the title track on tychos long-awaited dive lp is just that — a ripple effect record that sounds like three songs in one, as if sound/graphic designer scott hansen just discovered progrock and decided to apply its winding passages to his own singular blend of sinewy synths and bleached beats. its also the first tycho song to feature a prominent guest musician, guitarist zac brown, in this case, who paints outside the lines of hansens halcyon hooks with restless rhythms and monorail-like riffs. the >dive< single fleshes things out even further, as keep shelly in athens and memoryhouse — both rising underground artists in their own right — cut hansens cloud-scraping composition in half and slow his cruise control chords down to a crawl. the misty vocal melodies are still there, but they are now floating through an embryonic assembly of jittery cicadas, rusty gears, and lean loops that are both welcoming and a bit woozy. the sonic equivalent of staring at the sun for too long, really, or two sides of the same cracked mirror.

tetine are brazilian artists/musicians bruno verner and eliete mejorado and are stars of sao paulos avant garde music scene - uniting electronic music with brazilian dark sambas, performance art, spoken word, super 8 movies and whatever came into their heads. their musical influences range from bands such as throbbing gristle, peaches, tuxedomoon to kraftwerk, can, but it also incorporates heavily the more experimental side of brazilian musicians such as paulinho da viola, os mutantes, chico buarque or the tropicalists and rio baile funk artists. since 2002 they have lived and worked in london. three years ago they brought baile funk to the uk with their slum dunk radio show and subsequently with slum dunk presents funk carioca album. in 2005 they compiled the sexual life of the savages for soul jazz records - an album of obscure early 80s underground post punk from são paulo. in 2006 tetine played at the opening night of tropicalia - a revolution in brazilian culture - at barbican centre alongside brazilian multi-artist assume vivid astrofocus.

transmissions from the cyber dance imprint have been sporadic since its inception in 2005, but when they arrive they are always something very special indeed. ostensibly one of italo discos great lost producers, we suspect that bandidos gang may well be a nom de plume for one of the labels many associates. whatever their provenance, the tracks certainly sound like vintage italo, with >marinche< leading with a pulsating bass arpeggio and synth horn melody worthy of moroder, whilst the flemming dalum & steen gjerulff remix adds layers of vocoder and a variety of cosmic accents to its sturdy frame. >last train to tucamari< meanwhile takes a more languid approach, pulling in an opposite direction to the speeding train samples, whilst flemming dalum & mike saltas remix adds some guitar licks, hazy synth atmospherics and even a flute solo which just adds to the classic italo feel.

the magic of classic house music has always lain in the way it finds a soul in the machine, eking warm organic sounds from cold circuitry. and tracks dont come much warmer or more organic than >oranges<, a glorious eight-minute slow-burner thats the second single from wolverhampton producer mark es 2011 release stone breaker. >oranges< is a track that demonstrates how the simplest of ingredients — a quietly insistent four-to-the-floor rhythm, an understated bassline, synth pads that sound like the first intimations of a balearic sunrise — can combine to create something remarkable. anyone who has got the cd/digital release of stone breaker, of course, will know this already — but this release is the first chance to own this track on vinyl, as it was absent from the albums lp release. on the flipside is a remix of >oranges< by mark e himself: the appropriately-named space dub, a lindstrøm-esque reworking that transports the track from the dance floor to some distant orbit, drifting through space on a wash of lambent fuzz-toned synths. as different as they are, both tracks share a sense of both space and intimacy, a mellow charm that is evocative and inclusive. a soul in the machine.

philadelphia producer king britt has dusted off his analogue machinery for 3-tracks of sci-fi indebted synth work. hyperdub present a brilliant and subtle curveball courtesy of phillys finest, king britt, in his new guise as fhloston paradigm. built from drum machines, analogue keyboards and 303s, and edited in the computer, these three lean and mean tracks have an unadorned feeling that build on hyperdubs love for old john carpenter style electronics, combined with dr patrick gleasons ear for the abstract, and bouncy drum machine syncopation that sounds like they are aiming for an alternative present where analogue synths are still king.

originally hatched in montreal, but currently based in london, djs anstascia and vivie-ann have established their musical blueprint by proving that they dont fit the quintessential stereotype they re toying around with. in the last few years, blond:ish has carved out its unique production recipe which focuses on the art of creating music that is organic and multi-dimensional. provocative basslines contrasted with smooth textures and sticky vocals blend into a genre of house that rebels against being pigeonholed to any specific category. now, fueled by the duos sharp taste-maker instincts and technical flair, they have not only charmed the industry masses but are set to release on the most notable labels around, including their psychedelic influenced >lovers in limbo< ep out on kompakt mid april, a record inspired by anstascias and vivie-anns interest in late 60s musical movements.

the new ep from memoria comes from fast-rising romanian producer vid whose previous outings have come on labels including fear of flying and barraca music. vid (vidum) aka sorin rastoaca is a producer obsessed with nature and organic sounds. his latest release >rebirth<, is stripped but not light on feeling, and mines a vein somewhere between deep house and minimal techno. etime is a fluttery, eerie cut that works on many subtle layers. like the feathery minimal percussion of villalobos, the romanians sounds present like flapping butterfly wings as a kick drum punches out a varied pattern below. poem is a little louder and bolder, with a firm rolling kick drum and drunken, wubby sounds running right through its core. plenty of sonic details flesh out the languorous but slightly tribal groove. rebirth is again about little tiny details and how they evolve with time, but the framework they inhabit this time is deep, late-night house with gentle tinkles on keys coming over like a fluttering candle in the dark. 3729 gets its head down and mines a shifty, itching and tight minimal groove, closing out an ep which shows vid to be a master of working minimum sounds into maximum effects.

bristol hub soul motive scored a massive coup in enlisting punch drunk boss peverelist to remix >stableface<, one of the standout tracks from clouds of moments, the 2010 debut set from lithuanian experimental dubstepper eleven tigers. that they choose to complement it with two further remixes is tantamount to treating us, with both dark sky and macc on board to further re-contextualise the cracked atmospherics. in the hands of dark sky, >stableface< is twisted into a brooding dark side steppah with subtle hints of jungle pressure pervading the lower reaches, the 50 weapons trio playfully teasing with the vocal before dropping in a bassline that can only be described as rude. on the flip, macc showcases his enviable drumming skills with a heavily cinematic roller of a remix dominated by those rumbling, live rhythms

dro & lodzy are back! this is their second single on absolut freak, the follow up to the successful >not yet now< with the remixes by dilemn and gooseflesh.

two american heroes team up to deliver the straight prison-funk, and they ve got the tattoos to prove it. somebody call the department of homeland security. its no secret that kris wadsworth and butane have both done hard time. in this case, a simple mutual respect lead to the decision that this record must be made. and so here it is. three tracks of uncompromising raw attitude. nothing premeditated here. just honest,warehouse-style jack-mode techno, done by two of the midwests finest. some djs over-sell themselves with contrived media stunts, fancy pr schemes, and little substance. youll find none of that here. we are just a couple of convicts who rip raw techno tracks. we speak through our music.

2 tracks from the mc that brought you >lidl< and was guest vocalist on mias paper planes remix that went into the us top 5. he has been around the world, finished his degree, guested on dj shadows >i m excited< and is getting ready to break out properly on his own. this is a taster for his mini album that is coming very soon, two tracks that take him in two very different directions. kunta kinte is a classic slice of funky, south african inspired house/ garage. with a strong lyrical message ab takes it back to the time when mcs had something to say other than how fly they were (not that he isnt and he will do some of those). produced by dan anderson from nu sound therapy. the tune is hot! eba eater is a quality slice of african hip hop produced by las twofifteens. it bounces!

feadz and kito met in 2008 at a music festival in australia and bonded instantly over their passion for music and music production. the pair kept in contact over the years and met up a number of times when they found themselves in the same city. in 2011 feadz invited kito to visit him in paris to work on some music. after a week in the studio an exciting new project was born, a project that celebrates their mutual love for techno music

we have decided to publish these tracks as our first release because they took inspiration from the two words label name: eleusína and recreations. thinking about that ancient mysteries and hoping they could survive till nowadays and in the future as a aid of our poor life helped us a lot in composing these tracks.
the two track ep was compost almost interely by machines with a little computer aid. cause we are only humans and conditioned by our fears and weaknesses, we have decided to make them almost mono tracks to maximize the transfer achievement to vinyl. have we took the wrong way? we do not know, but we keep some time to reflect about that and find the best balance between stereo and mono that fits our soul.

the day leonard cohen and phil spector decided to make an album together marked the beginning of one of the most controversial partnerships in either mans career.
over the course of three weeks, the pair had written 15 new songs, a selection of which ended up on the 1977 album >death of a ladies man<. it is true that a cursory listen to the album suggest that the whole thing was simply a ragbag of crazy notions thrown into the air to see where they landed. but if you pay attention, it will quickly make sense.
pressing on 180 grams audiophile vinyl, comes in gatefold sleeve.

masami akita and lasse marhaug have been working together since the mid 90ies. the first release on marhaugs (now deleted) label jazzassin records in 1995 was the >first rock< split single. in 2001 merzbow and jazzkammer (marhaugs project with john hegre) released a live album. later, akita and marhaug executed several live collaborations, but often with other artists such as hair stylistics and jim o rourke. in 2010 they finally got together to record as duo. recorded at gok sound studios in tokyo the results can now be heard as >mer mar<.
made using a combination of scrap metal screeching, analogue synths, and enough effect pedals to give you overweight with most airline companies, >mer mar< is a tour de force for both of these noise veterans, hinting to some classic 80s merzbow jams such as material action.

nice price deal !!! for its next release, mos calls on the services of label head aroy dee and perlon/rush hour man san proper to craft a beautiful four track ep entitled perfume. the truth of the matter is, after the friends had enjoyed something of a wild night out in amsterdam, they returned to san propers studio for a live session which involved a bottle of scotch!

m_rec ltd is proud to welcome on board cassegarin, greek-british producer tsiridis and berlin/vienna based composer and producer evirgen. in this new vinyl m_rec ltd, they show two original tracks and a remix by ed davenport. the a side opens with a painter of modern life, a track where they paint their perfect rhythm of modern life. a sequence of hypnotic techno where the rhythms are never heavy, clean sound. a brilliant and apparent melody seems to revolve around. a touch of class that only few can maintain.complete the a side, a remix of an artist who has a lot of quality: ed davenport (figure spc, liebe detail, nrk music, etc.) he drags the original track into a vortex of syncopated rhythms and deep atmospheres, the groove that comes out is amazing. on the b side cassegrain show one track. palette is very techno, the rhythm is direct and straight without stopping. light and soft sounds rise up slowly. everything is transformed into a pleasant trip, exciting and alive.
