last spotted together on the cut some three years ago with their eponymous debut lp, the crew like kaidi tatham, akwasi mensah, matt lord, and dego ‘ranks’ mcfarlane reunite for this fresh 2000black 12&#8243,,,,,. off the christmas card list is apparently a precursor to a second album from the quartet and it’s the last 12&#8243,,,,, in a fine year for 2000black that saw the killer dego lp as the centrepiece. the a-side is dedicated to the title cut, an endlessly slinky boogie number that really showcases the collective musicality of this crew, whilst the b-side is split between “hurry whilst they are away” and “fila high”. the former is bugged out beat down west london-style, and the latter a killer latin-flecked cut.

ihre wurzeln liegen klar im soul und gospel, aber die große aufmerksamkeit bekam candi staton erst, als sie sich mitte der 70er dem disco öffnete. mit *nightlites* gibt es nun eines ihrer besten alben als wiederveröffentlichung. ihr insgesamt zehntes album erschien erstmals 1981 auf sugarhill records und wurde von dave crawford, mit dem staton schon ihren 70er-hit *young hearts run free* aufnahm, produziert. auf dem zuvor lange vergriffenen *nightlites* finden sich neben einer ballade (*hurry sundown*) und einer wunderschönen uptempo-nummer (*count on me*) vor allem songs für den dancefloor. mit *suspicious minds* gibt es zudem ein dance-cover eines altbekannten elvis-klassikers. der vinyl-lp liegt die cd-version des albums bei.

the supremes, the most commercially successful girl group in pop history, were one of the jewels in motown records artist stable. given wonderful material by motown s amazing songwriters, the group scored numerous number one pop hits, as did singer diana ross when she left the group and went solo, and motowns bright, modern, and uptown image as a label had a lot to do with the way these ladies gracefully and elegantly presented themselves and took over a song. two dozen of those number one hits, both as the supremes and as ross solo, are collected here, including the timeless classics *come see about me*, *you cant hurry love*, *you keep me hangin on* and *stop! in the name of love*. the album also features a bonus remix of *you keep me hangin on*.

our first go ibiza compilation has been compiled by bobby & steve and michael hughes and mixed by our very own bobby & steve. it features 28 amazing tracks and is modelled around the launch of our groove odyssey presents go ibiza four day weekender, which took place from the 19th-22nd of may 2017 at the beach star hotel, san antonio bay, ibiza. with over 40 artists from around the globe coming together on the magical island of ibiza, it was a memorable affair and many of the guests now feature on the album.
