amish boy aka sküge (not to be confused with skudge) is hugues croibien, a thirty seven year old belgian who has experimented with electronic music since his teens. with a diet of seal phüric, the prodigy, autechre and unit moebius stoking his primordial fire, croibien began to align with the rage that exists in the breakcore genre. already an addict of reggae and dub at this time, croibien decided to create some cut-up raggacore with his brand new ableton live 3 software. meanwhile with friends, croibien created break n brol, a non-lucrative association which tried to promote alternative electronic music in liège where he lived. they premiered some bassline stars kanji kinetic and -squire of gothos- on the belgian scene, alongside other alternative electronic composers and musicians like subjex, ebola, mustard gunn and herrmutt lobby. the fellowship decided to create a free net label to release compilations with the bnb party artists. the rough style techno resurgence over the last few years has precipitated a metamorphosis, sküge became amish boy more glitchy than techno, more offbeat than acid and more ambivalent than industrial. although heavily invested for two decades now, laika test project on power vacuum will be croibiens first vinyl release, with a follow-up already in the pipeline.

der londoner produzent o’flynn welcher four tet, gilles peterson & bonobo zu seinen fans zählt veröffentlicht sein ninja tune-debüt! oflynn ist ein junger produzent aus london, der von den machern des boiler room als einer der vielversprechendsten newcomer im dance bereich geadelt wurde. eines der hervorstechenden 12inch-releases des jahres 2015 war o’flynns debütveröffentlichung bei blip discs, zwei tracks voll pumpender, perkussiver und afrikanisch beeinflusster house musik. tyrion entwickelte sich zum tool für four tet, ohne das er in seinen sets nur selten auskam, während das fast schon hymnische desmonds empire von musikgourmet gilles peterson aufgegriffen wurde, der es beim auflegen während des festivalsommers mit beeindruckender wirkung zum einsatz brachte. beim nachfolger oberyn/ spyglass packte er noch eine schippe klappernder perkussion drauf, die in noch stärkerer energie resultierte und airplay bei radio 1 & rinse fm zur folge hatte. seine jüngste veröffentlichung glow worm/ aloha ice jam bekam großes lob von bonobo und wurde von phonica records als eine ihrer besten singles 2016 bezeichnet. mit remixen für faltydl und addison groove und seiner kommenden 12inch für ninja tune in der pipeline, zeigt o’flynn, dass er auch in 2017 nicht daran denkt, das tempo zu verlangsamen und arbeitet stattdessen weiter daran, einen aufregenden neuen namen in der elektronischen musikszene zu etablieren.

this amazing ep from dubsons has an amazing analog sound with a mixture of tracks. we have a bouncey groovey track, a driving housey track and an underground minimal dark room track. all these tracks have had amazing support from the likes of rhadoo, petre inspirescu, nu zau and lots more. this ep has been in the pipeline for some time and is still doing the rounds at various events and festivals with the big boys. burghez has an irie, creepy feel which would go down well at any after hours or main time set and is our personal favourite here at trapped ldn.
