die b-seite ist nicht weniger stark: sie beginnt mit einem geradlinigen techno-knaller des produktiven produzenten drvg cvltvre, geht über zu einem genreübergreifenden track voller experimenteller elemente, die mit modularer synthese und harten kicks von black potion angeheizt werden, und beendet die ep mit einem angstauslösenden dark ambient-track von dim garden.

this collaboration between skatebård, philipp lauer & dj sotofett dives deep into flux borders of italo, new beat and the melodic sides of industrial. a-side is contoured by a synthetic bassline riff on trigged drums & percussions for a full club version. b-side’s two tracks are both differently bass driven, one with live piano solo and the other with airy whistles. all tracks cleverly composed with a richness of melody, rhythm & engaging arrangements.

“frozen refrains” ist das fünfte studio-album von dem elektroakustischen komponisten bérangère maximin. es erscheint auf dem label atlas realisations des new yorker produzenten craig leon (ramones, blondie). zuvor hat bérangère maximin bereits alben auf den labels tzadik, sub rosa und crammed discs veröffentlicht. seine kompositionen sind stark von der musique concrète beeinflusst. er nutzt naturaufnahmen und geräusche und verarbeitet diese stark verfremdet in seinem werk. das album ist von abstrakten sound-scapes geprägt, in den melodie- wie soundfragmente kurz aufblitzen. für fans von: pierre henry, brian eno, luc ferrari, laurie anderson und pole.

luise presents one of her dearest friends: with lul#005, constantijn lange shares his impressions of the mystifying nature and culture of morocco. in orange atlas, your mind travels through the kingdom, as constantijn melts together field-recordings with his unique sense for acoustic expression. the uplifting *rote nacht* (a1) reveals the contrasting energy between the tumultuous city and the silent mountain, before gently giving way to the feelings of the exotic seascape in *essaouria* (a2). delicately, yet suprising as ever, acid pauli rearranges the warm drums in *essaouria* (b1) to let your spirit rest in an imagined, green oasis, before it is completely taken away by the lightness of the seabirds in *thagazout* (b2).

making his 1st appearance on mathematics on a 2009 12 inch, audio atlas returns to the label for a debut album! here he blends raw house sounds with the elements of deep techno to bring 9 tracks of top quality dance music, each tune titled after a different part of the globe. highly recommended!
