one of the top drummers in the israeli scene, tel-aviv based songwriter and producer beãtfóøt launches his solo project with the powerful new ep de vibez, a fanciful gutter-glam cross between stoner-acid-pop and 90s-garage-punk. side a contains some stunning originals alongside a surprising cover of a melancholic oldie by the legendary german singer nico. side b be the remixes: the first, a colorful club-driven remix by garzen records head honchos & electronic duo red axes, followed by a groovy down tempo drone version by the mesmerizing smagghe & cross.

for the past two decades, ivan smagghe has perfected the art of making spaced-out clubbers dance, has ridden a fine line and run his label les disques de la mort. rupert cross is a london-based composer who has worked with michael finissy and julian anderson as well as writing music for television and theatre. before/after ma, an album which sat on the fringes of experimental music passed through an industrial particle accelerator. s&c give you the tracks codenamed timothy dalton (according to ivan, the laser sound in the track reminded us of flash gordon). neither pop, nor psychedelic, nor ambient, nor house, nor techno, nor post punk nor even new wave are spared, but none are singled out. to nurture this proto-album, the duo also called upon the talents of tim felton, the outstanding guitarist from the cult band broadcast.

as part of our 10th anniversary this year, huntleys + palmers are very excited to present a special release with a combination of our musical influences old and new smagghe & cross feat. matthew herbert + remixes ivan smagghe has been a long time influence on the h+p world and we re huge fans of his new smagghe & cross project with the film composer and programmer, rupert cross. not only that, but one of the tracks features another hero, matthew herbert - making a rare appearance on vocals (and sounding pretty robert wyatt-esque in the process). additionally, we re really chuffed to have commissioned a honey soundsystem generator remix by jackie house, super-swedes, samo dj & pedrodollar turn in a trippy groover, and have enlisted the services of the dj who played the first ever h+p party back in 2007, pilooski - completing another circle during the 10th anniversary year.

having come to light on optimo music, the junto club now kick off the snap crackle & pop label with a new single that builds on their promising reputation. shiviana is a perfect encapsulation of what the band are about, channelling all kinds of wave styles into their instruments but still coming off sounding contemporary and seductive at once. khidja comes on board to remix the track, turning it into an acidic burner with a heavy dose of bombast thrown in. ikiryo presents a more post punk side to the junto club sound, which smagghe & cross then buff up into a crafty electro number for the dancers.

the kachiri remix ep features a varied selection from some of the finest. kicking off with tronik youth who takes the title track and reboots into a harder darker groove, pushing the synths to breaking point. man power ignites a fire on the dancefloor with real bass and spacey chords. ivan smagghe creates an off kilter eclectic groove with a different energy. jamie patton dubs out pink ghost with a twisted and warped groove that takes it to a new cosmos. whilst, kasper bjorke takes us down to the sea with his love vibes and tropical rework of volupia. craig bratley adds his dark synths and toughened grooves for late night dance floors. two mamarrachos lead us on an epic 11 minute journey with their massive pink ghost funk groove.

colors, the east-london party collective has been on a roll as of late, with a spate of successful events that have taken them across europe to berlin, istanbul and barcelona to name a few countries. as the name suggests, each event draws inspiration from the colour spectrum, with guests encouraged to dress up in a different chosen shade each night to get down to a soundtrack influenced by deep house, funk, disco and techno.

footprintz are on a rich run of form right now, showing a craftsmanship in their songs that is so often lacking in modern day dance music. new single favourite game is set to further buck this trend when it drops on december 3rd (general release).

nice price deal !!! luca baldini is a talented italian artist based in berlin who produce just beautiful timeless electronic house music, known in the circuit for his drama society project (along with music partner sergio ricciardone) and releases for turbo, fine and (his brand new) drama society recordings. after the first hell yeah release ever hermann der rammler luca is back with his first fullalbum called apnea to be released early 2010 on hell yeah and this is the apetizer: hooked is a fat killer groove full of synths and cut up vocals fighting eachother in depth while icecrash (available on vinyl only) is another super dope slab of electronic funk which already grabbed fans like laurent garnier, tiga, davide squillace, who are hammering this since months. this essential 12inch is completed by a superb hard to describe its a fine line rework of hooked, freaky proto tech-funk: ivan smagghe and tim paris at their inimitable best. hell yeah

it is very difficult to present david duriez without writing an encyclopedic tome as its influence on the house music in france was decisive. since its inception in 1992, david released over a hundred records under his name, tens under various pseudonyms, mainly on vinyls on the most renowned labels like 2020vision, ovum, systematic, pokerflat, f communication, under the counter, stickman, crosstown rebels, the end, etc .. (the list is long, see discogs.com to be convinced) and as many remixes for some of the greatest artists (think moby, dj sneak, gemini, dj hell, llorca, telex, random factor, johnny fiasco, paul johnson, jori hulkkonen, ralph lawson, random factor, kenny hawkes or mr.c). founder of the label brique rouge and a whole galaxy of other labels, he participated in the creation of internationally recognized labels such as robsoul with phil weeks, freak n chic with dan ghenacia (from apollonia) or rz muzik. at a time when david had federated online the cream of the house producers via a forum (far and long before social networks), ivan smagghe had nicknamed him -the producer of the producers.- , a true house music activist, but most of all david duriez is a devastating dancefloor dj, he did several tours around the world and played in some of the biggest clubs in the world between 1995 and 2010. truly one of the most important players in the french electro scene, david is back on tracks after a few years hyatus. but don t call it a comeback because he has never really gone awol, he has been watching the scene and now he s back in the studio. you can expect a (very) long serie of releases for 2016, you have been warned!

we are happy to introduce you to the second ep from by dc salas on biologic records, the label that he co-founded and manages with the french producer abstraxion. they celebrated their 10 year anniversary at the end of 2015 and continue to release a string of eps to mark the occasion. ‘when you left’ is an ep that overcomes sadness. times can be rough, but it never lasts forever. this original material is complemented by two powerful remixes: one from the mysterious cliff lothar, who is supported by people as diverse as john talabot, delta funktionen and radiohead’s thom yorke. the second remix is done by the australian producer inkswel (bbe). this ep is an important step for the producer as he prepares his debut album ‘the unspoken’ which will be announced by biologic records in the coming months. pressing on transparent green vinyl.

the first spinning plates ep back in february was picked up by print media and radio tastemakers from ra and dj mag to b.traits and moxie, whilst djs as diverse as ivan smagghe and francois k slotted it into their dj bags. as such there has been much demand for a second release, and now it arrives in the form of a fascinating split ep from scene veteran andy rantzen and relative newcomer bruno schmidt, who helps a&r for the label. in fact it was bruno who came across andy’s tracks during a late night youtube session. andy, who remixed inxs and severed heads back in the day and is a sydney based producer who has been active for three decades, had upped a load of his old demos to youtube in the faint hope that one day someone might find them. and damn are we happy he did, because they are brilliant affairs that sound like little else. for his part, bruno has been a louche resident and hifi creator alongside andrew james gustav and gwenan and delivers an exceptional stripped down late night trip/early morning trip.

the double drop label present the second of three parts from the invisible cities collective, made up of luca c & brigante plus guests. following the summers moments in between (featuring ivan smagghe remixes), in my garden finds the guys carving a sumptuous slo-mo house groove, with a rather special secret collaborator on vocal duties. the result is something lush and unique. the original is backed with a fine interpretation from the mole, and the super cool edge of our love completes the package. the new music from invisible cities doesnt stop there. next up is part 3, sunkissed with remixes from apiento and special dubs from mad professor.
