dutch producer sota is the latest to be snapped up by ornate music, presenting his second ever release having first come to light with his own talaman label earlier in the year. subsonica rides on a tough house groove, keeping the elements as spartan as possible while heading straight into the deep end of the night. inverse is a skippier affair that deals with heavily processed synth flares and a deadly swinging groove, and then chatka finishes the ep off with a dreamy cut peppered with delay processing for the quintessential dubby trip through refined 4/4 dance music.

review ornate music continues in its mission to reach out to the freshest talent in the house and techno scene by shining a light on emergent german talent faune, following last years stellar releases by ka one & st-sene and homepark. thus far, jakob panthels production as faune has been spotted on the soundscape versions label, while under his own name he has produced two albums released digitally on crystalline days. most recently, he delivered the four-track isvatten ep to tuesday slump, which operates out of his native munich. as well as his rising release schedule, he has been appearing frequently on the circuit in munich and berlin, performing alongside the likes of a made up sound, stefan jòs and skudge. on this ep panthel delivers three tracks of deep, hardware-powered techno with a keen dancefloor instinct, fitting right in to the ethos of ornate and marking another step forward for faune.

with the original pressing of the 2013 release long gone but still in great demand, ornate is thrilled to revisit leifs each day made new ep and give it a lavish new repress on violet coloured vinyl. when the record originally dropped it received support from artists as well-respected as larry heard, soul capsule, jane fitz and rhythm plate, and continues to be spun regularly to this day.

who the hell are bleep district i hear you ask? well for those of you who havent heard their awsome debut on replay records they are matt powell a founding dj of the legendary quadrant soundsystem and the inappropriately nicknamed matt rhythm who rumour has it spends his spare time pressing random buttons as one half of deep house anti-heroes rhythm plate. coming straight out of leftfield, bleep district have exploded onto the deep house scene like a musical gas leak. their quirky, chunky, dancefloor orientated beats causing serious damage on dancefloors and working mens clubs around the counrty. these two devout christians and still practising altar boys have decided to continue the religious theme of the bleep of faith ep on the highly respected winding road and titled their debut for ornate music… end days ep. revelations (rapture rub) kicks of the ep with a clearly deluded shaun ryderesque gentleman professing his faith over a big moody analogue bass and detroit style stabs on a track that would make the staunchest non believers begging for absolution! and on revelations (pillar of salt dub) they take things nice and deep for those more reflective moments in the evening.

andré laos second act on let s play house is a continuation of his first. like roundabout, nordic delight (the guy hails from gothenburg, so you can guess where the title originated), is sunny and bright piano laden house that s as melodious as it is layered and ornate. unlike that ep, though, this one really revolves around one track stroganoff which is presented in three different forms: a vocal mix, a piano stew dub, and a remix from anton klint of tiedye. supplementing and equalizing those is kalops, the 12inches second original.
