special 12 inch featuring new versions of the track fa, taken from the debut fennesz solo album >hotel paral.lel< (1997). 15 years after its initial release, christian fennesz gives this throbbing monster of a track a new seeing to, extending it and adding more of that magic he is so well known for. the album was always an exercise in exploring alternate means of hearing club based music. this new version carries that concept further.
this is backed by a cracking new mix by the ever productive mark fell, adding his unique beat structures, and even a mlk sample, which lends his contemporary rhythmic landscape a odd nostalgic twist.
this 12 inch can be seen as a warm up for the new fennesz album, which is currently scheduled for 2013 release.

praterei returns with their 5th instalment and so do those twins with their second successive offering to the vienna stable! the ingredients on this one are similar to the last but the result is no less stirring. the rough and ready side of the 12 belongs to the aptly entitled >house< and youll see why. never straying too far from the old school... shuffling beats and rims keep things swinging. each layer of the melody is deep in youll be whistling this later territory and intermittent vocal shouts remind us exactly what it is we are listening to. the flip beckons for you to walk with me and that you must. the beat saunters along but always with a sanguine skip and our seductive protagonist guides us through the warm textures of rich pads and stabs. this is one of those records where, for both tracks, the message could not be more perfectly translated. every aspect contributes to a common goal, and thats a rare and quite special thing.

just over a year ago, in july 2011, harmless records released their first installment in their new mixology series, releasing mixology-the definitive salsoul mixes. this triple album featured thirty-one tracks from discos premier label, salsoul. now the mixology series will return on 20th august 2012, with harmless records turning their attention to another of disco’s most important labels sam records.
