this is land of dance, we’ve reached the tenth release and we want to celebrate it with an album, fifteen tracks and artists divided into four vinyls (two double pack) including music by: seldom seen aka santiago salazar, jared wilson, ricardo miranda, nightjars aka analogue cops, healing force project, boston 168, drvg cvltvre, xxxv gold finger, jann, passenger and dave hargadon (slowburn) plus some new names such as: andrea vietti, seven sins and müskije lycheeni. the tracklist has been thought as a dj set that evolves from ambient to jazz to house to techno. this is land of dance!

luciano continue his newly launched basaec imprint with * saved & slaved*, a two-track release featuring collaboration with argenis brito. swiss-chilean producer and dj luciano has been at the forefront of underground electronic music for quite some time now, heading up the infamous cadenza imprint and releasing material for some of the industry’s leading labels such as perlon, desolat, cocoon and poker flat amongst many others. here we see luciano back on his recently launched basaec label, delivering some of his signature stripped-back, dynamic and emotive material ‘lost in lymbo’ takes the lead and sees luciano offer up a typically intricate twelve-minute excursion with subtly modulating and evolving percussion, spiralling synth swells, sporadic vocal chants and a smoothly unfolding aesthetic resulting in an archetypal and intriguing production from this forever forward-thinking artist. the latter half sees luciano paired with fellow cadenza artist argenis for ‘pato’s track’, stripping back the vibe to a raw cowbell and rim shot percussive-led state whilst lumpy subs, vocal murmurs and subtly unfolding flute like melodies ebb and flow throughout the composition.

recondite returns to hotflush with two unique techno narratives forged in his inimitable style. since 2014s smash, caldera, the prolific producer has released two studio albums, as well as a string of notable eps for the likes of innervisions, dystopian and life & death. at once subtle and grand, phalanx/warg sees recondite exploring the full range of his distinctive voice. deep, sinewy techno set with a genuine sense of intrigue, both cuts flood the dance floor with an unsettling warmth.

creme organization s jericho one label continues to set a fine agenda with its fifth ep, this time from dj plant texture aka dona basile, who also releases as dona and given. this is only his second ep under this alias, and is one that again marries breakbeats, techno and electro into electrifying new forms. things kick off with maybe sometimes , three minutes of brutal old school rave. maybe sometimes (2_3 psymono mix) is then a heavily filtered and stripped back version of the same tune that is brilliantly weird and otherworldly. lello from sda then picks up the pace once more with reversed stabs, slamming drums and rubbery bass all cut up with yelping vocals and dusty breaks that take you right back to the early 90s. on the flip, gargantuans is on a deeper and more trippy old school flex with bright pads and gurgling bass taking you higher, then cyclone (tribute to the 90 s) is just that with its frenzied drums, filters and euphoric breakdowns all run through with street fighter samples. d_one then ends the trip with a bit of ambient electronics, with odd sine waves and sharp sound designs placing you in an unhinged world.

sentinelas is the first album release on rudimentary records. produced and conceived by irish producer mick “t-woc” donohoe the album is the result of a trip donohoe took to brazil in 2014. built off samples from records bought in a dusty sao paulo warehouse, sentinelas is the unintentional soundtrack to a 1970s brazilian educational comic book, fusing together hip-hop, electronic music, and dub to tell a strange-but-true story of discovery, antibodies, and cockroach shit dust.
