second release on the fresh italian imprint universal consequence is coming from the hamburg duo silky raven and features 6 special tracks produced as a session in early 2013 and will show us their eclectic and intelligent idea of electronic entertainment. jakob seidensticker & henrik raabe who are also part of the well known project wareika will break new ground as silky raven with more focus on the dancefloor!

due to its black color, the raven was often a harbinger of death in western culture, brought to you in conjunction with dark deeds. but according to native american medicine teachings, light comes out of darkness and the color black is associated with the source of all energy, creating new realities - with the raven as its messenger. silky raven, namely jakob seidensticker and henrik raabe, have dedicated their work to this process with projects like the havana boys, seidensticker/salour and wareika. on the remix duties we first have october, who delivers an homage to the lfo-influenced sound of the 90ies, raw and pure. and second we have a remix by visionquests shaun reeves and jay haze, who join forces to create a dubtechno- influenced pearl, perfectly rounding up the package.

here at off we are very proud to welcome a very exciting new collaboration team including one of the fastest growing acts on the scene in the last couple of years. mexican wonder-team climbers, already praised for massive releases on the likes of get physical, culprit and electronique, team up with londons own silky (my favourite robot, nurvous) and barber (faceless recs) to put together a solid ep surely destined to have room in everyones set this summer.

miles away records are proud to introduce our latest single to land on the label: the cosmic soul gem -super star- by ruth waters and the state of mind show band. a texas native, ruth -silky- waters was best known for her two disco-infused album s -never gonna be the same- and -out in the open-- produced by the late, great john davis (john davis orchestra). it was however some of ruth s early material that caught our interest when we started the label as far back as 2018. -super star-, released on the tiny independent kmba recordings label in the late 1970s, draws from the wells of modern soul and gospel with a touch of cosmic synthy goodness. an proper ear turner, it was like nothing we d heard before. flip it and -super star pt.2- goes deeper into the cosmic essence of the track with extended guitar and synth solos making this a crackin little 45. the track has been lovingly remastered by phil kinrade at the legendary air studios and the lacquer was cut deep by jukka at timmion records. it s now presented in our custom teal green labels and house bag.

repress - clara and armand made their first tracks for the retirement of the librarian from their art school in paris. beginning the collaboration which brought them to post a few tracks on soundcloud and a first single «prettiest virgin» in april. the silky and roaring voice of clara mixes perfectly with armand’s drum machine and those 90’s keyboards. hammering with acid bass, the tandem brings us to an «early warp» sound between daniel maloso, black devil disco and ariel pink. «cardan» ep is a journey into a fantasy of america, but also into a world of synthesis where nothing is clear, all our orientations are scrambled. nobody has control. the virgin forget herself, the princess is drowning but the parrot knows everything.

intergraded is a new label started by midland to focus on releasing music by new artists, whether unknown, emerging or established but working under a new name. the first release sees body in the thames, peach, jay and webstarr help inaugurate the label. the idea for the label came about after being sent unreleased music and ideas by a number of artists over the last year. as i plan to focus graded on my own midland solo work for the foreseeable future, and with regraded occupying a different aesthetic plane altogether, the logical step was to start a new label that could help introduce this music to a wider audience. harry agius aka midland

yaleesa hall is back on his home label will & ink with two eps in quick succession. after releasing his debut album in 2016 this is the first solo output from the amsterdam based producer on the label. this first ep is entitled zoe hayley laura and features a trio of tracks that melt electro, techno and broken beats in arresting ways. opening up the ep is zoe price, a silky electro track with shooting synths and big downward bass strikes that add real depth. it s a urgent and arresting affair to wake up the floor. hayley roach then has much more forceful drums that come in one two punch combinations to the gut. synths writhe and gurgle up top as pads rise up and down the scale and the whole thing is brilliantly large. laura pomeroy then rocks back and forth on its heels, with train track like percussion and malfunctioning machine stabs. it s a real tussle between different elements and locks you right in as a result. once again then, the irrepressible yaleesa hall leads from the front.

during all my years as an active musician in different constellations i have also worked continuously with my own material. a kind of unrestricted flow of creativity that has given birth to a lot of different expressions. so listening to this album is a journey through many phases in my life. v.v.v.v.v is an album with a sound world like a kaleidoscope of moods and melodies flowing between silky kraut pop and distorted synths. claesons takes on his debut album out experiments desire and lets his kraut background form the basis and tops with modern electronic sound

black ivory was the pride of harlem and new yorks answer to the philly-fine delfonics but with infinitely more teen sex appeal. this silky-smooth 70s harmony trio featured the fabulous falsetto lead of leroy burgess (nephew of philly soul legend, thom bell) and charted four top-40 r&b singles and two top-30 lps under the guiding hand of their manager and today records driving force, patrick adams. songs like, you and i, time is love and dont turn around (which they performed live on soul train) are acknowledged sweet soul classics. and as the decade progressed and tastes changed, they successfully conquered the disco dancefloors with fave-raves like, mainline and walking downtown (saturday night) for buddah records which were liberally sampled by the hip-hop generation a true testament to the staying power of their incessantly soulful sound.
