this record was created for the space age lounge, a technomystical chill room in goa, india.

the material collated on this third release from heavenly music corporation was composed specifically for st. giga in japan, a satellite broadcast radio station transmitting ethereal audio harmony 24 hours a day. what made this station otherworldly was its programming, motivated by tidal movements, the aquatic ebbs and flows of each day synchronised to the activity and intensity of the music broadcast.

nach dem erfolg des ersten bandes setzt „nihon no wave 2“ die entdeckung der verborgenen geschichte der japanischen underground-elektronikszene der 80er jahre fort. dieser zweite teil taucht noch tiefer in die archive ein und präsentiert weitere seltene tracks von unbekannten künstlern, die am rande der japanischen independent-musikszene agierten.

wie sein vorgänger fängt „nihon no wave 2“ die rohe energie und den experimentellen geist der „nippon-wave“-Ära ein – in der lo-fi-synthesizer, minimalistische rhythmen und post-punk-Ästhetik zu einer einzigartigen japanischen interpretation globaler sounds verschmolzen. viele dieser aufnahmen, die ursprünglich auf kassetten-compilations oder in kleiner auflage auf vinyl veröffentlicht wurden und keine internationale verbreitung fanden, sind außerhalb japans praktisch unbekannt geblieben.
