step forward dubfire (aka ali shirazinia from grammy winning dj and production duo deep dish) whos already hit top form this summer with some tasty releases on desolat, funkwelle.net and whose thumping >emissions< features on the minus compilation >expansion contraction<. the beauty of this rework is that it doesnt stray far from the original vibe. dubfire pays the track the full respect it deserves, adding contemporary beats, bass and hat patterns, subliminal efx and tweaks that perfectly compliment the eq sweeps and machine gun snare rolls of the original. panikattack (originally released on plus 8 in 1996 as the b side to sickness) gets a more radical overhaul with guido schneider turning in a typically pragmatic version. by excavating and enhancing the gritty funk that lies buried under the feverish textures of the original, he discovers a totally new dimension. combining the plastik elements with his own trademark swing and razor sharp percussion programming, schneider coaxes the track out of the shadows for some serious peak time action as the bassline bounds forward relentlessly occasionally enveloped by stuttering delays, to negotiate its way through the dubbed out breakdown and on to the end

we are glad to introduce this release by it. ivan iusco, the artist behind the it moniker, has been running minus habens records since 1992. its disturbance sublabel has been responsible for releasing forward thinking techno and experimental releases from a range of well known artist such as marco repetto, aphex twin, speedy j and atom heart among others. here we present three tracks that have previously been released on his era vulgaris cd album. the ep ranges from techno to more abstract broken beats on the flip side, displaying the versatility of it as a producer and encompassing the sound of the first years of disturbance.

the first in a series of compilations by jura soundsystem is a blend of dub, ambient, downtempo, boogie and proto house with a focus on music never before released on vinyl, sought after out of print titles and some special versions edited specifically for the album. . the intention with this project was to delve deeper into the reissue pond and unearth some lesser known tracks and artists. highlights include smackos (aka legowelt) ambient epic ‘we can watch alf in the hotel room’, never before released on vinyl, the dub / psych hybrid of minus group’s ‘black shadow’, kash’s sought after ‘percussion sundance’ and special edits of ken dang and tabou combo. the end of the album includes some soothing ambient tools.

originally released in 1993 by the italian imprint minus habens records, -concrete jungle- is the second album by this seminal project of dirk ivens (the klinik, absolute body control). a work considered as groundbreaking by lot of fans of early 90s industrial, noise and ebm. there are few electro-pioneers that are still active and successful and mr. ivens is one of them, inspiring a lot of acts to follow in the past three decades. -concrete jungle- is being released for the first time on vinyl in a limited/numbered edition of 700 copies. double record including all the original tracks plus the -extended play- ep (1994) and some songs from old compilations. artwork based on the original design and presented on a deluxe gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves and numbered card.

steve stoll - nyc acid legend made a hard banging acid tracer.
in 1996 serotonin label heads selway and szostek went to moscow to perform at the invitation of &#1055,&#1058,&#1070,&#1063, magazine. synapse performed at the -waterclub- and met the legendary dj compass vrubell. they went to his -studio- where he had perfected the art of making entire tracks out patterns on the yamaha dx-5. szostek brought a dat of these jams back to nyc and schmer-003 dj rx-5 -a taste for crap- was released as a small run white label in 97. the run sold out and disappeared to be forgotten forever... until 2016 szostek casually mentions its existence to techno uber-nerd nina kraviz who just had to have it for her -fabric 91- cd. so dj rx-5 was back from the ash heap of history and schmer got a new release from him on schmer07. then schmer got the word out far and wide that they d like a remix ep for two of the originals: compass provided stems because like a miracle he still had the patterns after 20 years. heeding the call were pointsman, tripmastaz, steve stoll and schmer s own bpmf. so this is what you get: -a taste for remix-. it will leave your lips wanting more, for sure!

reissued from the spanish version of this awesome cuban records with a unique picture cover. probably one of the best 70’s areito releases, for sure ahead of his times. the entire record minus two tracks of 10 total are all upbeat with afro-latin breaks, dope choral vocal arrangements and chunky bass and conga lines, but don’t sleep, the lower bpm songs are great mellow gems. gilles peterson says: “if a cuban record had come out on sleeping bag records in 1982, i think it would ve sounded a bit like this. it’s an eccentric middle ground between latin-styled pop and disco.”

official re-issue of danish electronic music from 1974! vinyl lp comes with booklet and limited to 500 copies - no repress. frederiksberg records announces the first re-issue of stoned which is exclusively licensed from the artist and has been carefully restored from the original master tapes. it comes with a booklet of liner notes by thomas knak. stoned by gunner møller pedersen is a pioneering partly-electronic composition from denmark. gunner believes that its musically out of category. it was created for a slide show with focus on sculptures by the late american photographer stuart fox. gunner self-released the record in minuscule numbers in 1974. the music on stoned has an original and meditative quality which transcends time and should appeal to today’s music lovers with a taste for something different.

brill deep minimal detroit techno (dub) a la hardwax / basic channel... b2 track >minus< is actually a re-release from the 1998 >ll001< single, long out of print. since there was a steady (nearly monthly) request to make this track available again, it has been remastered and included to match the other tracks on this single. the aim of this release is to prove that a certain approach to composing and sequencing with particular sound can end in a timeless production. at the end of this process it should be standing against the times, playable in 1989, 1997, 2007 or still in 2020. individual production methods or media stay behind, as the artistic vision of shaping and mastering the sound come thru. already playing on heavy rotation in berlins clubs by local djs who got whitelabels or cdrs, this 12inch will once more become a classic to people who dont look for hype or trendy fashion but lasting sound quality.
