Tetine are Brazilian artists/musicians Bruno Verner and Eliete Mejorado and are stars of Sao Paulos avant garde music scene - uniting electronic music with Brazilian dark sambas, performance art, spoken word, super 8 movies and whatever came into their heads. Their musical influences range from bands such as Throbbing Gristle, Peaches, Tuxedomoon to Kraftwerk, Can, but it also incorporates heavily the more experimental side of Brazilian musicians such as Paulinho Da Viola, Os Mutantes, Chico Buarque or the Tropicalists and Rio Baile Funk artists. Since 2002 they have lived and worked in London. Three years ago they brought Baile Funk to the UK with their Slum Dunk radio show and subsequently with Slum Dunk presents Funk Carioca album. In 2005 they compiled The Sexual Life Of The Savages for Soul Jazz Records - an album of obscure early 80s underground post punk from São Paulo. In 2006 Tetine played at the opening night of TROPICALIA - A Revolution in Brazilian Culture - at Barbican Centre alongside Brazilian multi-artist Assume Vivid Astrofocus.
