an imaginary country continues from the trajectory of tim heckers last album, the critically acclaimed harmony in ultraviolet, while also showing a few new tricks. tim has incorporated more pulses into this work and also works with a sound pallete including overdriven mellotron strings and synthesizer. at times this album is less overtly aggressive than previous works, but the notion that this is pastoral work would be dead wrong as there are plenty of the agitated crescendos that he is know for. this music backs off from the void of immensity in favor of a terrain of lushness and warmth.

extremely welcome vinyl reissue for this highly collectible and obscure early 80s jazz-funk-disco fusion lp from david astri. originally released on tiny baltimore label award, the album oozes quality all the way from the excellent opening track, super-cool sexy floor-filler *get down to it* - with standouts including the superb brass-driven funk workout *do it right*, the beautifully delicate and dreamy *safe and sound* and breezy summer groover *everyone has feelings*, both with sweet vocals from karen goldberg. however, the lp saves the best till last with an amazing eight and a half minute version of the wonderful in-demand electro funk boogie burner *dancing digits*, a big play for many discerning djs including harvey, todd terje etc. dont miss your chance to own this fantastic slice of jazz-funk heaven.

dutch drum & bass imprint citrus recordings has been renowned for kick starting the careers of numerous acts in the present day drum & bass scene. after releasing their last lp early 2013 they now push forward an australian/german combo better known as rregula & dementia!

marco bernardi has enjoyed a long an illustrious career, but its probably in these last couple of years that the glaswegian producer has found his sound. previous releases on frustrated funk, clone, royal oak, creme organisation, futureboogie and rawax have built a solid reputation, and key releases last year on carl craigs planet e and mos/delsin have sealed his rep as a unique player in the industry.

when luke solomon got in touch and said he wanted to work with local talk we felt both honoured and happy, especially since we have been fans for a long time and mats actually booked him to his raw fusion club in the late 90s. he has been around long enough to be considered a legend within the scene. we couldnt agree more. lost channels, a 130 bpm piano driven and punk-dubby new york inspired house track comes in two versions. the raw & stripped version is exactly what the name says, sharp snares & hi-hats, piano chords, a driving rhythm with lukes trademark percussion sprinkled on top. the live piano version is actually the original version and is peppered with more of everything. bubbly fx, more of that staccato piano and of course that muscular bassline. for remix duties it is the return of an old local talk friend, wil maddams. it seems like wil has spent some time in detroit since last time. this remix sounds like something that would come straight out of the d, his clever drum programming holds this track together with its deep pads and bubbling bassline. it is a retro (but fresh) techno jam for 2014.

after the last singles, fenou presents 20 as a split ep again. the a-side cut is flled with strings and boxers by dapayk solo. built on a gentle but quite hypnotic analog beat, epic strings and harp sounds unfold next to stylistically confdent electronica instruments, which mutually offer space to be returned in the next part.
