after the great success of his last ep, 8ball is back with a 3-track single featuring the already well known jungle staple you plus two brand new cuts. been higher is ode to the sometimes overwhelming dread of a post party dip. it features haunting synth lines with a looping vocal and deep under-laying bass. this is taken straight out of the 8ball hardcore revisited back catalogue. -table spice- is a jam roly poly wrapped in custard being eaten in the garden of de skool amsterdam. 8ball here strips back the drums to leave the bare bones of atmospheric hardcore tune. comes housed in a hand-screen printed sleeve and stickered centre label. designed in house by grade 10 international.

australian trio huntly with their debut album on barely dressed.

aar is a project by milan-based producer, dj and designer giorgio di salvo. the first grade lp is his first record under this name, self-released in collaboration with haunter records, the first chapter in a new series dedicated to tonal and rhythmic experimentation. advanced audio research is the ironic definition of this new music course of his, a nod to the large amount of esoteric studio gear accumulated and (ab)used during the years. the project itself is the result of years of study and experimentation with generative music matrices, based on the application of a three dimensional array of variables and unknowns to algorithmic pattern creation. the result is punishing, close to the most radical exploits in ear-wrenching breakcore, footwork and jungle, albeit with a sonic and structural finesse that reveals the producer’s manic dedication. track a-4 is produced in collaboration with somec and b-01 in collaboration with heith, channeling abstract and melancholic vibes into the project. vinyl comes in ultra ltd. edition of 100 copies, each one wrapped in a different hand-printed folder.

this is kollaps first full length album after having gained recognition from releasing vinyl only excursions on grade10 records and remixing work for darkstar on warp records. the record has been pressed on to 180 gram vinyl and is has been mastered at star delta. the album comes with a full colour glossy sleeve and centre labels which reflect the music within. they have had their music played by benji b as well as radio 6 and other more underground radio stations. their last release on grade10 got great reviews in the fader, who said i rarely have the occasion to use the word magnificent, but the releases a-sidean epic 7-minute number titled misery has squeezed all the other words out of my head.

sonthaya kalasin was the male lead singer in in the molam section of legendary producer/ impresario surin paksiris beloved musical troupe thidso lam phloen. these recordings, the very best of kalasins work with paksiri, cover the period from the mid-70s to the early 80s and showcase kalasin s mastery of the traditional male molam lower vocal range.

following his debut solo release altar ego ep on la mission in early 2016, j choirboy returns with more bombastic breakbeats and raucous rave chords for your earholes. another sharp shot of nostalgia to the heart to have you waking up spluttering in the glory days of 92. simpler times when the internet was still in black-and-white and you and seven of your mates would pile into gazs vauxhall corsa and drive to a field somewhere off the m25 for a propa wicked rave which you found out about from a party hotline on a crumpled flyer with some tenuous reference to science in the title.

out as a vinyl-only offering on 15th july 2016, gti005 is the first official release from forever, a talent who pulls influence from nostalgic jungle and rave genres, as well as elements from classic house and grime. a1 coarse is a blissful, liquid-like journey that plays on forever s broad range of influences, think haunting melodies mixed with a jungle-like drum foundation for a masterpiece that aligns itself to not one genre. track two invaders is a murkier, spaced-out number with a squelching bass, one for the after-hour sessions. an industrial vibe echoes across invaders five minutes, and the track holds transcendental, meditative quality aligned to forever s 2013 track playfights. turning over to side b, grade 10 invite house icon mr. g to step up for a coarse remix that adds his signature flair to the original, turning coarse into a raw, acid-tinged track

unslaved s punjab is a journey through three unconventional club tracks, hear genres entwined, sounds broken down and set free in the most spell-binding way. first track punjab is an eight minute creeper built from insane drum patterns and layered with an eerie, yet blissful melody. with an almost ambient quality, punjab is an off- kilter yet perfect. on the ip, b1 apogee is a dark masterpiece with the rawest, yet most striking of characters. a track that wouldn t have been out of place in early dubstep or grime circles with a spine-tingling bass line, apogee has that sparse, stripped-back feel where listeners discover hidden elements on each listen. exploring the murkiest corners of electronica, apogee is an intense mover that sets a high standard for the release.

ts7, fresh from reworking singles for afrojack and tulisa, presents >grade a<, a colourful basssline number. in what will be his first vinyl outing since 2008, ts7 utilises his 4x4 roots, working a clever looping bass to perfection with some neat vocal sampling to give it bags of dancefloor swagger. complimented by a heavyweight remix package, >grade a< certainly packs a punch. remixes come from hyperdubs walton and mista mens mella dee. walton delivers an incredible grimy rework, culminating in a series of earshattering breakdowns and some fantastic synth work that draws comparisons with some of wileys early productions. mella dee, meanwhile, moves away from his 8-bar sound as heard in coyotes debut release >ctrl<, and looks to house for inspiration with >grade a< receiving a thorough rework in that vibe. full of the sounds more familiar with his mista men productions but packing more of a grimy punch, mellas remix is a surefire dancefloor favourite.
