denis sulta s silver service imprint - an offshoot of sulta selects - present ssss-3, a two-track collaborative package from the inimitable hammer and atlus, denis own darker alias. taking reign over the a-side, belfast export hammer brandishes a weighty dose of low-slung, swollen bass and disorienting vocal stabs on dance since . using a palette of cathartic 90s house vocals he morphs their energy into something far more twisted. for the b-side, atlus forges an equally hefty fusion of raw percussion and swirling vocals, spun round by a dizzying acid bass lead. wasting no time in heading straight to the dancefloor, ssss3 sees two esteemed characters doing what they do best.

following hammer s stand out release on loft records last year, canna gets the remix treatment by four killer producers. first up, lauer adds his trademark flavour to the already outstanding title track canna , bending the mind with an acidic top line and classic korg m1 bells.the a2 sees supreems take the techno edge off man ray replacing the drums with a more electro tinged style of rhythm, whilst echoing the synths into the back of the mix to let the drums take the foreground. flip it over and you get two reworkings of manaka . firstly, domenic cappello switches the breaksy flow of the original for a more club ready kick to compliment those stabs, in turn elevating the breakdown to greater effect. in contrast, lord of the isles dives deeper into the breaks feel of hammer s original, adding glitchy samples and oddball synth lines to take this one an even more interplanetary tip.

loft records returns after a fruitful year to kick-start 2017 with three infectious cuts from rising irish talent hammer. the belfast-born producer is well known for his lauded releases on feel my bicep (in collaboration with the label founders) as well as optimo music but production isn t his only facet. hammer has shared dj booths with the likes of hunee, sasha, midland, craig richards and nd_baumecker, whether at his residency at sub club or at his many gigs throughout europe. with loft recordings reflecting on a prosperous 2016, including a class two track release from isaac tichauer, followed by a chart topping remix package featuring hackman, dorsia, lancelot and bicep, hammer s innovative contribution to the imprint looks to follow suit. soaring pads and intricate drums form the overall aesthetic of canna but as the track progresses serene melodies and subtle snare rolls come together to form a harmonious eruption of synths. manaka then shifts to syncopated percussion and spectral nuances before man ray delivers distorted atmospherics and twisted chord sequences to conclude the package.

after releasing a full length ambient album by mario hammer and the lonely robot in november, we now reales a vinyl 12- with two remixes and one original from the album. the ep kicks of with a rare remix of german producer duo extrawelt who have created a somewhat unusual hybrid of 2 of the album tracks. their remix connects mario hammer’s ambient music with their beat formula in a brilliant way. extrawelt s remix of -mono no aware / l esprit de l escalier- shows signs of a voyage since it starts off very quiet with sounds from mario hammer s original and then weaves in the accelerating techno beats and later electro beats they are so famous for.
