the next release on our label comes from our dear friend franco cinelli from argentina. franco is one of the main artists and pioneers of electronic music in his country and also has been working as a dj outside of argentina for many years now. besides the fact that he is a very talented and super tight dj, franco also has been releasing some impressive music over the past years. we have been following his productions for quite a while and therefor we are super happy to finally welcome him on board of our label with this truly great release

april showers bring may flowers, but this april claude vonstroke brings you the rain break. inspired by two different songs from the 80s - (razes classic break for love and oran juice jones the rain), claude has replayed and re-sung all the music from scratch to make a special cover tune of both tracks changed and combined into a surefire dirtybird classic. to quote vonstroke, i kept singing the break for love bassline over and over again in my head but the vocal that always popped in over the top was from the oran juice jones. i cant explain why that happened but i just thought they went together so well that i ran with it.here comes the b is a much weirder affair. built with massive psychedelic effects, a huge kick and almost no hi-hat pattern, this is late night cavemen music at its best. this big release from cvs will have you wishing for a downpour so you can go walking in the rain.

andy hart returns after an almost two-year hiatus from the studio to release his first ep on the voyage imprint. following on from urulus greetings from namek, mistress in your mind is the sixth release and adds to a growing collection that already includes releases from harvey sutherland, m5k and ctepeo 57. mistress in your mind loosely stems from the intertwining influences of a love-induced delusion broken down over four tracks. hart draws sentiment from several aspects of his record collection, giving subtle nods to break beat, soul, acid and space-laden house.

lumièreslanuit is glad to welcome istanbul-based duo bärtaub (mutlu san & batuhan güler) for the 6th release of the label. as in most of the duos, each of the members has his speciality. whereas mutlu focuses primarely on the music production, batu is known by istanbuls house/techno aficionados as a restless dj. bärtaubs debut ep is called rhizome (type of plant root) not without reason. beats, melodies and bassline jump over, crawl under and draw apart from each other in unexpected and non-hierarchical ways. in the end, they all come together in a harmonious manner that creates an overall of excitingly playful forest-like atmosphere.

those familiar with the world of dub disco and modern balearica should know all about layne fox, a san francisco-based producer who has released some killer records over the last decade as part of noted collective 40 thieves. the bay area ensemble has been responsible for some killer records, including gems on rong music and leng, who released their expansive debut album the sky is yours back in 2014. now, fox has decided to go it alone for an outing on magic feet that marks his first solo outing since 2005 s move me under the tuffy alias. its something of a gem, too, effortlessly combining many of his familiar influences with nods towards druggy italo-disco and horizontal pop.

is it balearic releases a debut ep from clandestino s joe morris. 4 tracks of lush electronic grooves. the title track golden tides is a mid tempo houser with beautiful pads and soft arpeggios. late afternoon sundowner vibrations. the second track bayou has touches of sueno latino about it, an afterdark evocative tropical house trip. on the flip the first track light of the moon is a more reflective slo mo affair. warm pads and 808 sounds melting into cicadas. finally we come to mpondo theme. sounds of nature kalimba and loose percussion all sit together and watch the sun dip over the savannah horizon. a proper ep this covering all shades.

according to white material pair galcher lustwerk and alvin aronson, their first collaborative album under the studio ost alias contains a mix of breezy electro, aquatic dub, high speed jit, and shimmering atmospherics. while clearly tongue-in-cheek, it s a fairly accurate description. certainly, there s a fluidity, moodiness and palpable sense of atmosphere at the heart of scenes, which casually drifts between hard-edged club workouts, hazy post-club fare and dreamy, horizontal experiments. it was apparently recorded over a three-year period, during jam sessions at various new york studios. its the spontaneous aspect of its creation that has the biggest effect, and makes the whole thing feel like fleeting snapshots of moments in time.

thomas urv and miss mostlys norwegian techno imprint ploink drops the second in its trilogy of releases celebrating the brands 20-year anniversary. following on from the first release that featured renowned scandinavian artists such as prins thomas, mental overdrive, urhaug, nordenstam, christian tilt and hutmacher, the labels next outing sees five more members of the local scene make appearances.

mindtrip presents mt13, which sees another young argentinan talent - farceb - making his mindtrip debut. farceb is a producer whos been pricking ears over the last couple of years with strong releases on labels such as arts, orioni and circular limited. he now joins pfirters imprint with his superb signals from space ep. exoplanet war sets things in motion and is a stylish, entrancing tune, which, if it wasnt for its intrinsic energy and power - would border on the somniferous. next up is signals from space, a tough, brutal and percussive workout, punctuated by dark, organic synth stabs. this track builds and rolls along in a way dancefloors will love. unknown shadow is a powerful, stripped down merciless lump of peak-time techno which cleverly blends atmosphere and hard hitting percussion. the final track - the superb hyperion, is a 6 minute, deadly exercise in pushing intensity and tension to (and sometimes beyond) commonsensical limits. this is mindtrip music!

reissue of one of amsterdam’s most respected producers steve rachmad aka sterac s essential 1996 detroit style techno classic. remastered and housed in full color artwork. tip! originally released on stalwart dutch techno label, 100% pure (then entitled primus / osirion), this one has been getting plays by a fresh new wave of deep digging djs over the past years. this timely re-issue was needed. the a side osirion, is built on a classic drum loop layered with rachmad style arppegiators and euphoric strings. the b side features a more abstract 909 detroit infused loop, full of heavy synths and percussion. both tracks have stood the test of time and sound fresh as ever.

crimes of the future rounds off the year in fine style with an absolutely essential ep from twins. 3 moody us house cuts straught out of atlanta and a sublime deep remix from label boss scott fraser. opening up with cause of dissociation, a slice of banging chicago house that would not have been out of place in the hands of mike dunn at the warehouse. rattling drums amd percussion a cut up vocal and a killer bassline make for dancefloor devastation. next up -you take too- takes things a little deeper, maintining the groove with chicago inspired percussion and filtered drums and stabbing synths grooving the track along. over on side b scott fraser takes -you take too- on to 5am on a dark smoke filled dancefloor, with a deep bassline and soaring strings. adding additional percussion, keys and swirling echoes... could be the sound of a lost nu groove classic. finally things close out with -a way from now- with more chicago inspired goodness with a funky bassline, pumping percussion and eerie ethereal keys rounding the ep off in fine style.

nightime drama is proud to present a 3 track ep from yoshihiro arikawa, featuring a remix by aubrey. the tokyo based producer yoshihiro arikawa is known for a compound of minimal and 90 s ghetto house, releasing a series of critically heralded eps on logistic in france, kb and his own label kodaira tracks under his alias d kawa between 2003 and 2009. after a short hiatus, arikawa restarted the activities under his real name and has revealed a new aspect of his music on a number of releases from international labels such as affin, hypnotic room, labyrinth, m_grey, toffler sound and swap. his first release on nightime drama comes with a remix from aubrey who is no stranger to any techno lover’s ears. with over 25 years in the industry, he has been involved with some of the biggest names in the business and brings a funky energetic remix to the release.

last year saw the mysterious garage shelter make their debut appearance on skylax, and little is still known about them! all we know is they are back with some freshness on the skylax classic sublabel. first up is bring back love, a track that will sink its claws in with that infectious vocal sample hook. sticking with the old school sample vibe is the lonely heart dub of attempt, it’s a bit more mellow but still has plenty of groove in it. friend of the garage shelter, dj la foudre, appears over on the b side with it’s alright (signal st mix). still on that catchy sample tip, it features one of the grooviest bassline and funky guitar pairings i’ve heard in a long time. next up, perception 66 is a smooth house affair from yet another friend, asa no hikari. rounding out the package is garage shelter’s own you (still), a dreamy pad-driven track that may indeed be the pick of the release. while we don’t know much about garage shelter, we can’t help but look forward to what they come out with next!

introducing felix leifur, dirt crews latest discovery, an all new, raw and savvy talent from reykjavik, iceland. reykjavik has a population of just over 120.000, so the disco, hip hop and soul sampling, house music community that felix rolls with is pretty tight knit, giving him a unique and inspired perspective on the sound. remixing is friend of the label, manchesters hidden spheres.

janette jnett pitruzzello is considered something of a legend in her home city of melbourne, where she’s been djing for well over two decades. here, she delivers her debut solo ep, featuring a quartet of tracks co-produced by maurice fulton. the latter also delivers a solo mix of opener reflection, which adds a little leftfield disco sparkle and percussive sweatiness to an otherwise organ-heavy deep house groove. theres a similarly cheery, funky and disco-tinged feel to the rolling, cut-up house goodness of swangzipani. elsewhere, the duo gets a little stranger in pursuit of dancefloor thrills bubbles away is deliciously dark, wonky and intergalactic, while judge not wanders off into head-nodding, instrumental hip-hop territory.

anyone familiar with the music of sinisa tamamovic knows the man is an expert in techno floor fillers.... the tracks here are no exception, valentina and confused reside in the world of bold, unrelenting grooves constructed with little more than bass and drums: and they get the job done. the bass lines are distinctly sinisa, simple, catchy, and mixed exquisitely, they take on a whole new attitude when played on club systems. valentina starts things strong, its driving rhythm gains energy as atmospheres develop and an worldly vocal enters, a latin american street rhyme that gives the track some international flare. confused is more raw, employing rough drums and ethereal sound effects. either one will do the trick for peak hours and late nights, and expect to hear these all over the place at wmc 2016
