for the label and limited to 500 hand-numered copies) and each side is given to one of the two artists.

the bowels of flapjack records are very excited and relieved to push that peruvian boy out onto some vinyl. what a relief! this new ep is so phat that we thought it might have required a trip to the hospital. there is no enema strong enough to work this hot piece out. this would require some dance floor surgery. >i cam to jam ep< is like the signature dish of peru and works like magic on the dance floor as well as your taste buds.

it has been a while since alex showed up with a follow up on credo, but as you know, good things do not only last for a while, they also require some time to be finished and this result is more than worth to wait for! hollywood bullet might remind you on some classic trackss essence and it kicks of impressively however, the real >go< follows after huuuge breaks and now its your turn to free the animals on the dancefloor with this weapon that contains not only plenty of energetic basslinesounds, but also load of colors which could be missed these days on often very monotonous technoproductions. alex is not afraid of bringing colors, and not only shades on credo, and so does heartattack: a really weird and unexpected groove on 120 bpm only, even kind of housy, but the upbuilding rythmic noises bring the track back to where it comes from, and this is nothing else as pure bassic energy. very very big release in our eyes!

rivet puts a lot of effort in his sounds and his production. this is not another copycat. first out on the ep >amid the roar< is >metrist<, a sexy march that blends the stiffness 80-ties disco with techno from the future. on the b-side marcel fengler takes his turn on >metrist<. he keeps the string of the original, chops up the bass and creates a dancefloor monster with a big anthem alert stamp on it. amid the roar ends with what might be the strongest track on the ep. this ep will make us dance, of course, as always, with a bit of a kontra-musik twist.

say hello to rest! ...the new label of herb lf (westpark unit, gush collective, draft recordings, supafeed) and phil decker (sensual touch recordings)! for a start the two labelrunners are entering their brand new stage in person as their project discoshit. after recently having taken part on the rhythm kings compilation by traveller records, next to ooft, nicholas or leonidas, they now present their debut ep strike a pose! heavy bass dub meets deep disco on the starter strike a pose! with its dubby vibe it stands for the spirit of the time. sound of... raises the pressure with a symbiosis of 80s funk and pure housesound. its getting hot,baby! breakers and househeads agree on deep chords and swinging handclaps on the dancefloor. if roy ayers would do slomo house, it might sound like biwak. crackling jazz warms up the cold club or serves up the perfect pick for a sunrise set. filtermadness and sample patchwork, in the end number one sneaks into the prime time with finesse and pop appeal. on top of that strike a pose! is presented in a stylish cover artwork by elinasolomonov(arte tv).

>into our midst< might just be walls finest achievement to date: you can literally hear the duo nailing it. backed up by an exclusive edit of the title track and unreleased freeform thump-out >idle sway<, this 12 inch manages to accomplish the impossible: bringing the bounce back to the chill-out. one can only wonder what walls will do next to woo and enchant their audience growing bigger every split second.

this ep was formed with a concept in mind that involves a natural phenomenon occurring in various/different fields of science and nature - anti-parallelism. as the word suggests, anti-parallelism describes the natural relationship between two occurrences, objects or even non-material things, that are virtually identical and yet oriented in different directions. during the time the music was made i was researching natural phenomenons like this one. naturally, this became part of the nucleus, fabric and inspiration for this work. in genetics, for example, if the antiparallelity is corrupted during the process of dna replication it is called a mutation. this mutation can be anything from totally inconsequential to critical for the survival of the whole living organism. a double helix of dna contains two helixes, that are naturally anti-parallel to one another. in physics this could be two of the same objects moving through space and time in opposite directions - just like the instruments or parts of a beat in electronic music production. so metaphorically speaking,anti-parallelism holds a natural balance to keep it safe and stable. although this might sound all very conceptual and theoretical this music is obviously just what it is - it is not intended to teach math, physics or biology in any way. the above mentioned aspect has simply found its way through my head and might have led to a piece of music that somehow, at least for me, is connected to these thoughts. it might evoke something very different for you.

it might seem odd for a band without a full-length to enjoy this sort of praise. but escort is definitely not your typical band. escort is big. literally. the seventeen-member disco orchestra, founded by producers eugene cho and dan balis, and fronted by lead singer adeline michele, features an incredible cast of musicians who have played with everyone from indie-rock titans arcade fire to avant-classical luminaries alarm will sound. scissor sisters frontman jake shears recently described escort as the >best disco you have ever heard<. he just might be right.

6 months after we first ventured into vinyl territory were back with a new ep. the follow up to kastils dusty edits is a sampler containing 4 tracks by 3 artists we are heavily supporting at the moment. the a1 is again by basque county based kastil. shes back is a wonderful sample drenched house track containing soul touching vocals. definitely one for the dancefloor. on the a2 we have doctor bills by fellow rotterdam native ben la desh this is actually his first release out of many to come. this track has been circulating the soundcloud for a few months and was played by ooft! in one of his excellent podcasts. on the flip we find two tracks by taiko mochi name:tomas malo. while the b1 scenesters is a great more uptempo disco house track with quite an emotive break its the b2 slomo track shelter that has been stealing the show until now. if youre in to real slow and mesmerizing music this might just be the one for you. support by: ooft!, the dead rose music company, miguel campbell, craig smith (6th borough project), andy ash, james johnston, soho808, sleazy beats recordings, zoo look, kirill tipo, fulbert, satore.

kowton and tom dicicco, residing in bristol and manchester respectively, make very different music from one another. kowtons seems to come from house, perhaps also electro and garage, often quite slow in tempo and hard to pin down to a specific genre. toms music is techno, bass heavy, melodic, textured and rooted around 125 bpm. with these distinctive styles the idea of a split ep might seem ambitious, but the result is four cohesive but different tracks that show the talents of both artists perfectly in the format of two originals on one side and two remixes of each others originals on the other. tom diciccos original is driven by a low-mid range thick stab and pounding kick drum, littered with intricate but not overbearing hi hat and snare work and some very atmospheric mid range. kowtons is subtle and sparse, low fidelity and plodding, with rattling percusion carrying the tune along. on the other side of the record, kowtons remix of toms original is driven by an enormous bassline, with an off kilter dubby feel to the slow tempo and genre defying tune. toms remix of kowton rounds off the ep with a return to stab driven techno, pulsating, dynamic and trance inducing.

emergent behaviour is what one might determine the calm before the storm, as we dive into the second instalment of the jupiter cycle, as the drifting ambience and somewhat ominous synths proceed abstract thought, itself a stubborn barrage of hardened electro beats, rigid stabs, crystalizing and melding into an explosive mayhem and of course, the ghost in the machine, if anything a more traditional styled, yet irresistible electro hit. the deep showcases hadamard in a distinctly experimental mode, where all the fine details are tuned to perfection for maximum atmosphere. finally, drifting into the collective and satellite swarm, both gliding onwards and ever deeper into pure ambience, the latter closing piece eloquently preparing the audio stratosphere for the next chapter in the jupiter cycle. special limited edition pack includes the second in a series of collectable posters.

bouncing, deep and seriously funky is how you might sum up the latest futureboogie release from local taskforce christophe & lukas, but first and foremost this is dance music pure and simple. the three cuts on offer here will almost certainly cause involuntary dance-offs by the bassbin.

thomas hesslers ep is the first player through crepuscular shafts & sonic subways.. beware the trail. first track - lost - cements you into a vacuum of suffocating synths that precede a poundin kick.. you are propelled into a tunnel. the bridge of the track is a course in restraint, giving way to menacing drive & looping side sticks.. siren like washes takes hold, swirling & disorientating the listener. on the flip, - 12 channel madness - best conveys the tone and atmosphere of the release. the murky darkness & pace feels inhuman to the core, but not without infectious rhythm breakdowns with flavors of old & nu skool shuffle timbres. these tracks are also - tools - that do not sacrifice on complexity. the haunting synth washes carry us through but offer no comfort. insanity & intensity reaches catharsis but never overpowers the overall mix. - berlin movement - is the final track on the ep that affirms you are still inside the tunnel. the incisive hook lines impel you to find your way out. the kick is more subdued forcing you to go with the melody until the break & bridge lapses back & the restraint builds to hypnotic frenzy. a dry, howling wind prevails.. filtered and distorted. thomas hessler succeeds in taking us through his tunnel of contradictions: alluring, menacing, emotional yet coldly detached. listen up: you might not escape !

played by reboot, joris voorn, martinez, christian prommer, lee curtiss, sis, ... ever wondered what a butch diana ross on acid might sound like…? well youre about to find out… but before we get to overside, youve gotta enjoy and marvel at the sheer brilliance of the rest of jairo catelos latest offering on silicone souls darkroom dubs. our man from the asturias has rapidly built a strong and loyal following thanks to his beautifully crafted house cuts. jairos ability to bring together dubby textures and an innate soul within his productions is most enviable. his warehouse ep features three original new cuts backed by a rework from french house guru, phil weeks. lead cut soul school is something of a two-headed beast. whilst its kick-drum and dramatic synth stabs drive it with a serious dose of funk, it still retains a warm-summer soul that will keep the fillies moving. then, as a little sax break goes to our head, were flipped and the beats and bass get sleazy and old school. killer! mr. weeks beings some 90s flow to the table on his remix. working the guitar licks and bassline hard but always retaining a smooth as silk groove, phil shows just how to keep the dancefloor cookin. a beautiful house record from one of the very best. >yairos 303 acid< mix of overside finds us getting upside down and inside out. serious funk with an injection of some classic acid styles. final cut >the shake< sees jairo roll out drums. a lazy bassline is swarmed by ripping snares and a host of percussive sites and sounds. a perfect close to a pretty much perfect ep.

continuing the exploration of bristol 4/4 variants, immerse proudly offers forth this decisive two-tracker from the prodigious mind of jacob martin, better know as hodge. you might be more familiar with hodge from his work as part of outboxx, who we proudly debuted on ime025. that said, he first surfaced last year with the deadly conjecture on another fine bristol institution, pollen. one thing rings true in any of the output hodge is associated with, melody. shirking the safety of sterile mechanics that so many producers hide behind, he tackles interplaying notes and harmonies with a fearless exuberance. opening track the fall kicks off on a jerky groove and ice-cold organ murmurs, gently easing in layers and clips of sound with the same joie de vivre as akufen and other micro-house progenitors. ‘crush’ kicks off on a more decidedly broken tip, keeping the twostep shuffle slow and easy as whispers of garage skip in between the warm pads. the overriding vibe on hodge’s ep is one of unpretentious, good times tunage.

ultraschall is an homage to the first big techno club in munich. the owners of harry klein were part of the old ultraschall, which has a unique legendary status nowa¬days. the older generation in particular often long for the good old days. yes those times shouldnt be forgotten, especially not in terms of sound, but its also important to move on and attempt new things. like supporting vinyl, going to a who¬lefood shop or ending war. ok that might sound like a bro¬ken record, but how about spending less time on facebook and actually with your friends, cooking for your parents or organizing a break dance battle in your backyard? daniel takes us on a journey through the past and back to the future again. a charming mixture of laid-back grooves combined with some rough n ready rave moments make this a rapturous trip, no matter what time it is. track names are a really interesting element of music. some artists dont care about them at all and call their tracks a1 or something non-descript. yet many titles can be really funny, others made up words, and some corre¬spond to current events or times. some just really fit the sound. if you lose something, in general its a pretty nasty and unsettling feeling. but you have to deal with bad luck when it strikes. losing something can teach you an im¬portant lesson, or simply show you what it means to be unfortunate and down. not knowing the lows as well as the highs wont allow you to evaluate life very well. most important is to really feel and be yourself, despite the ups and downs.

stephane signore delivers an excellent record called >we live in a world of ba57ard ep< chordy and firm techno that will rock in venues with good soundsystem. with long an well constructed builds on the opening track called bad trip. this is a vinyl that will no doubt get support from larger names in the industry. the second track is the stanny franssen remix of ba57ard. this is a nice rolling remix with a lot of dynamics and way more uplifting that the original. for the 3rd track on the ep we find this original piece. this is a very deep somewhat chaotic production, this might just be the eps winning track. with a strong arrangement and little vocal edits this will no doubt get played alot. for the closing track we have got >paranoid< the title covers the load, strong dark techno music that will rock your world.

in its original form, holy ghost!s debut album cut >hold my breath< is, pure and simple, great dancefloor electronic pop, in the hands of shadowy duo tiger & woods, the song has been totally reshaped and refracted through 80s r&b radio. they have slowed the pace and inserted synth-funk hot flashes that recall prince – and, no kidding, the time, and jimmy jam & terry lewis – to create a mood that fits comfortably (and pleasurably) within their future boogie m.o. cosmic kids ron poznansky and dan terndrup have taken the track in a more tensely dramatic direction. it might be the vaguely darkened synthline upon which much of that track sits that lends itself to its more intense feel here, and gives it such a pleasant nocturnal feel. finally, theres falty dls re-envisioning, which goes down awfully smooth for a track so full of the big, thick, bumping bass beats. it’s an aural pleasure to find yourself dreamily lost in the brooklyn, new york producer/djs halls of reverberating sound.

the baalsaal family is so happy with this one. we would like to warmy welcome doctor dru and the adana twins, more hamburg power to our label. this will not be last imprint promised. although when we look out of the window, there might be leaves falling down and darkness to come soon. this is a late summer groove that will make you smile with a melancholic twist

for well roundeds 11th release bristols skinnz drops a trio of infectious and melodic creations that share a kinship with todays garage and funky house sounds whilst standing apart due to their unique character. you may know sam from his other alias baobinga. he is man who commands much respect for his collaborations with people from a wide variety of musical backgrounds and his ability to channel his influences in an unforced and colourful way.
on the skinnz releases so far he has experimented with more garage influenced beats, while retaining his trademark focus on percussive momentum. however these tracks often flow freely across boundaries and genre limits encouraged to evolve in any direction that creates excitement. previous skinnz releases have already appeared on pinchs earwax label and boka records whilst his debut outing was on one of the first compilations of music that might be termed dubstep – the classic >our sound< album on destructive.

a debut release for both band and label, parisian duo paradis bring two eloquently produced tracks to beats in space in the form of the >parfait tirage / la ballade de jim< 12 inch (bis001). admirers from afar of dj tim sweeneys weekly on air institution of 12 years (from which the label takes its name), paradis submitted demos hoping they might hack it for some play time. reared on classical and jazz, turned young hip hop rebels, turned teen club crawlers, and then university machine tinkerers, simon meny & pierre rousseau grew out of genre jumping while young enough to stay ahead and settle into music making centered around melody and emotion.

this ep was formed with a concept in mind that involves a natural phenomenon occurring in various / different fields of science and nature - anti-parallelism. as the word suggests, anti-parallelism describes the natural relationship between two occurrences, objects or even non-material things, that are virtually identical and yet oriented in different directions. during the time the music was made i was researching natural phenomenons like this one. naturally, this became part of the nucleus, fabric and inspiration for this work. in genetics, for example, if the >antiparallelity< is corrupted during the process of dna replication it is called a mutation. this mutation can be anything from totally inconsequential to critical for the survival of the whole living organism. a double helix of dna contains two helixes, that are naturally anti-parallel to one another. in physics this could be two of the same objects moving through space and time in opposite directions - just like the instruments or parts of a beat in electronic music production. so metaphorically speaking, anti-parallelism holds a natural balance to keep it safe and stable. although this might sound all very conceptual and theoretical this music is obviously just what it is - it is not intended to teach math, physics or biology in any way. the above mentioned aspect has simply found its way through my head and might have led to a piece of music that somehow, at least for me, is connected to these thoughts. it might evoke something very different for you

der dritte raum is a super project at constant altitude flight. releasing music on labels such as harthouse and cocoon since the early ninetees der dritte raum has established a name for high quality electronic music and a live show you will never forget. with their Überhit >swing bop< 3 years ago der dritte raum has kicked off a still going roaring-20s-hype in the electronic music scene in berlin and anywhere else. now here we go with the remixes of this epic piece. the question was: who could remix this unique track withut making it just a worse copy of the original? the answer: t.raumschmiere might turn this track into a dirty wrecking rave monster and as a complementary addition, acid pauli might be a good choice to take the track in a totally different direction. well, t.raumschmiere did what we expected, just in an even better way than we hoped, and acid pauli did as well. he gave swing bop an outfit that makes it sound even more dreamy and out of time and space. enjoy!

killekills next release comes from snuff crew, a crew you might and should have heard about. snuff crews mission is to bring back the fun on the dancefloors worldwide. the masked duo is known for their jacking live shows that combine the raw energy of early chicago and acid house with a fresh and modern sound. rumour has it that they come from >somewhere in germany<, but their sounds draw a very heavy influence from the original acid house city of chicago alongside italo-disco and old school techno flavours. the use of old school roland boxes as sound sources and almost non existent use of even basic effects means their sound is rough, raw and aimed squarely at the dancefloor. their records have been released on labels like skylax, gigolo records, rush hour, playhouse and many more, but the two guys also run their own imprint called snuff trax where they release music of jackmates like kink and neville watson as well as their own tracks and collaborations with artists such as legendary robert owens. thats enough for now with the name dropping. killekill has got a lot of great exclusive material from the guys but decided to release only two very strong and distinctive tracks for now: domo on the one side is a proper acid monster that will go down on dancefloors worldwide like a hurricane and leave the dancers breathless. eat this on the other side is a rudimentary chicago jack track that might well have been taken off a dance mania record from 1992. this track is working its way with nothing but a few drum tracks and a vocal sample and is pure raw sexual energy.

with private golds newest offering the inimitable cologne producer martin beume has really taken a huge and achingly beautiful step in his songwriting and production. some might know him from releases with connaiseur or brut! records, but this record is miles higher… wisps of detail adorn each song like edible gold flake on a luscious chocolate ganache cake. synths flutter and glide like summer butterflies and even the percussion is precious and clean. this is not to say it is only good for home listening. lead off track solid rubber has a tough and sexy deep house sway with echoes of brazilian bossa nova laid over its more traditionalist chicago house and jazz. lsdeep, has the full dirt stomp necessary for a forbidden tryst, but sneaks in smart samples and emotional filter washes to add unexpected depth. at 105bpm, you might not expect wip catch to fucking groooooove the way it does, but trust me kids, things are getting slower as we are getting older. and it feels great. soaring orchestral strings married with perfectly cut vocal samples are sure to get the more adventurous djs hypnotizing dancefloors like musical svengalis. and when you thought it was all over, axel boman turns in an amazing remix in his instantly recognizable non-traditional style. this dude is a lothario. all hip shake and cooing come-ons, its a reduced house gem that slinks its way into your pants.

container is a recent moniker of nashville, tennessee resident ren schofield who has been actively shifting about the u.s. playing shows and releasing cassettes on his mysterious i just live here imprint for a long while now. known primarily for his god willing project, a disjointed, confusing, maze of crude oscillator, tape, and guitar, ren has established himself as a staple in the east coast underground.
