achtung, babyboomers und digital-ureinwohners: fettes brot doktert sich mit der hausinternen zeitmaschine retour in die hinteren jahre des vorherigen jahrtausends und buddelt die ersten vier eigenen 90s-hip hop-meilensteine wieder aus. anders ausgedrückt: es gab ein leben vor dem internetz und die vorstadtkrokos von fettes brot planschten damals schon im haifischbecken musikindustrie. doch, wer weiß das noch? auf den febro-konzerten der letzten 10 jahre lief kaum mehr classic material als jein, nordisch by nature und da draussen, die tonträger bis 2000 gab s seit fünf sommern nur noch 2nd hand zu kaufen und null davon je legal-digital. nur: die bevölkerung braucht das. zum glück hören die 3 partypiepen manchmal sogar zu und schworen sogleich besserung. das brot der frühen jahre erscheint endlich wieder in vier frischen portionen auf lp - neu gemastert in old school stereo, erweitert um einen batzen bonüsse (b-seiten, remixe, features, demos und live-perlen), verziert mit luftigen lebenslügen der 3, ergänzt um reichlich zwielichte zeitzeugenberichte und zugeschüttet mit einem füllhorn verschollener fotos.

als nach dem fall des eisernen vorhangs die ersten frachtschiffe aus westeuropa in klaip&#279,,da anlegten, konnte niemand ahnen, dass mit ihnen eine völlig neue und unbekannte musikkultur in litauen ankommen würde. es war die erste stadt in diesem land, die auf den geschmack dessen kam, was man damals elektronische rave-musik nannte. daher ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass die bekannteste litauische band für elektronische musik der 1990er jahre in klaip&#279,,da, der hafenstadt des landes, geboren wurde.

die erste veröffentlichung von lizdas records ist eine hommage an die vergangenheit. denn ohne exem und ihre legendären tracks, die es damals sogar in die mainstream-medien schafften, sähe die heutige litauische elektronische musikszene ganz anders aus.

the fourth release of another earth, a small dutch vinyl only label with limited 300 pressings, has finally arrived. the a side is proper techno created by dave simon. a1 in acid we trust is a peak time acid techno track and a2 path of ability has a warm detroit feel. the b side by anders ilar together with john h is more obscure. deep weird acid techno that seems to come from another planet.

wer so groß ist wie grönemeyer, der muß nicht auf verkaufszahlen schielen und kann in ruhe so ein album machen wie es bleibt alles anders ist. da wird dem hörer schon einiges abverlangt. die stimme lässt keinen zweifel zu: das ist schon herbert aus bochum aber in großer experimentierstimmung. so erinnert fanatisch musikalisch sehr stark an -riders on the storm von den doors, während herbert seinen bedrohlichen text offenbar in einen telefonhörer hineinsingt. das titelstück wiederum ist ungeheuer dynamisch und intensiv. beide vereint die tatsache, dass man der message wirklich nur mit hilfe des cd booklets folgen kann. ich dreh mich um dich erschließt sich hingegen sofort: der komponist von flugzeuge im bauch hat das balladenschreiben nicht verlernt. bleibt alles anders ist ein komplexes kunstwerk. man muss sich sehr darauf einlassen und wird dafür mit wachsendem hörgenuss belohnt. was grönemeyer über die dauer von mehr als einem jahr in enger zusammenarbeit mit dem programmierer alex silva geschaffen hat, findet man auf dem deutschen markt so schnell nicht noch einmal. wolfram lumpe

anders enges interest in modular synthesizers comes from a desire to shut down conscious decisions about form and to focus on rhythm and timbre. this does however not land in traditional techno but rather in a riff-oriented style, the riff being both rhythm and melody and also a morphing entity in the music. drums and percussion attempt to follow this entity, while maintaining a link to the dance music pulse. the resulting style makes for a hybrid timewarped experience of travelling a parallell electronic music reality, a brooding technoid that grooves

we are proud to unveil the seventh release on telefonplan, osirus ep from anders hellberg, a berlin based producer and dj from south sweden. with osirus ep, it is immediately clear that anders is a fan and follower of the old school techno with elements of detroit techno and acid. four righteous slabs of hardware goodness is on the menu this time, all served tight and driving. from the opening track *beyond the stratosphere* with its pulsating rhythm and hypnotizing chords to *gondor*, a heavier, darker and dubbier acid anders showcases his uniquely modern flavour of techno. on the flip, *osirus* is a floor burning chord jam and *respond* finishes things perfect with hypnotic melody.
