eighteen: the year of release, 2018. eighteen: the age at which i first used a synthesizer. in creating eighteen i worked independently in the studio, initially building up tracks with synthesizers and found sounds recorded in my daily comings and goings. after working with the tracks over a period of months, i shared them with a few musicians, who added their own instrumental layers. though working independently, we all shared a similar working process: working in our personal recording spaces, as opposed to larger recording studios.

after a hiatus of more than ten years, one of house musics most essential and influential labels is back in the game. that label is umm, originally from naples in italy, which is now re-launching with a fine ep from milan based producer and dj, ten words.

(lena platonos) is a greek musician, pianist and music composer. one of the pioneers of greek electronic music, she remains active today. lena was born in heraklion, crete, and grew up in athens. she began learning how to play the piano at the age of two and became a professional pianist before turning eighteen. soon afterwards, she received a scholarship to study in the the berlin and vienna academies , where she was exposed to jazz, rock and middle eastern music. she returned to greece in the late 70s and began working with the hellenic broadcasting corporation.

here at nang towers we are really happy to have back slovenian talent sare havlicek, without any doubt one of our favourite producers, and to present you all his latest creation *movies for lovers*. sometimes we like to try something a bit different. often the process of creating an album can be a not-so-simple task: which tracks are the singles? which is the breather track? do we have ten songs? have we covered all the bases? the list goes on. sometimes the answer is to throw convention out the window and just try to harness a burst of energy and get it down on eighteen minutes-a-side of vinyl. we gave sare the following brief: lock yourself in a studio for four weeks and come up with a piece of cohesive work. abandon the formulas, do some experimenting and (most importantly) try some things you wouldnt normally do. *movies for lovers* is the result of that session and encapsulates the feeling of the journey sare embarked on to bring you this album.

from the beginning of bristol archive records involvement in documenting bristols neglected reggae heritage we have wanted to release an album that showcases the great talent of one of the local reggae scenes mainstays, joshua moses.

forteba was born and raised in hungary where he chooses the occupation of an electronic music producer at the age of eighteen. his early compositions were settled near breakbeat and chill-out area but he soon found his passion in straight rhythms and arrangements inspired by german deep-house stuff. he likes to embed various elements of dub and ambient into straight clear rhythms, so his borders of style are hard to define. he produced some successful singles in his home country as >the garage< together with gábor pasztoriális and got released at hungary-based underground labels……
