MERKUR 6 (VINYL ONLY)
12 Inch 12.11.13
merkur releases its 6th ep which has a new, different approach compared to the last eps for which it has gained much praise during the past 5 years. the a-side >theme of mercury< was produced by label founder shingo suwa and akirahawks, who is known for the unique re-edit label house mannequin. the two of them mainly perform at homopatik in berlin. theme of mercury is a hypnotic track which was created with some broken old synth and sends your mind on an intergalactic odyssey, before diving into the deepest ocean on a journey to forget about space and time. the first track of the b-side is a remix from ducerey ada nexino aka yuji kondo, also known for his work under both his own name and as a half of steven porter on semantica. the remix fastens up the mix by repetitive pulsating synths, giving the beat an industrial modern atmosphere and letting the crowd heating up. the second track on the flip-side, called >barsoom<, is a solo production by shingo and completes the whole package. the functional work of a cut up 303 acid line with raw bass and a running groove creates an insistent and deeply pressured feeling. vinyl only, limited to 300 copies.

MERKUR 5 (VINYL ONLY)
12 Inch 16.10.12
vinyl only release !! limited to 300 copies... after the previous four compilation releases, merkurs founder shingo suwa now announces his own ep. as first track never leave me / original mix is a smooth house track, which combines synthetic riffs and chords with a solid bass line. hm dub is a remix by house mannequin, this remix contains some of the vintage chicago style beat, including filtered pads with dubbed samples. it is an incessant groove of a mellow and simple dub edit. side b inhaled deeply / original is a profound production by shingo, created with a deep and raw groove. wild rhythms assist the techno flavor here as well. sei katsu acid mix was created by the mysterious newcomer sei katsu from miyazaki. this remix is a repetitive trip through hypnotic, sweeping synthesized lines and tricky drumming. its kind of a dj tool that is functional on the dance floor

MERKUR 2
12 Inch 27.03.09
the second release from merkur aka japasese embassy is coming. we can expect an exciting and unexpected 3 tracker which does not fit in any conventional category. gonno, tokyo based producer and dj, has graped everyones attetion with his outstanding “i don’t need competition (inkl. donnacho costello mix)” on beyond records in late winter 2008. for merkur he has designed the acid-revival track “desolation 303?,,. this track is build on a tricky chicago styled rhythm and an acid sequence which first comes slowly, later on developing an beautiful drive suitable on every dancefloor. berlin based japanese artist / label owner shingo suwa painted the tune “silver blue” with a lot of love for chords and melodic spins. maybe you can call it housemusic knocked down to a minimal attitude. “two of us” plays with warm synths on a solid base, slightly referring to the detroit deep house culture and impressing with an advanced but nevertheless solid groove

MERKUR
12 Inch 02.04.08
good news from the merkur kunst headquarters, a.k.a the japanese diaspora embassy: our attempt to enrich berlin cultural activities with a japanese interpretation of electronic music has found its voice with a first 12inch vinyl release. merkur 01 features gonno, a tokyo based artist who already released on uks perc records and japans wc recordings. his track >es< is a pulsating dancefloor twister build on a solid bass substrat rising with warm and tripped out pads. the flipside brings two tracks by merkurboss shingo suwa. he operates the japanese machines in a classic chicago style - percussive, hypnotic and with this specific grasp only the inventors can provide. these tracks are well made uptempo technotunes with a slight touch of aristrocratic reserve
