things open up with >naked<. the kink mix in full effect. it sounds like a soundtrack to an alien invasion for the first half before the squelchy and slightly wonky synths rotate the oscillators to full effect.
>this time< keeps the drums four miles deep but adds on slabs of discordant waveforms. >goody gumdrops< drops in smatterings of portamento blasted arppegiator lines and negative question is all about the handclaps and pulsating bass. a fine rough guide ... and debut for anyone to be proud of.

244 km!! thats the distance between berlin and hamburg. this is what hauke freer and matthias reiling do as often as possible to visit each others studios and start fighting over bass lines and kick drums. after some top notch releases on the real soon and morris audio record labels we are very pleased to welcome a four tracker from the duo at hairy claw hq. the boys open up the ep with swashbuckler, hypnotic, minimal grooves with snatches of percussion and spun in samples. very go round carries on the minimal grooves but juxtaposes jazzy snatches and wonky stabs. foot the bill introduces tribal rhythms and samples, whilst drum fest black betty rounds things off with a percussive and left field slant. a varied and impressive debut from hauke and matthias on hairy claw.

laurie first made waves on the house/techno scene with his first release with then studio partner carl faure (formerly of blackgrass). the ep was released on brightons most notorious label catskills and was remixed by sian (pokerflat). after branching out on his own with a couple of highly well received releases hairy claw is pleased to offer his latest offering. low slung grooves and deep android beats are the order of the day. hairy claw head man kotey in his ko-t guise parners up with yam who to keep the dub factor high, whilst the swiss master alex attias keeps the minimal dudes happy

hairy claw follow up the johnny d, akufen, funk d void, agnes, kiki (and many more!) supported release from dan drastic with this, calculus >loosey goosey<. mid-tempo, groove based house at its best, >loosey goosey< is a lurching, sinister cut of the highest order. the remix comes from none other than reboot. currently riding high with his amazing >letters /be tougher< on cadenza as well as amazing remixes for the likes of lemos and warieka on below and connaisseur respectively, reboot has delivered a peak time remix which combines jacking fm bass, loose percussion and the trademark reboot arrangement to brilliant effect.

hairy claw is rapidly returning to the forefront of deep, tracky late night house music following a sabatical. this new slice of nice comes from calculus (aka gary goodwin) and is formed of two excellent tracks. walrusman is a stabbing, chicago groove with undulating bass and loose drums making it a swaggering dancefloor bomb. its counterpart, pilot treads a trippier but more direct dancefloor path with a nagging groove, fluttering keys and an incessant bassline. both tracks have seen support from ame, sasse (mood music), sebbo, solomun, justin drake (peace division), david alvarado, tania vulcano (dc10), rub & tug, trickski and many more

the bear family is obviously not ashamed of their thick, flowing fur which might explain why the special k dance orchestra addresses a musical ode to kinky hotshorts a midpaced space boogie tune with robo vox and gyrating space gun sounds galore hotshorts is the perfect theme fur struttin around and displaying unshaven bear legs in all their glory. the flipside holds a darker, distorted piece of funk soaked house. let it grow

exciting news from the re-activated hairy claw label that has been lying dormant for a while. as you know, bears shouldnt be taken for granted when sleeping and this one has awaken to devastating effect. laj & quakerman have been dormant (remember what we said about sleeping bears?!) since 2002 and many fans of their tracks on fiasco and the idjut boys u-star will be very excited to hear of thismonster on hairy claw. two tracks entitled >vinyl frontier< and >lust in space< are sure to get plays from the widest spectrum of djs while keeping their old fanbase intact. live drum rhythms, bleeps, moody synths and latino marracas…i can see this freakin out alot of bunnies! its a space party for future bears on a mission to jack. raj gupta (for it is he) has released under several guises for labels as respected as nuphonic, session, noid, r&s, strutt, mr bongo…the list goes on… we will tell you more nearer release date but for now… grrrr!!!!! roooaaarrgghhh!!
