“in the silence” is the english language version of Ásgeir’s breakthrough debut album “dyrd í dauðathogn”, translated from icelandic by john grant. the vinyl lp includes a download code.

following the peace obscured ep by bokeh, his joint venture with anthone, katsunori sawa sets yet another mark on the weevil neighbourhood with his first full-length solo artist album on the label. titled secret of silence the eight tracks-spanning work of kyoto based sawa drills through japan techno, industrial breaks and noise while flirting with breakcore and a more aggressive take on dub.
katsunori sawa has been with the label for pretty much four years now with solo projects as well as joint ventures (besides the aforementioned bokeh, he’s also part of steven porter with his brother in arms yuji kondo with whom he also runs their own 10 label). his musical career reaches back another few years when he was writing and producing under eoc (short for enormous o clock), including an album for ai records.
the release comes as a limited edition 12” record on black vinyl with artwork by l.a. based lee noble (no kings records/ bathetic).

in april of this year, donato dozzy took a set of mouth harps back to his parents house in the italian countryside and set about exploring the possibilities of that most basic of instruments. the mouth harp had been calling to dozzy ever since childhood, when he had discovered the marranzano on a holiday in sicily with this parents at the tail end of the 1970s. almost four decades later, dozzy had begun to see in this peculiar, ancient sound, the roots of the music hed been making and playing in clubs all these years. it was time to find out how far he could trace it all back. the loud silence is the result of those explorations, an accompanied deep-dive into childhood memory, social history and the roots of psychedelia.

athens of the north presents two of the disco floaters from our previously unreleased aotnlp original friends and buddies, both of these versions are on 45 for the first time. the stripped down version of silence that you keep benefits from the more direct tight vocal. without the synths there is much more space in the mix which suits the melancholy deep disco groove so much better. on the flip po man has also been stripped right back to its more basic elements also for the better, less is so much more.

the debut in the first 12- sees dinkis and paul cart with the silence of dark people -three originals written by gabriele mineo in collaboration with his friend paul cart, and for closing this wax release a fantastic remix by impellizzeri & stupia. a work that embraces melodies and emotions at the same time, with the idea of creating something modern and original to convey these emotions in your hearts.
