matt karmil is a british musician currently residing in sweden. ++++ is his third album, following 2014 s pnn debut - - - - and idle033, released on bristol label idle hands earlier this year. his output also includes a variety of singles for labels such as new yorks beats in space recordings and stockholm s studio barnhus. on this new album, karmil can be heard exploring the concepts of impossible objects, reflection, symmetry, infinity perspective, truncated and stellated polyhedra, hyperbolic geometry, tessellations and lost love. while making the music that constitutes ++++ he interacted with mathematicians george pólya, roger penrose and harold coxeter as well as the crystallographer friedrich haag, and also conducted his own research into tessellation. the result is ++++, karmil s most clever, strange, emotional and fun work yet, a testament to his breadth and depth as a musician. did we forget to mention that he s an awesome party dj?

forecast label announces new vinyl ep -holysheep- by cheaper shepherd to be released in march 2016. samples, drum machines and old school keyboards: a straight ­to ­the point! cheaper shepherd is a duo of producers born in the 15th borough of paris. drived by their love of synthetizers and other analogic machines, they ve been working in electronic music for years. in addition to their own projects, they have produced several hip­hop, house and techno projects: timä, androma (savoir faire), la direction, dudmode, peterbär... their first ep origin came out on helpme records early 2013, followed by three other eps, released on their own label baldwin records among others. they joined the booking roster of forecast label in 2012, and released on vinyl their first ep for the label. this projects appears as the fulfillment of a collaboration that has allowed them to go on tour in france (paris, bordeaux, lyon and st malo) but also in china. in 2015, they also went to the us to record with cans. the project was originally an ep of five songs, but the chemistry was such that it has turned into a 17 tracks album that will be released in 2016, between old school hip hop, house music and trap... limited to 200 copies !

fumiya tanaka has been regarded as one of the legendary dj/artists in techno over 20 years. he has been doing numerous projects such as his private label torema records, op.disc (co-running with yoshihiro hanno aka radiq), he run his own label called sundance and his famous party chaos (in tokyo and osaka). and through his long running career, he has been successfully expressing the possibilities of music. the long awaited full length album by fumiya tanaka.

while we love to dance at correspondant, we have also been known to think from time to time to, so it s exciting for us to have been given the opportunity to combine the two things when presented with some new music from two of our favourite producers, marvin and guy. as such, correspondant 42 represents a more conceptual approach for the italian duo, informed by long countryside drives, the names of classic cars as learned from an illustrated childrens book, a yearning to move away from the pack of identikit dance music and a need to connect with their music in a physical way, as provided by the recorded hand clapping refrain running throughout the tracks.

aether series is home for bass heavy and dj-friendly experimental music and sound art. the first release of the series is ikolas mini-lp titled *core*, originally recorded for *machine soul - the documentary film* soundtrack. the film focuses on pioneering finnish electronic music artists such as mika vainio, jori hulkkonen and jimi tenor. the score is composed as a tribute to their work and is now released as an independent piece on vinyl.

good things come to those who wait. the long-anticipated land of light debut, a masterpiece of an album and pillar of the esp institute, was unveiled in late 2012, slowly followed by the gorgeous remixed ii. since then, many have longed for the missing first half of this two-part package, the universe is kind and has finally delivered remixed i. on side a, kuniyuki takahashi (mastering engineer behind seminal esp releases, and legend in his own right) took the bull by the horns remixing flares—a piece of music so entrenched in melancholy, with such fluid performance and production, its hard to imagine anyone taking it deeper—he has unarguably triumphed. on side b, esp institute veterans tambien rose to the same challenge with flares, the bavarians taking a refreshing uptempo approach, a contrast to the swells of guitar and synth. closing the release is the seahawks blissful re-imagination of bell rock outpost, slowly and steadily setting sail into a dusky vision of the scottish lighthouse after which the song was named.

as per usual, jwb presents an ep of high quality. this time with the helping hand of t. ruggieri. one can appreciate the grand scale of sounds inside a very deep atmosphere. two great remixes as pablo inzunza (little helpers / highgrade) and gus & bonso (wrong state) tops such a fantastic release.

the first spinning plates ep back in february was picked up by print media and radio tastemakers from ra and dj mag to b.traits and moxie, whilst djs as diverse as ivan smagghe and francois k slotted it into their dj bags. as such there has been much demand for a second release, and now it arrives in the form of a fascinating split ep from scene veteran andy rantzen and relative newcomer bruno schmidt, who helps a&r for the label. in fact it was bruno who came across andy’s tracks during a late night youtube session. andy, who remixed inxs and severed heads back in the day and is a sydney based producer who has been active for three decades, had upped a load of his old demos to youtube in the faint hope that one day someone might find them. and damn are we happy he did, because they are brilliant affairs that sound like little else. for his part, bruno has been a louche resident and hifi creator alongside andrew james gustav and gwenan and delivers an exceptional stripped down late night trip/early morning trip.

it is by now no secret that the sounds of the kick drums echoing off the hills of the tennessee valley have been singlehandedly redefining what we know to be truly proper for the better part of a decade now. however, the faces of those that make up this new world order have remained largely in the shadows. as such we are beyond excited to bring tennessee’s two most elite producers, memphis’s will azada and knoxville’s alex falk, back to cgi.

concept is the new baby established by the already international well known artist agency my favourite freaks, which consists of a four part and monthly released series starting in december 2015. all tracks will be out on vinyl and only for real and freaky club boyz and party girlz. international celebrated artists of the agency collaborated to create such a big collector s item.

das ding, one of the legends of rotterdam, has been going since the early 80 s with his label tear apart tapes . he had releases on the finest of imprints such as minimal wave. now midlight will issue a some heat by the artist in subject with pride. these excerpts from das ding s modular techno setup were originally released on cassette by dehef, a most fine small imprint from rotterdam.

curitiba-based aia records returns with it s second release. lucas and marcelo also known as doneck, started to join forces back in early-2013. musically influenced by international recognised artists such as san soda, andre&#769,,s and move d, the duo also found significance in the sounds of aia s own label heads aninha & antonela antonela giampietro. therefore, creating a mixture of three soulful, deep but endlessly sounding tracks seems very convincing and credible to the overall ethos of the imprint. with assaz the duo delivers a deep but soulful house number, whereas ocluso is deep house at it s best, with a light atmospheric vibe and the echoing vocal. last but not least, te&#770,,nue creates this feeling of weightlessness and ease with warm natural added sounds and it s groovy bassline.
