muscles & hate is an unnamed artist from russia producing raw, pulsating ebm-inclined rhythmic techno. his second white label release on bore hole in 2018 was quickly sold out and is now getting a limited repress.

industrial-beats mit unerbittlichem tempo

this initial release on the new futurepast label marks davy’s first output as a producer, crystallizing his endeavours in the studio and bearing witness to his long-standing experiments in electronic music. built between london and berlin over the last four years, the long now lays down the blueprints for following ventures on the label: using old and new gear to create unique, obscure soundscapes both outside of memory and away from nostalgic projections of lost futures. in a timeless and precise collaboration, davy has brought together two historical figures for this release: 1990s r&s records associate david morley mixed the tracks, while simon davey of the exchange lent his renownedmastering skills to the project. temporality, time travel and perception are key concepts for davy, and not only in the ep’s title. the four stripped-down tracks move forwards, sidewards and backwards in a bid to get us lost – not in space but in what time might sound like should we be swimming through it. mysterious and ageless synths mesh with the beats of an unnamed drum machine under davy’s control. we move through a non-linear story told by three distinct forward-thinking techno titles: no memories planned, circular weeks and causal loop. finally, the titular ambient track pans out cinematically over the images left in our heads: an invitation to begin it all again in the long now...

well street are back with their second instalment of broken beat techno on this 4-track various ep. loop lf returns to the fold after his impressive first release alongside label founders glas rm and speak7, plus an unnamed track by a mystery artist.

office recordings continues to surprise us. after baaz s techno-/ambient-hybrid on office 011 the label from berlin comes up with a stunning new and anonymous project called * one day* featuring four also unnamed tracks. the a-side of the record starts off with a with a superb deep techno track which tempts us with very emotional pads and a strong kick and bass fundament û an irresistible combination. a2 goes in the same direction but feels like the slightly mellower and softer brother of its predecessor û a little bit moody but still straightforward at the same time. the flip side is dedicated to two freestyle electronic tracks standing in the tradition of the best warp offerings from their heyday in the 90s. weÆre talking charming melodies and sparse but elaborate rhythmic patterns. the record comes in a hand stamped and with a lovely artwork also hand made by office art director super quiet. all tracks have been mastered and cut by sound engineering proficient pole at scape mastering.

the second synthetic gold record is special selection by franco cinelli, 4 choice works from the argentinian djs personal collection. on the aside two awesome tracks, left mysteriously untitled and unnamed and on the bside works by anestie gomez and guillermo de camino, complete a very collectable record. again beautifully presented on 180gram vinyl and in brown card sleeves.

best records own luminary claudio casalini was at the helm for this one-shot studio project that captures italo disco at its most exuberant and organic. originally released in 1984, the bassline on -stop your lies- is a quintessential slice of synthetic throb from a golden era, but the electronic elements are wonderfully offset by rich instrumentation and a brilliantly camp vocal performance from the unnamed boy-girl combo. the vocal mix on the a side is strong enough for a single-sided cut, but the instrumental on the flip widens out the reach of the record and really lets casalini s superb production shine through

the dj/production duo from munich back with four tracks full of bass-heavy excursions into hybrid forms of club music close to grime, dancehall, dub, techno and the yet unnamed territory in between their natural habitat. lead single and first track of the ep is copper and lead, which features london city warlord riko dan of roll deep fame, spitting dangerous lyrics on a bashment/grimeriddim. following this is blurred vision, a low end monster named after their gigantic soundsystem event series, exploring the middle ground between dub and the technoleaning 4x4 universe. up next is killer, a song with warrior queen from jamaica, who prepares for a dancehall dub war on a 808-heavy beat straight from miami,err, munich. topping the ep off is siren riddim, an instrumental uptempo bomb for the apocalypse club gang and all the gunfinger crew.

nicetraxuk strides with confidence to its fourth release with some grade a producers on board to confirm the label s position as a trusted outpost for upfront club tackle. moodymanc is on fine form on -where s the story?- dropping an expressive set of drums in a crafty broken beat funk as submerged chords play out and an unnamed source waxes lyrical about stories in house tracks. lil mark meanwhile links up with jcub for -epic 40,- a seriously stripped down club workout that maximizes on finger clicking and moody bass in a flawless demonstration of restraint.

so when stu gardner was rounding up a late night studio session, putting the finishing musical touches to a t.v production he had been commissioned for, he thought he would use the last few hours to record one more song. wow are we glad he did. “don’t fight the love” is making movements in the disco circles and with the modern soul boys. an unnamed female vocalist gives you the performance of her life! this had been sitting dormant until 1980.

richard rogers black booby project returns to its re-edit roots after taking a brief chi-town house diversion with gene hunt & co. on bb07. this time around rogers takes the reins on a2 and b1, while an unnamed engineer joins the black booby fold for a1 and b2.

dj spider & franklin de costa come along with a massive follow-up of their first single on killekill (cat number 016). second bass on the a-side is a bomb of a track with its jazzy beats, otherworldly strings and a bassline straight out of hell. comsume is even more otherworldly with its stumbling, shuffling beat and a spaced-out vocal sample taken from an unnamed sci-fi movies from the 50s. coffee break, the last track of the ep, is a deadlock groove of heavy beats and freaky breaks, that leaves you lost in time and space.
