tube10 returns to the scene again with a release to blow your minds away. this time its the greek formation ekelon. their debut on planet mu with headhunter on mary anne hobbs evangeline had us in our grasp so much that we couldnt help ourselves then to hit them up and see what whould happen. tube10 005 is the result of this encounter and it shows ekelon flexing their crossover sound like no other. is it techno? is it dubstep? we dont know but we sure as hell love both tunes to bits!
the a side evidence - a steady tune in the ekelon sets and lots of others aswell. feel this tune filling up the speakers and rumbling up those subs we thought where lost.. a perfect blend between all that is experimental while keeping it dj friendly..flip it over for freeze land.. an chilled out tundra of techno, thats how we like to call it.. frozen subs combined with defrosted stepping vibes ensures this to be a solid first release for the ekelon boys.. and dont worry this wont be their last!

james (greenskeepers) curds first record with dfa, featuring vocals by jdub, also from chicago. its a perfect blend of vocal disco and house, with a bit of that rollerskating feel. a purely fun track that is designed to get people moving. instrumental on the flip!

after a run of collectible releases on their own and one 12inch for esteemed deep explorer label the guys from valencias cornuta imprint return with another strong double header of summery deephouse that easily gets ahead of the flood of moody, two chord releases of minimalists turned to house yet never gets noodly or looses the floor outta sight. . >good try dub< sports a nice jacking beat, superb warm rhodes and string chords. the beat on the flip pounds a bit harder yet keeps the classic soulful vibe

sometimes a track is so hot it just has to come back around again. about ten years ago brett johnson and dave barker (stucco homes) wrote some unbelievably catching house tunes, one of them being temptation and lies. so it just seemed right to give this track yet another life. deadbeat and mike shannon dive deep into a stripped down techno groover, removing the constant use of the vocals and creating a rolling techno dub version. some seriously deep bass in the production that works the subs in all the right places. ernesto ferreyra and guillaume coutu dumont aka chic miniature give you a playful melodic version on the flip. full use of the original chord progressions, combined with the guys signature marimba/latin percussion leaving you with a lush, warm summer hit. then brett dives into the track again giving you the oohs and ahhs mix. a ten minutes work out with bjs patented groove focused on the vocal harmonies in the original. the result is a warped, spaced out, long player that is sure to twist a few heads. mental just about sums it up. of course we had to include the original masterpiece for those who didnt find it the first time round. a favorite of everyone involved on the remix project i think youll agree that the temptation and lies cynosure mixes do the original some justice.

teaming up with the legend that is francois dubois. the first time the pair have worked together since the labels first release. the pair turn out a devastating house workout. deep warm synths, and heavy, killer keys, create a wonderfully moody, traditional workout, ready for all floors. on the flip, h turns to irish don and barcelona resident chymera, who turns in an electrified version of the original. injected with more pace and power than the original, the elements from the lead track hit he floor with added urgency. a great tech-infused cut, that will find favour across the board.
