first time i heard this track out was d.jing with adrian gibson, booker/manager for the london jazz cafe in its hay day in the early 2000s, i thought it was some crazy obscusre early jacksons 45. i had no idea what it was but i liked it and it stuck with me. as my eyes were on 45 s at the time it passed me by until numero group reissued it on their fabulous soul messengers compilation (essential purchase if you don t own). after quite a bit of badgering rob sevier, co-owner of numero group, let this grace my format of choice, so here we are, both sides first outing as a single.

late night dweller todd modes can be found deejaying around detroit playing anything from offbeat ambient grooves to spaced out disco jams. he released the todd modes / bobby dolo ep on the cult underground label m1 sessions, and as cosmic handshakes with dial 81 they put out an ep called the delicate details . now he teams up with golf channel s own wild man mike severson from the psychedelic disco rock outfit heroes of the galleon trade. after a session one night, the two step out for a cold one and bump into burly biker bar bandit randy winter and the singer song writer sex visionary emily infinity. after a few drinks they invited them back to the studio and the vocals were set. put on your jean jacket slip on your leather boots and ready yourself for a night thrill ride. golf channel every time !

after the very polish and the very soviet cut-outs, zambon continues his endless trip around eastern europe with another excursion. now it s time to follow him and dive deep into dance music of former yugoslavia. the very first volume of the brand new the very yugo cut-outs exposes a little known scene of editors based around the cult club 20/44 in belgrade, serbia. a duo of djs and producers called kompleks is responsible for three edits here, while the label boss zambon supplies the last one. tracks range from poppy new wave of jakarta group from serbia, through psychedelic rock of seid memic aka vajta from bosnia, yugo boogie of kim band from serbia/macedonia and sleazy synthpop of videosex group from slovenia. the unique vibe and amazing skills of yugoslavian musicians from the rich and unfortunately still little known scene are guaranteed to move both you and your local dancefloor. hvala!

the * dance session band project* started for the session with the dance duo symbol-ism who represents yoyogi, tokyo known as the base of yygrec. the band is composed by three members. daisuke fujiwara (sax), well versed in detroit techno, got attention when he was playing in his original band “phat”, which sublimated the improvisation style of techno and jazz in 90’s. after that he has played with jeff mills and also with underground resistance. masatsugu hattori (drums) who has been playing across the genre, has appeared on the fighting-style music event boycott rhythm machine versus live. he has also played and gone on a duo tour with mc sibitt from a hiphop crew origami. keigo iwanami (bass) is playing in a club jazz band sleepwalker, a punk band midori, oncenth trio, zycos and more. he keeps playing in various fields of music like jazz, pop, punk, improvisation music etc. in this project, they creates “physical” dance session music inspired by symbol-ism, and reflects their each musical backgrounds of jazz, techno, house, hiphop, punk, improvisation and so on.

bc & co. started out as a small group of friends who surfed and skateboarded together. as they hung out in venice and shared their interests and ideas about music, sounds started to take shape. what started off with no intentions of being anything serious began to develop, inspiring music composer alberto bof, music advisor paul t. and music coordinator alex olson to think about avenues of release. inspired by a seigen ono record put out for comme des garcons in 1988 olson got the idea to release the trio s project under his brand bianca chandon. this limited 12 inch has embodied the spirit of the creators and the motivation of the brand to become bianca s first record release.

after a long time, rhadow and ntfo finally met in the studio again to work on the next edition of sintope s slagare series. but not just another regular session... the romanians went fully analogue for a couple of days without phones and computers - just drum machines and instruments. the result is slagare vol. 5 and comes with two tracks in a very limited vinyl only edition of just 300 copies. so better be quick.

his career began in the mid 90s as part of 1st down, which consisted of phat kat on vocals and jay dee on production. the group was short lived however, possibly because of insufficient support/promotion from their label, payday, but the two continued to collaborate on many occasions afterwards, starting with an appearance on fat cat song and its remix, from slum villages fan tas-tic (vol. 1).
