a fistful of wax is an extension for some very special projects of our beloved deep house skylax records sub – label wax classic. for this first release, we give you the opportunity to grab 5 fantastic trax done by some of the best deep house producers at the moment. a1 is done by the great girogio luceri whose been releasing some very hot tunes through jamal moss mathematics & runaways on the prowl labels. a2 is done by jamie trench one of the new hot producer made in london, his track sound very very garage & we loved it instantly. while on the b side we have again 3 bomb tracks featuring first on b1 jackmaster k who delivers clearly an anthem, it reminds us some of best house music made in uk (circa 91/92), this track could have been played by sasha & digweed or carl cox at shoom ! b2 is marcoradi , an italian producer who teamed up with the great nicholas on one his 4lux release. he also produced many remixes (erykah badu ect ...) & some 12 inches over the years. b3 is rio padice from rawax & housewax fame those tracks are all firmly rooted into the deep house sound (check the detroitian vibes of get back). they never settle into one comfortable, predictable groove. its heady, emotion-rich grooves include warm, melodic two-step and future garage flavas, dubwise slo-mo grooves. its eclectic, no doubt, but thanks to those guys warm production and heavy deep vocals, this release will put your hands up in the air marvellously.

foolish felix dickinsons superb cynic label with another hot one! cynics latest release features another killer track from l.h.a.s. inc. march sees the formidable hypercolour deliver its most surprising output yet, an ep from none other than groove armada. tom findlay and andy cato need little introduction as groove armada. chart smashes, huge live tours and being part of the worldwide electronic music history aside, the duo have never lost touch with their acid house roots and have continued to be devoted to record buying, djing and the much maligned promo trawl. tom and andy have been avid followers of the label it seemed, since its inception. it was through label head jamie, meeting the guys back in 2010 at space in ibiza, and then continued communication via hypercolour promos, that led to an out-of-the-blue email requesting an informal hook up in east london and, within just a few days, a release was scheduled. that release is the >no knock ep<, four tracks that range from 808 fuelled old school cuts to low slung, moog-bassd electronic funk. each sound is lovingly crafted but there is an analog rawness throughout and every track has the sort of tweaked, off-kilter and occasionally awkward vibe that hypercolour do so well. it just takes a bit of imagination to guess what a ga release on hypercolour should sound but failing that, just check the release out as it wont disappoint.

the man with a hand in hypercolour, hypeltd, glass table, losing suki and sneaker social club has such an inexhaustible enthusiasm for all forms of electronic music that he is starting a new label! space hardware is jamie russells latest project and comes to fruition with the inaugural sounds of placeholder, an artist russell unearthed one afternoon on soundcloud. the labels mo is simple: to release spaced-out headphone music for the rave generation, where this debut ep consists of two original tracks from the mysterious placeholder, plus a tidy remix from uncanny valleys jacob korn.

bill youngman has become one of the most important parts of the killekill family. his new record displays his wide range of interests: from dark techno in shadent he crosses over to drone monster alert in wespe to his very own style of melodic electro in centrumcircuit. about bill youngman: scandinavia, tresor, null etc., bill has from day one been producing a lot of excellent other stuff. for exam- ple, he released one album of the finest electronica on depth charge’s dc recordings under the alias audible, several great eps of electro on serotonin and recently remixed jamie lidell in a rather techy dubstep style for warp. bill doesnt follow trends and dislikes being categorized into one stale genre and so perfectly fits into the killekill master plan. expect several eps from him on killekill in the future. bill will furthermore attempt to push the threshold of modern electronic music production.

romare is a young london to paris transient crate digger, collecting dusty snippets of undead voices and antiquated rhythms. once in his underground lab, these pieces of yesterday are chopped, spliced and reattached to create the sound of tomorrow. this ep explores the connection between the history of african and african-american culture in the form of collage to create musical conversations between the past, present and future.
samples of songs, speeches, interviews, field recordings and films were carefully chosen and rearranged: rhythms from africa are integrated with voices from harlem, conversations about race and identity between writers and ethnomusicologists are constructed, speeches from activists are conjoined with the voices of prisoners. this process of combining pre-existing material has inspired three >meditations on afrocentrism<.
in keeping with black acres genre dodging output, romares merging of traditional rhythms of africa with the contemporary tempos of footwork and house is a bridge between the tradition sound palette of africa and future dance rhythm.

bria valente (born brenda fuentes) is an american singer based in minneapolis. she released her debut album, elixer as part of a three-album set with princes lotusflow3r and mplsound in 2009, which debuted at #2 on the top billboard albums chart.
she first met prince at the age of 17 at paisley park studios while working with keyboardist morris hayes and later began her association with prince, contributing vocals to his 2007 album planet earth.
in 2009 she recorded the elixer album, singing lead vocals with prince on guitar and morris hayes providing beats. out this week on vinyl and picture disc formats featuring brand new club mixes by jamie lewis (purple music) & david alexander (icon collective).
