one more heavy hitter on credo, and this time we could even say two tracks that form an ep as strond as the so far most sold credo-release from 2007 - bullet in your heart. the name tells already some connection to australia and indeed the basic idea came up during alex tour down under in fall 2012 where he played three cities within three days and a total of 9h playtime for which he travelled 64h in total. sydney acid is the main track of the ep, no doubt and hard to describe. it is a pure, driven technotrack with a fierce, no blubby, but very powerful acid bassline aiming at riots on the dancefloor. melbourne dub tells exactly what the track is all about and by the way featuring the sound of the local traffic lights that made alex thinking about creating some tracks related to it.

david flores surfaces as audio injection with no key ep, two slabs of pristine techno for the new year. after owning 2011 & 2012 with over a dozen releases as truncate, audio injection flexes some production muscle to put out a sound that�s as huge as it is hypnotic. the a side features deep thought, a seven-minute obsession around a short melodic fragment that speeds at 130 bpm through a paranoid passage of beguiling rhythm. the b side features title track no key, a demolishing groove that builds and breaks but never lets go. machined percussion and tonal beats carve their way through an arena-sized rabbit hole with detail and dimension.

blue hawaii, arbutus records and many of their montreal counterparts all began with the same breath in early 2010. to date blue hawaii has released an 8 song ep: in may of that year, blooming summer (arbutus records 2010) was recorded following the pairs travels in central america. it frames a time of warmth and novelty, featuring dense female harmonies, tape saturated synths, guitars and drum machines. eventually ra- returned to her role in braids, touring constantly, while ag� moved to europe, treading deeper into dance music, electronics, and production. the two decided to make untogether in 2012, they began recording on new years day in vancouver and intermittently worked on the project until summer broke in montreal. the music followed their winter in canada, it became colder, more introspective. it again captured a time and place, but instead of a dense saturation of love and excitement, this record reflects the vast world of self-awareness and delicacy.

as we are beset by the darkest of seasons, let sequencias provide a score to fit the mood. presented in two parts, *hybrid furrows* marks the second transmission of the mysterious healing force project from treviso, italy. the first part is a dense, introspective overture. a ceaseless minor key drone lays the path for deep thrumming gong-like pulse and shuddering percussive textures. a song without a coda, a dream without resolution, it simply dissipates like fog�never revealing it�s center. the second part is similarly monolithic in nature, but crafted more for movement than meditation. it is vicious arpeggiated psychedelia, sharp enough to cut into the deepest recesses of your psyche. both tracks were recorded live in one take. vinyl only.

a surprising house release, muredo, an ep with a generous acoustics in which the rythm is frontal but the story is told just behind. the raf are two habitual offenders of the well done track. when the muredo track slowly wakes you up and meticulously tries hard to describe the morning gestures, murefa carry on with a breathless ride. the second inspiration is only taken when everything had come to an end, in a calmness orchestrated by val at the helm of an abstract groovy remix. this ep is the first signature on the recent french label seconde and a lot of things are supposed to come soon.

drumma keeps delivering special and serious tracks for the dancefloor with its fifth vinyl release. for this ep, jorge savoretti, owner of savor records from argentina gives us an amazing trio of productions. the titular track of the ep, tai ere, is an amazing dub-techno composition that builds up and grooves continuously teasing and titillating the listener.the two machines compositions are gritty techno tracks that get the party going. machines 02 is a relentless hi-hat driven track that can be dropped at peak time. machines 00 is the more relaxed of the two a-sides but no less stimulating than its counterpart. a powerful vocal sample and bassline combine perfectly to make a bomb track.

another clever techno release with emphasis on quality and structure and not forgetting the input from detroit dub merchant luke hess. *terminator reserve* is dominated by a thick bass line, razor sharp percussion, devastating juno stabs and with tonnes of analogue warmth coming from its abyssal depths. the luke hess remix provides the deep qualities of the original however its much more repetitive in its nature making it truly hypnotic and one you cannot help but get completely lost in. on the b side *mediator* is rough and ready ... booming kicks, dynamic bass shifts accompanied by the right amount of snare and filter inputs make this one of the toughest on the release not forgetting that its split down the middle with a heavy 303 bleed. highly recommended! *stilled* runs off in the opposite direction to the other track it shares the b with as its laden with detroit influenced floating chords and percussion.

myk derill (knotweed, reform, etc.) is one of the most interesting dub-techno artists! here he offers two great tracks of high quality and class. never hard but never soft. the release is completed by a fantastic remix signed by markus suckut (figure spc, sckt,etc.)his remix is a clear reference to the atmosphere of the past, with his usual class! another good step for fluxus records.

brimming with subversive energy, searing wit and gallows humour, *luftbobler* is the debut album by dinos chapman. consisting of 13 tracks of electronic schlampige musik, *luftbobler* is the result of a decade of experimenting with sound. inspired by insomnia, horror movies and boredom, and made in a diy fashion in the basement of his east london home, *luftbobler* reflects dinos chapmans interests in the industrial pulse of throbbing gristle, willful experimentation of stockhausen and impish playfulness of squarepuscher, but sounds like none of them.

tropics a.k.a. chris ward first appeared on planet mu last year, following up two eps with the album parodia flare. commended by pitchfork for his lush soundscapes and hazy pop, whats clear with tropics is that he listens to a lot of dance music and he cares about production values. the synth and beat programming is as competent as anything out there, and he avoids lazy indie stylings and one button bontempi organ beats � his are crafted songs, much of the pleasure lying in his gift for dynamic arrangement, which is a joy amid rafts of useful formulaically assembled house tracks.
in common with the general post-financial collapse vibe there is less sunshine in this ep than before, and he has absorbed something from a year of intensive house music listening, but chris essential qualities remain a forward-looking wistfulness, hope beneath melancholy, something even more acutely needed now than before. oh look! here comes winter.

despite the fact that he has been producing house music for a long time, this is orazio fantinis first feature release. this canadian musician is a jazz enthusiast, but his true passion lies in house music. he comfortably moves between deep house and jazz and seems to feel pretty good doing it.

*sundog* by french producer johannes regnier was a massive but bloody underrated track this summer - when i heard it recently at the innervisions-party on the berghain-floor i felt confirmed about this dudes big potential. meanwhile he moved from paris to berlin and his first studio in town was located in a street called wiesenweg. there johannes met alexander antonakis, an excellent and well known dj from frankfurt for some sessions - the result you can hear on this *wiesenweg ep*.

christopher rau has been impressing people since a while! here three tracks that impressed the junk yard connections crew a while ago on a mix tape, not knowing what it was, or who it was! finally they tracked down its origins and found out that it was unreleased tracks by christopher! now finally these tracks see the day light! inter alia, *the green bean*, which has some of that sexy swampy house vibe like theo parrish or stl can do. on the flip its *some song* with its more techier vibe, somehow with an atmosphere reminding of model 500s classic starlight. and last but not least the b2 track no chatter with its up beat house vibe. amazing tracks that are the first tracks on the label from outside the jyc crew. tracks that are here to stay on valuable wax. another cool junk yard connections release.

all tracks written & produced by ark (guillaume erroyer) and pit spector (pierre deniel) 4-track package from exciting new duo ark & pit spector. made up of brothers ark, the parisian known for his pioneering releases on perlon and karat, and pit spector, an up and coming producer, they join forces on their debut ep for eclectic label hold youth. true to the hold youth ethos the ep calls on a number of different influences, from the smooth, funk-led vibes on tournsoul, to the techno-inspired sounds of seuils remix of the nuts. ark & pit spector explore all that is sexy and hypnotic through the subtle but effective all green, while more down-tempo the nuts is verging on 80s-esque wonky-pop. seuil steps up for his take on the latter and delivers a dark, murky and all together sinister version of the original, adding a pulsating bassline to compliment the stripped back edit of the vocal. forward-thinking and open-minded sounds, old futur is another worthy addition to the hold youth catalogue.

last year kyodai dropped breaking, which to date is the biggest selling release on local talk. now the brothers are back with in our opinion a future house anthem. the scene is a classic piano house cut that�s impossible to resist and together with one the coolest vocal samples we�ve ever heard we think this has the potential to go really big. when the breakdown drops we�re pretty sure everybody in the club will chant. but as if this was not enough we also got another big tune on the b-side. moving is the continuation of �breaking� and goes along the same lines with its crossover jazz styled house. once again kyodai delivers a supa solid house production with large jazz breakdowns and old school vocals that�s right up their with �breaking�. this is also why we called it�breaking pt.2. kyodai is currently working on their debut album for local talk which is due later this year. they�re also travelling around the world with their amazing live dj set that we highly recommend. trust us when we say that these two brothers really now how to turn up the heat in a club�serious biz!

with a title such as passage17, we can rest assured that reeko wants to take us somewhere, into the depths of something. he wants us to know this long road is rife with a variety of sensations, but more than anything this new release is a journey into something more important that is yet to come. if we want to get there, we must first travel this road.

quality limited reissue of this classic lp from californian singer/songwriter, ned doheny. though beloved of the recent balearic scene with fans including harvey, lexx, moonboots et al, ned was under-appreciated during his own era with this superlative lp only ever securing a vinyl release in japan, making it a seriously hard to get hold of album but definitely worth the effort. following on from his iconic hard candy lp, 1979 s prone is again bursting with californian sun-soaked gems showcasing doheny s signature laidback funky musical style and relaxed unpolished vocals. from quality soulful groovers such as think like a lover and if you only knew through to the sophisticated disco sounds of sweet friction and funky love , there s not a filler in sight but the icing on this tasty west coast cake has got to be dj s favourite - the great jazz-funk floor-filler to prove my love . an essential album - don t miss!

easily recognizable by his impassioned johnny cash-meets-charlie feathers vocals, the french-born don cavalli began to get any notice in the greater music and blog community when he released his full-length *cryland* (2007), which featured his amalgamation of swamp blues, lo-fi pop, country gospel, and early rock & roll. in 2013, don cavalli will release his new studio album *temperamental*, staying on blues track while dismantling the traditional codes of the field. indeed, thanks to an old fashioned sound take and a contemporary production, don cavalli makes his new album sound old but incredibly modern. and if *temperamental* goes through many kinds of sounds, in the end it always goes straight to the point: a unique cajun blues from the bayou serving a soul and sophisticated voice. a must-have!

mule musiq now proudly presents eleven unreleased compositions by roedelius produced between 1990 and 2001. all of them are pearls of electronic deepness that show another side of the man that lives in the little lower austrian town baden. his famouse ultra sweet piano melodies can be heard � but they are not the centre of the productions. instead a more electronic side of his genius call the tune. with a minimalistic approach he let synth melodies highfly while some droney, melancholic atmospheres enlarge in the background.

with releases under a range of pseudonyms (orpheus, sir leon greg, nite vision) and support for his previous explorations of depth coming from the likes of john heckle, dj deep, aroy dee, chicago skyway and steffi to name but a few, once again perseus traxx unashamedly shows his nature on this release. thoughts, feelings and emotions are by far the most important influences on music, and capturing moments then translating into a musical form he once again documents the more personal elements of his life, taking you deep. perseus weaves a rich tapestry of emotions and desires using heavily weighted bass tones and skipping percussion that thread together with expansive strings and pads. these are married with more detailed melodies and modulated tones that shimmer in and out of the psyche as he uses analogue boxes and their warmth like a loom. this collection of music ranges from the deep and dreamy, to total transcendence within steady dance floor rhythms clothed in a warm yet spacious fabric of sound. deep house, sometimes with a real sense of urgency that juxtaposes with it is inherent flights of fancy.

nice price deal !!! every once in a while a particular record will land in our laps which we have very little information on but usually somebody will unearth its origins after a bit of homework and more often than not it turns out to be a relatively well-known producer operating under a new and secret pseudonym. what we are looking at here however, seems to be quite the enigma. one can only speculate as to who watkins & almadovar might be.

the first release on project squared in a year, *make your mess* is a three track ep by melbournes craig mcwhinney. craig has been making music for years and releasing since the late 2000s on melbourne labels such as pinksilver, melbourne deepcast and his own haul music, also on labels based further afield such as brendon moellers steadfast and speedy js electric deluxe. craigs music is techno, but it isnt preoccupied with the 4/4, employing broken, swung and rolling drum patterns. his tracks often include melodic and harmonic elements and effects reminiscent of dub techno but without conforming to the pastiche template of the sub-genre. the make your mess ep is composed of the core title track and two additional tracks that arose as interpretations and variations on the initial production: *provocation is an excuse* is more furious and loud, *disengage* is more restrained. all three are around 125 bpm and were produced in the space of a month between september and october 2012.

four releases in now and the quality continues on midnight love club! montel presents the forth release in the shape of 3 heavy duty club cuts with a rather distinct nod to the house sound of 90s nyc/nj. there s not too much info on this montel character, but one thing we do know is that he s a man with a penchant for vintage house & garage. a dj, collector and producer that has decided to give back a little after all these years. and these years of experience are certainly evident in his authentic house and garage sound that has already picked up a fan base that includes bicep, jordan peak and waze & odyssey!

guilty pleasure, we all have them. this release updates and fiddles with some serious guilty pleasures that all but the youngest of music fans will recognise. hod stash is a series of treasures from a label that shall remain nameless but youll no doubt recognise.
